“I’m not sure I fully understand this game,” Cinder said as she looked over the toy gun in her hand. “And how does this… toy track points?”
“It tracks from the vest,” Ruby answered as she tapped the shoulder of the vest Cinder wore. “But the idea is to shoot those on the other team and to get as many points as you can. There are readers on the vest that activate when the infrared laser shoots them. Aim for their shoulders, back, and chest, and you’ll be fine.”
“What do we get for winning?”
“Bragging rights mostly.”
“And we care about that… why?”
Ruby finished getting her own vest in. “Weiss and Yang always win, so the bragging rights would mostly just be to get back at them.”
Cinder nodded and smiled as she stepped out of the starting area. “Then lets get you that win.”
“You really think we can?”
Cinder didnt answer, crouching down behind the first wall before peeking up a bit. As soon as she saw the lights from Yang’s and Weiss’s vests, she took a few shots at them and gained a few points from hitting them. When she crouched behind the wall again, she could feel her heart pounding in her chest. “This feels… thrilling.”
“Its a lot more fun than you thought, isnt it?” Ruby asked with a smile. “See why I like this so much?”
“Once we’re done here, then we can do something you want to do.”
“Or maybe we can do another round of this,” Cinder said as she peeked over again to hit Weiss once more. “I’m… I’m having a lot of fun with this.”
