Vale Vapid: Publishing Books
I’ve been following new rumors of Vale Vapid publishing books. Right now all I know is people have been telling stories on popular message boards that hand published books with disturbing stories. Multiple stories have been described, supernatural horror, disturbing snapshots of traumatic events, witchcraft, and one odd report of romance. Normally rumors wouldn’t interest me, except, all of the accounts are being tagged #ValeVapid.
After scanning through countless posts, one of the earliest posts mentioned the existence of hand made books containing accounts from impossible perspectives. These books originally thought to be fiction until a few stories appeared describing events almost simultaneously as they occurred. Earlier posts seem to validate this theory.
Original posts claim to have read foretold events, or stories concurrent with events. They claim these stories were written in small books found on the street. Interestingly a few accounts have claimed they purchased one of the books in a small boutique.
All of this seems to point towards ValeVapid. I need to get my hands on one of these books.

ValeVapid: Second Hand Account
Curiously I’ve met people wearing clothes and accessories that make reference to Empty Valley. I saw it first as a small logo on the bottom a shirt; then it seemed like the logo ValeVapid appeared everywhere. Most of the people I asked could not remember where or when they had gotten the clothes. From the few people who did remember some details I’ve pieced together the following about the store.
Most accounts begin with walking around at night, and describe an alleyway. Some people have said the alleyway was interesting because on either side stood two bouncers. Other accounts remember nobody in particular. One commonality however was curiosity. Those who saw the bouncers asked and we silently pointed down the alley. Then both stories corroater that at the end of the empty alley was the light of one storefront at the very end reflecting its light on the the opposite wall.
The storefront was described as minimalistic, rustic, and terrifying in its openness. The front of the building had no door instead the entryway was framed by three large wooden beams. Beside the entryway were two large cutouts but no windows. The interior of ValeVapid was just was empty. Shelves lined the walls holding folded articles of clothes, and interspaced were some hung in display; however the entire fixture was covered in glass, and the clothes were inaccessible. The clothing fixtures also did not touch the floor. In fact the the only thing touching the floor was a three legged table in the center of the store. On top of the table was a box, punch card catalogs, a punch, and envelopes.
I’ve learned that these were for making purchases. The customers were to punch out the items they wanted. Then they were to place the catalog with cash in the envelope, or write their credit card information on the back of the catalogue, and then place it into the box. The people who wrote their credit card numbers told me at the time it didn’t seem strange and they never were charged for anything other than the clothes.
After completing their purchase they would leave the store, and at the end of the alley they would find a package addressed to them from ValeVapid. Inside The boxes were their purchases and change.
One person I spoke to gave me a business card for ValeVapid, but I seemed to misplace it the instant i put it in my pocket.
