dísaþing Dísablót is a festival known as the time to sacrifice and make offerings to the Disir, or Landdisir -- the feminine spirits of the land I discussed in my earlier post. It happens at the beginning of Winter. I am late now but just learning about it, I think I will make a “late celebration” for this day as the Disir are known to guard specific lands and areas. Lavish banquets are customary for this festival, but as a solitary practitioner I could make a homemade meal with all the fixings and it be customary enough to count as a banquet for the Disir. I would bring an offering outside and set the feast at the foot of a tree or in the garden for the creatures of the land to feast on it but importantly for the Disir to accept as well. I should do this along w/ my Lemon Sun Cake offering to ask for a blessing for the garden. This is to ask for help with the coming planting season at February 1st, Imbolc and the dísaþing . There is also the “ dísaþing “ or the Disir Assembly that happens now, at the beginning of February -- assuming this lines up with the official End of Winter that happens with Imbolc. I am marking these in my list of holy days to implement into my craft and path.
