Two posts in one day! I’m on a roll! So, I often get a lot of questions/Flak/side bar commentary about the duplicates in my collection. If you’re a book collector then you understand. However if you are not a book collector and you can’t reason out why someone has multiple copies of the same book, I will tell you my own personal reasons. As one can see, I have MANY duplicates in my collections. However, even though they are the same book on the inside, they are not the same on the outside. Sometimes it’s simply a change in format like my Archived series. I have a copy in both PB and HC. I’m a huge fan of Victoria’s so, honestly, I buy her books in ALL formats because I like giving her that extra support. Yes, I realize I am but one book buyer. However my purchases still make a difference. Regardless how small they may seem. Sometimes, I will buy a book in paperback and hardcover because an overseas edition has awesome covers. Case in point, The Conquerors trilogy by Kiersten white. The US books in HC are beautiful, but the UK PB are as well. I love the series, so I bought both versions. Sometimes books get revamped and get new covers. Such as with the Bardugo books. I have copies of her original covers and the new updated versions of Shadow and Bone trilogy. Then of course there are all of the great many special edition. I have three copies of The Cruel Prince. One is the original, another an OwlCrate exclusive, and the third copy a Barnes & Noble exclusive. Same goes for Fangirl. Different exclusive collectors editions. And then, there are my foreign editions. I don’t speak any other language except for English but I have books in both Chinese and French. I plan on getting books in other languages as well. All my foreign language books are Schwab books. By far, I have more duplicates of her books than any other in my entire collection. I currently have six, I think 🤔 , copies of Vengeful coming in September once the book is published. I have pre-ordered all four covers of the Steel Prince Comic, I even have the Comic-con Ashcan exclusive. Yup! Love her work that much. Aside from these reasons, there are also arc’s. If you do not know what an arc is, it is also called an advanced readers copy. It’s a version of a book before it is published. Typically these are given to book bloggers, librarians, booksellers, basically those who will read review and hype the book up. For some collectors, these are highly sought after books for their collections. I myself have a few. A lot of times, the promo copies (arcs) have a very different look/cover than the final copies, sometimes those promo covers are better. I think I covered everything. Different collectors have different reasons. 🤷🏽‍♀️ —————————————————————-
