It was an icy-cold Valentine’s Day, with a record breaking snowstorm on the way. Connor was ready, the time had come to execute his holiday plans. He pulled on his favorite bad-weather fluffy coat and grabbed up the red gift bag containing another of the same coat, this one in white. Both had a faux fur trim around the hood, his tan in color, and made with a cotton-synthetic blend. As he saw it; it was rather elegant, and although it was intended for a female presenting wearer, Connor did not give a fuck.
He struck out into the cold world, already blanketed in twelve inch deep snow, and climbed into the taxi he’d summoned, placing the gift bag next to him in the back seat. The taxi carried him to the precinct where his counterpart resided, unsuspecting. Connor hopped out eagerly, requested for the taxi to wait for them, and sped up the steps and into the building. He sent a wireless message to Connor-51 at this point, so as not to scare him with the surprise.
In the back, he found his friend, as expected. Connor smiled brightly at him, “Happy Valentine’s Day! I got you a couple of things, but you’ll have to come back with me to get the rest.” He grinned, a glint of mischief in his eye as he motioned to the door with a little nod of his head. “This is just the precursor. Open it!” He held the gift bag out, eager for the festivities to begin in earnest.
It didn’t matter what dark origins the holiday might have carried, not to Connor, not in the moment. What mattered to him was that he had an excuse to celebrate the ones he loved, and he was absolutely not going to waste that.
