Something something Utgard-Loki moment

In this tale, the gods Thor and Loki, and two companions whose identities change depending on the version of the tale, wind up as guests in the home of Utgard-Loki, ruler of the Jötunns (giants).

As entertainment, Utgard-Loki challenges his guests to contests of skill and strength. Thor undertakes three challenges himself to prove how mighty he is. In the illustration above he was supposed to lift a large cat, but the cat was so heavy that - even with his tremendous strength - Thor was only able to lift one of the cat's paws off the floor.

Later it is revealed that Utgard-Loki tricked the gods with illusions. The "cat" was really Jörmungadr, the Midgard Serpent whose body encircles the entire Earth. Utgard-Loki and the other giants were terrified to witness Thor actually lift the colossal serpent.

Introducing Loki's different forms! ✨

So I recently picked up on an idea I really liked that I hadn't really liked before!

What if Utgard-Loki and Loki were the same and Loki had just tricked Thor with his illusions? After all wasn't he said to be very skilled in that.

So I don't think Loki and Logi are the same and I am aware Utgard-Loki also has the name Skyrmir. But what if it was all just a big prank Loki was in on with him and he was actually the real Utgard-Loki just trying to switch his role. Maybe he even owned the castle and gave it to Skyrmir? Not sure hah!

But absolutely just had to draw what I'd imagine him as! Of course including the mustache he is sometimes depicted with. Now I could finally use it!

I also included kitty-gandr! Jormi as a long cat is too adorable to ignore, okay!! 😭

(Plus, another point to why Utgard-Loki could be Loki. Why would jormungandr be there hmm? 👀)

Oh and to show how tall he is I added sigyn to compare hehe *Bullies her cutely*

Now explaining this next one, it has actually been a head cannon of mine for a long time.

What if Thokk, the giantess Loki disguises himself as, was actually a form he based of Angrboda. Explaining why her name means "Thanks" 😭
