Looking back on the past character exits and it's making me hate the show's writing more.

Al was killed off due to plot

They ruined Antonio by making him an addict

They don't say a word about what happened to Rojas

They ruined Jay by having him ghost and leave Hailey

Jay's leave affecting Hailey's character eventually leading her to move out of Chicago to start over somewhere else

I will stand by the fact that Antonio has the worst character exit in all of PD. I can’t say for all three shows because I haven’t watched Med, but I’m sure he’s up there. I know nobody in Fire had a worse exit. It is ridiculous.

They did ruin Jay. I hated that. And not to mention he was all righteous about Mouse not going back in, then he did the exact thing, what, seven seasons later? And it’s not because of Voight. It’s just not. Voight told Jay to not change who he is. He asked him to stay. Jay was the one being crazy and it just made no sense that he would just up and leave his wife instead of transferring to a different unit altogether.

I never cared about Rojas, but I do remember her just not being there anymore. Just a weird thing.

They never should’ve killed Al. And that’s really what I have to say about that.

And as for Hailey’s exit? I’m sick of people complaining about it. She had the best exit out of anyone. Period. And Jay’s leaving didn’t “change her,” the writers just decided after 5 years to actually give her a personality outside of being Jay’s girl. They did the same with Erin. I’m sick of these women being defined by the pretty boy they date. I loved Erin when she wasn’t with Jay. After that, she lost all real personality. Same with Hailey.

Again, Antonio’s exit was the WORST. No closure. No nothing. Just popping oxy in his car and then he up and moved to Puerto Rico. That’s it. Disgusting. No airport scene, no begging him to stay. No nothing. Why should Jay get that and not Antonio, who Hank clearly cared about way more than he ever did Jay?? I mean, did anyone realize how close the two characters were? How bonded? It’s ridiculous that we got NOTHING out of his write-off.

Anyways, that’s all.

God I love the women of Chicago P.D. All of them are great and beautiful and smart and have so much personality and flaws and redeeming qualities and anger and passion and spirals, fuck I'll kill for them
