Vampire Cinder has fought a long, storied rivalry with Huntress Ruby Rose. Their final battle comes, with the eternally young and beautiful Cinder meeting an old, weary Ruby with grey hairs and wrinkles. "Your eyes are as pretty as the day we first met."
Ruby gripped the hilt of her scythe as she made her way closer to the cottage shack rumored to house Cinder. The sun had already started to set, what little light was left made the grey in her hair shine a faint silver. After all these years, she finally had a way to stop Cinder. And she was certain today was going to be the last time she’d have to meet her.
As she reached the door, she kicked it down, thankful that her strength hadnt faded with age. But as she walked in, she was met with glowing amber eyes with red rings around the pupil staring at her from the shadows.
“You could’ve just knocked,” Cinder spoke softly as she stepped out from the shadows and towards the edge of the light, a smile crossing her lips. “Your eyes are still just as pretty as the first time we met.”
Ruby moved her scythe, blade facing Cinder as she readied herself for a fight. “I’ve come to end this.”
Cinder let out a laugh and sat down on her couch. “As you’ve said for years, and yet, here we are, meeting once again. What makes you think this time would be any different?”
Ruby tightened the grip on her scythe and took a step closer to the unintimidated vampire. Her breathing started to slow as she felt her heart race. And yet, nothing she did seemed to phase the vampire in front of her. “I finally have what I need to defeat you.”
“Let me guess, another cross?” Cinder asked as she reached for a nearby wine glass. “Or maybe you have holy water with you. Oh, I know, your blade is made of silver now.”
“I know now that you’re a vampire because of the grimm inside you.”
A frown crossed Cinder’s lips while she grabbed a wine bottle from the rack. “I see. So what, you’re going to blast me with your eyes this time?”
Ruby lowered her scythe, silver eyes still glued to the vampire as she watched her remain unintimidated. And yet, something felt… off. In years past, Cinder would be gloating about keeping the upperhand, for Ruby walking into a trap. And yet, she seemed to not care about any of that. “You’re… not worried.”
“Maybe I want a drink before we get into this fight again.” Cinder poured herself a glass of wine, and then a second before offering it to Ruby. “Join me?”
“How do I know you’re not trying to poison me?” Ruby asked.
Cinder sat the glass down and took a sip from her own. “Suit yourself.”
Ruby folded her weapon up and sat down across from Cinder, still keeping watch over her. She had been in this fight with Cinder for longer than she wanted to count, and yet, this was the first time Cinder hadnt made a move against her. No attempts to turn her, stab her, lead her into a trap, just a pair of wine glasses and what looked to be one of the last bottles of wine that Cinder had.
“Once you’re finished with me, what do you intend to do next?” Cinder asked as she swirled the wine in her glass. “Move on to the next monster? Or do you plan to settle down finally.”
“Why do you care to know?” Ruby reached for the glass in front of her and sniffed it. “You’ll be dead.”
“Just because we’re rivals doesnt mean I cant care about your wellbeing. Your heart, it hasnt stopped racing since you’ve walked in here. You dont have much longer either, do you?”
Ruby looked away. “I’ll be fine-”
“But you wont. Your silver eyes, I know they’re destroying your sight and your heart. How many more times can you use them before you destroy yourself in the process? Dont you have anyone to live for?”
Ruby could only sit in silence at the question. Years ago, she could’ve answered with a resounding yes. But now, her family and friends were just a memory and graves that she visited when she could. When she looked at Cinder, all she could see was pity in the vampire’s eyes.
“You dont, do you?” Cinder more said than asked. “I know how that feels.”
“Again, why do you care?” Ruby finally took a sip of her wine, still not used to the bitter taste. “I’m here to kill you, arent I?”
“Yes, but that doesnt mean you’ll succeed.”
In a flash of an eye, Ruby felt Cinder’s fangs against her neck, unsure of when the vampire had moved. The hand she’d normally use to grab her scythe had been pinned to the couch and she could barely move.
Cinder pulled her fangs away and whispered to Ruby. “I’m still in my prime and you’ve aged well past yours. Using your eyes will be sure to kill us both, and then there’ll be nothing left. No stories of either of us, no one to remember us, just two rivals faded into obscure legend by the few traces we left. Is that really what you want? Or are you just looking for a way to punish yourself?”
Ruby closed her eyes. “If you’re going to kill me, do it.” All she could do was stay still as she felt Cinder’s fangs brush against her neck once more, only to pull away.
“I have no intent to kill you. In fact, I… I’m ready for this rivalry of ours to end.”
Ruby opened her eyes. “I-I dont understand.”
Cinder moved back to her seat and picked up her wine glass. “There’s nothing more for me to gain with it. Turning you or killing you when you were younger would’ve gotten you out of my way, but now… Salem’s gone, vampires are starting to become more accepted and there are other ways to get blood now besides just abducting people to feed from… So, I leave us with a choice: either we both die, or we both get to live out the rest of our lives atoning for what we’ve done.”
Ruby nodded and stood up, her hand reaching for her scythe. She unfolded it one last time, staring at the blade and then at Cinder. She could end it all now, be done with everything. No more Cinder, she’d certainly die, but then again she would die anyway. It was all down to her choice.
And yet, all she could do was drop the scythe onto the coffee table in front of her and start to walk out. “We’re done.”
“You’re not going to finish your wine?” Cinder asked.
“I’m not a fan of the stuff.”
“Then maybe I’ll find you next time we can get something to eat together.”
Ruby paused at the door of the cottage and sighed. “I thought you didnt get anything out of eating.”
“I dont, but I want to make sure that I see you again,” Cinder answered back. “You still deserve someone at your side until its your time to pass.”
“Fine,” Ruby said, waving her off. “Just make sure you dont give me a reason to regret this.”

Ruby, running through the woods late at night, nods at an oncoming fellow late-night jogger: ...
Ruby, slows and begins jogging in place, focusing on the runner's steps behind her: ...
Ruby, whipping around with an accusing point to the treeline after hearing a rustling of leaves, the path now completely empty aside from her: NO! BAD! PUT THEM DOWN!
Ruby, watching angrily as the stranger drops from the treeline and hits the ground with a thud before frantically running off and screaming: I told you not to do that!
Vampire!Cinder, dropping down right in front of Ruby, giving a toothy hiss to a thoroughly unimpressed face: I wanted to see if you were paying attention to me.
Ruby, rolling her eyes: As if you'd ever give me the chance not to.
Is it possible to get a reaction of the rest of team WBY for finding out that Ruby is in fact still alive and joined Salem after a news report of the fall of atlas in the vampire au where Ruby was turned by cinder? Or perhaps in the Salem’s vessel au where Ruby confronts Qrow about what he really does when he goes on missions like Salem suggested.
(Alright, some more of the Ruby turned vampire au. There's... a bit more set up I really should do for this)
Ruby stayed quiet as she walked through the Atlas streets, keeping to the shadows during the short hours the sun was around. Everything about Cinder’s plan to bring Atlas down felt off, almost as if there was information missing about how they were going to obtain the relic and how they were going to use it. And on top of all of that, she still wasnt sure how they were going to infiltrate the academy. Beacon wasnt hard for Cinder to get into, no one knew her. But Atlas… Cinder was known by face due to her actions at Beacon and Ruby, while she was able to clear her name a bit, was a dead woman as far as anyone was concerned.
“What’s your position?” Cinder asked over her earpiece. “You know we dont have much time for this.”
“I’m outside the academy now,” Ruby answered quietly, watching a group of soldiers leave Atlas Academy while another group entered. “This isnt going to work.”
“As long as you follow my instructions, you’ll be fine. Besides, your job is to find the maiden in any way possible.”
Ruby sighed and turned off her earpiece once Cinder went quiet, quietly going over her own part of the plan. Sure, Atlas Academy was busy enough that she could sneak in without issue and few people would recognize her. But on the other hand, if she was caught, then everything she was working for would fall apart. Her team could be hurt by Salem or even by Atlas once they found out her death was faked.
Still, she didnt have much of an option if she wanted her friends and family to be safe. She closed her eyes to focus as Cinder taught her, shifting into a small bat and made her way into Atlas, keeping towards the ceiling to remain out of sight. After hours of flying around, listening to soldiers, desk workers, and Ironwood, she finally found where the winter maiden was being held. Though, following Winter through the hallways to slip into the room and hide until she was alone was much harder than she thought.
Ruby shifted in a shadowed corner, turning her earpiece on once more, voice shaking as she spoke. “I… I found her. Now what?”
“Turn on your scroll’s beacon and I’ll find you.”
“And then what? She’s deep in the academy and the second you get those powers, we’ll get caught.”
“Leave that to me.”
“But Cinder-”
“You will trust me and let me do my job. Do you understand?”
“Fine…” Ruby said as she pulled out her scroll and turned on the beacon to let Cinder find her. Just one mission, that’s all she needed and she could be done. She could finally relax, watch her teammates in the shadows to keep them safe, and no longer have Salem breathing down her neck. She listened to the seconds tick on her scroll as she waited for Cinder to come, freezing as she watched the secure door open, coming face to face with a huntress with icy blue eyes and a scar across her left eye.
Yang sighed as she put her daughter to bed, pausing as she saw a picture of herself, Ruby, and Blake on the wall above the crib. Her heart ached a bit as she stared at the picture of her sister, thinking back to how Ruby had acted just a few short years ago. Sure, Yang believed Ruby when she said that she wasnt part of why Beacon fell, it became harder to believe it over the years after watching Ruby pull away and become less present in their lives.
“Everything okay, Yang?” Blake asked, putting a hand on her wife’s shoulder. “You said putting her down would be quick.”
“She’s fast asleep and laid down without a fuss.” Yang finally looked away from the picture on the wall and to Blake, giving her a sad smile. “Just thinking about Ruby.”
“I miss her too. We can go visit her grave-”
“We both know it's empty.”
“But it’ll help. Its been a few months since we’ve gone to see her anyway.”
Yang let out a soft sigh, knowing Blake was right. Even if the grave was empty, it still helped to visit and talk to her like Ruby used to do with their mother. “We can go in the morning and take Bella with us.”
Blake smiled a bit and leaned against Yang. “In that case, now that she’s asleep and we have a little time on our own, we can sit down and watch a few shows without getting interrupted.”
Yang nodded and gently walked Blake back out to the front room, sitting down with her wife and trying to relax as her mind calmed. She flipped the tv back on with the remote, a small smile crossing her lips as she pulled Blake close and pulled a blanket over the two of them. It was finally going to be a quiet night, just the two of them.
The tv flickered for a moment as the Emergency Broadcast system took over, cutting every channel off from its programming as Weiss came up on screen. Her hands shook as she held her side and the faint sound of grimm alarms could be heard behind her as she spoke. “People of Remnant, Atlas… Atlas needs help. Grimm are swarming the streets and our army isnt enough. We need help evacuating as many people as we can. I dont know if this message is getting out-” she paused for a moment as she stumbled on camera, almost cursing under her breath as she caught herself. “-and I dont know how much longer we have, but its time for the world to know about a war that has been taking place in the shadows. There’s a woman who controls the grimm, known as Salem, who orchestrated the fall of Beacon. Cinder, and the former huntress Ruby Rose are assisting her-”
The broadcast cut out, going right back to the programming that was showing before. Yang slowly tried to relax herself as she felt her entire body clench at the idea of another city, another academy, falling to the grimm. The fingers on her mechanical hand clicked as she shook as she held Blake close. Hearing Ruby’s name casted more doubt into her, no longer sure what the truth was or what Ruby’s role was in all of this, but all of those memories of Beacon falling she had pushed away had started to come back. Ruby slicing into Pyrrha with her scythe, killing Penny to save Cinder… everything that could’ve been explained with Emerald’s semblance all now made more sense that Ruby had been working with Cinder the entire time.
“Everything will be fine, I’m sure its just someone using Ruby’s name,” Blake said as she slowly got up.
“You’re going to Atlas, arent you?”
Blake nodded. “They need huntsmen. And if Ruby really is alive, is there helping bring down another school… I need to be there for Weiss.”
Yang stood up and pulled Blake into a kiss, hugging her tightly. “Promise me you’ll come home in one piece. For me and our daughter.”
Blake purred into the kiss. “Always. I’ll always come home to you.”

!Vampire Cinder visits this nightclub often, she managed to control her hunger by drinking blood off animals until she notices Ruby Rose, she can't resist her and convinces Emerald to lure her in.
Emerald is tempted too,but Cinder doesn't want to share her prey.
Ruby is both scared and attracted by her
Ruby's smell drives Cinder insane,as she loses her senses while she drinks from her (arm or neck you choose)
Ruby wakes up in her castle feeling sore and numb.
Emerald tells her that it's been centuries since Cinder has been fascinated by a mortal, and that the last one was an ancestor that looked a lot like her, but didn't survive like she did.
Ruby is dumbstruck by seeing a vintage photo of her in Cinder's room.
Cinder eyed the crowd of the nightclub as the night went on, the music pounded in her ears as she leaned against a back wall. This had become a painful routine for her as she let out a sigh. “See anyone that’s worth it tonight?”
“Not exactly,” Emerald said as she made her way back to Cinder. “Are you sure you want one of them? They’re not exactly…”
“No, but this is the easiest spot to feed from.” Cinder sighed and closed her eyes as she listened to the crowd for anyone that wouldnt be missed. “And animals arent doing it for me anymore.”
“And what exactly do you plan to do?”
“I dont…” Cinder paused as she heard a voice that was familiar to her and opened her eyes. She slowly moved away from the wall and paused when she saw a girl with red streaks “Emerald, think you can convince her to come with us?”
Emerald looked at the girl that Cinder saw and smirked. “Then we can take turns with her?”
“No, she’s mine.”
“Right…”
“Besides,” Cinder started to walk to the bar to grab a couple drinks. “You do this for me now and I’ll make sure you get rewarded.”
Emerald sighed and walked through the crowd to the door. She put up a small smile for the girl and gently bumped into her. “Sorry about that.”
Ruby turned to Emerald and smiled back. “Its fine, I wasnt exactly paying attention and I was going to leave anyway.”
“Leave? But the night is just getting started. You should have fun.”
“Yeah but its getting a bit late-”
Emerald gently took Ruby’s arm and looked deep into her eyes. “But then you’ll be missing out on all the fun. And I know someone who would absolutely like to get to know you.”
Ruby paused for a moment and slowly nodded. “Y-yeah, sure, I’ll come with you.”
Emerald nodded and started to pull Ruby through the crowd and back to a quiet table where Cinder was waiting. “I never did catch your name. I’m Emerald.”
“Ruby.” Ruby took a few breaths to keep herself calm as she was pulled through the nightclub. “Its… a bit loud here, isnt it?”
“Yeah, but its all about the atmosphere.” Emerald stopped at the table and motioned to Cinder. “And this is Cinder.”
Cinder slowly stood up and gave a smile as she gently took her hand. “My name is Cinder. And you are?”
“I’m… Ruby.” Ruby slowly pulled back, unable to keep her eyes off Cinder. The hair on the back of her neck stood up at Cinder’s voice. “I-I was just going to leave-”
“And miss out on all the fun?” Cinder moved closer to Ruby and took a deep breath. She leaned forward a bit and struggled to keep her fangs hidden. “I insist that you stay.”
Ruby nodded and slowly sat down. “So, Cinder, what exactly was your plan for fun?”
Cinder sat back and down and pushed a glass of rum to Ruby. “I just want you to relax.”
Ruby took the glass and made a quick drink. She smiled a bit as she relaxed. “Alright, I’ll relax.”
Cinder moved closer to Ruby and gently kissed her neck just before she sank her teeth into her. With a small moan, she started to drink from Ruby and lost herself in her aroma. After a few moments, she pulled back and gave a grin to Ruby. “I think its time for you to come home with me.”
Ruby slowly nodded as her head spun and her vision started to blur as she stood up. Her words slurred a bit as she spoke. “I’ll… I’ll follow you.” The further she walked, the more everything started to swirl around in front of her. Colors and light started to blend together until she fell forward.
As light came through a window, she slowly woke up and looked around the room she found herself in. Her neck felt sore as she stretched a bit just before being startled by Emerald. “E-Emerald…”
“You’re finally up.” Emerald sat down a tray of food and water next to Ruby’s bed. “Cinder’s taken a liking to you.”
“I guess I’m not sure why. We just barely met.”
“Because you remind her of someone from her past.”
“From her past?” Ruby paused once she saw a portrait of someone who looked like her above the mantle of the fireplace. She got up and started to walk over to get a better look. “She… looks just like me…”
“Cinder thinks you are her descendant. Someone she loved a long time ago but wasnt able to survive.”
“What killed her?”
Emerald started to walk off. “Cinder did when she tried to mark her as hers. Though, you seemed to survive the process without issue.”
Ruby hesitated and caught a glance of a small mark on the back of her neck. She lowered the collar of her shirt to see a small tattoo of two heels in the shape of a heart in blood red ink. “So… this is what she meant by fun.”
