It is said that the manor on top of the hill is haunted by a terrible beast. The tales around the tavern tables is that the noble living there made a pact with Nagash to gain eternal life as a vampire, but couldn't control the beast within and what members of the household staff that didn't manage to flee were torn to shred as he transformed into a savage monster. On particularly still nights it's said that one can hear a terrible howl coming from the now ruined estate. ***
To my great surprise I managed to score a Wolf Yoghurt Vargskyr (yes, skyr is an icelandic dairy product) from an auction a week ago and it arrived last friday. At first I wanted to paint it up like a proper bat, in this case a Parti-coloured one, but couldn't get the shades just right. The golden underside ended up look a bit like coffee after wash and attempts to fix that turned underwhelming. So instead, after some looking around, I decided to harken back to another classic bat monster, namely the Varghulf Courtier.
Once all the colours were picked the whole thing was a breeze to paint and I did most of it in a day, except for one arm that had served as test subject and had to be stripped, and the base. Almost managed to snap the rat off the rock as I was pushing it down into the peg. A downside of doing subassemblies I suppose. Pegs with tight fits really don't like primer.
Sadly the only Cursed City model I've managed to get my hands on, so far atl east.
