I decided it was finally time that I got a pack of greytone markers to help me sketch out wireframes and rough drafts for projects.

I've had a rough start this school year, so I'm not as organized as I usually am. To help rectify that, I just sat down and wrote a list of everything I need to accomplish today.

1. Post client questions

2. Check-in with my professor for portfolio/project feedback

3. Print brochure and letterhead

4. Read chapter on green design philosophies

5. Take visual notes

6. Post Deaf culture discussion post.

A ton of work to do today, and I got a late start because I had to go to town for a tax appointment.

Working on a competitive assessment for my UX course, and then I have to draft a poster and write/draw visual notes for 2 other classes.

This is for a UX assignment due tomorrow. 

TikTok is an app that is designed for maximum engagement. It opens to an endless stream of content where the only visible actions are to interact. They purposely avoid including anything in the design that implies an ending, so as users we get sucked into the vortex.

My redesign is simple, but it’s an experiment as to how apps can respect their users. The first screen gives you an option to receive a reminder after a set amount of time (think if you want to take a quick 15 minute break to zone out before jumping back into work) or you can opt out completely. 

If you choose a timer, there will be a little hourglass in the upper left.

Regardless, there is a small exit option in the upper right. It should be far enough away that you won’t hit it accidentally, but its a small reminder that leaving is an option.

Welcome to my nest.

I finished a decision tree/user flow for my UX final project. Now I'm working on the lo-fi prototype.

Then I have to finish drafting my selection of gig posters in preparation for another final.

Time seems to be flying by and I'm not sure I like that?

Right now I'm trying to figure out which features go on which screen, and plan ahead a little in terms of creating icons.

Portfolio Work!

I just learned that I have UX portfolio work. 

As in, I have completed projects and research methods that I can include in my future portfolio as part of my job search.

It all feels so real...
