loose connections is an absolutely Unhinged soundwave/optimus (continuity agnostic) ill-advised-hookup fic that delighted me greatly. it made me remember how much i enjoy that ship, lol. they should be ill-advised together far more often!! it's very entertaining!!!

i haven't read very much tf fic lately tbh, i've mostly been rereading death note fic oops... oh! bonus shout/out to someone writing an ongoing idw spike/prowl fic that is deeply unhinged and near-perfectly fulfils my idle wishes from a post i made in like 2022 for multiple insane cursed spike/prowl scenarios. i haven't finished that quite yet but im so glad someone Sees The Vision like i do.

Would you ever write the same events from two different points of view, almost as psrsllel stories?

Yes, and I've considered going back and doing this with a story more than once- the contenders were 'if you're looking for a show' (from Rodimus' POV; Megatron is a very unreliable narrator in that one), 'Sunk Costs' (from Drift's POV) and 'clean slate' (Just Horny Reasons TM).

I'd really like to do something like that one day, but I think it tends to work better when planned in advance versus doing that (you can be cleverer with the structure). I think the most obvious pick would be a taraprowl fic, because those two canonically recall events we know objectively happened very differently; or else something playing with Rewind's connections to archive and memory as parts of his character.

okay so basically i just think it would be so goddamn funny if like. okay consider. nautica meets arcee in a bar (there is a very wide berth around arcee, for some mysterious reason, how intriguing!) and has No Idea who she is. like. fully no idea this is the scariest person on the planet period, and yes megatron that unambiguously includes you. she just has a great time chatting to this tall hot pink lady and they have a delightful, straightforward autism-to-autism-communication moment. this results in a completely no-strings-attached one night stand. fun is had by everyone. (arcee is frankly, privately still baffled by the absolutely unprecedented tenor of the entire encounter, but not in. a bad way.)

nautica mentions this down at the bar when they get back from shore leave, and everyone loses their fucking minds.

It's good!! I do find it a little less fun than PnP when it comes to uniquely TF types of sex, though. And sometimes it can get very... idk, over-the-top mysticised and hyper romanticised in a way I find farrrr too sappy, haha. But it's very fun in its own right, especially with the element of danger you can introduce; I wish there was more BDSM fic featuring it in terms of the inherent vulnerability it brings into play, tbh. I think for established couples like CDRW for example, it could be neat to look at how far you could take that with characters engaging with it as like, a trust thing.

Manual stimulation's more fun than "merging" though IMO, like, I want it to look a LITTLE like recognisable sex, idk.

One thing I do dislike is authors using it as some kind of "this is why people ONLY have sex with their ONE TRUE LOVES in this society" thing though. Blah blah fic writers don't be silly about people having had sex before meeting their "soulmate" or whatever, please, I want us to have moved past that by now.
