…now I’m super-curious why you like Val/Rosie as a concept, would love to hear your headcanons!
(So with you on Velvette/Cherri, just written a scene with them together in a fic and found myself lowkey shipping it)
this is from back in february but i thought about them again today and finally remembered this ask, so here's what got me into them: a highly specific au scenario from @moomooofdoom and also a few brief lines in fics that opened my eyes to how funny they could be together
possible scenarios:
rosie and val have had a private betting pool on vox & alastor's fights for a few decades but val has no idea that alastor will always win because rosie rigged it in the thirties and so he's thousands of dollars in debt to her at this point and resentful about it
moo's thought about rosie catching her husband cheating on her with a very-new-to-hell val just trying to get his feet under him with sex work, and she kills her husband but decides to make a deal with val to get a safe roof over his head (in return for owing her a little unspecified something) because it's hardly val's fault that her late husband was a licentious scumbag
val sources all of his carnivorous plants from a greenhouse in cannibal town and puts up with rosie's... creepy... everything... in exchange for being allowed to set foot there
val tries to expand his customer base into cannibal town by shooting a cannibal-themed porno with some of rosie's less tight-laced girls but they're so off-putting and creepy on set the whole time that he just sends them all home without filming anything and pretends it never happened. rosie asks him at every overlord meeting when she's going to get to see this film that he promised her; this ring could really use more positive cannibal representation! and he's like haha [gulp]
unbeknownst to vox, val got all of his corsets measured in cannibal town before velvette joined the vees, and rosie was very offended when he stopped coming around to give her the latest vox-related gossip during his fittings since alastor refuses to talk about him anymore and she was kind of invested!
rosie used to hire val in between husbands to satisfy her needs before he became an overlord and now they only sneakily hook up once in a blue moon when both alastor and the other vees are Elsewhere because they don't need to know what doesn't concern them
