I like being gay and using big words to seem smarter and confuse people
Ok so that IS a word...but not the way I was using it.
Synonym-Finder.com is the best place for searching English synonyms, antonyms and word definitions.
How wonderful!
Though I do feel like I should give a warning. I've worked with students who were studying English as a second language, and their dictionaries would occasionally spout off synonyms to words that weren't appropriate for the context. While not exactly the same idea, I just want to warn anybody against getting too creative with synonyms. You try to use that word that no one has ever heard before and the book will feel like it's trying to be loftier than the readers.
My aunt was an editor at one point, and she said there were some authors who would use words that were really unheard of, which I think will just drag you out of the story.
I think big words are fine, as long as they're words that at least some people will know. Like onomatopoeia.

I haven't done any of my math homework over the course of this long weekend. I was saving it for tonight, but tonight I've decided to re-read one of my all time favorite books. And I will not put it down. But if one or two missing assignments are the retribution I must pay for my love of the written word, so be it.
