another art dump but instead its mostly dutch bcuz for some reason he's so fun to draw???? this is also mostly younger dutch first two pics is dutch and hosea bcuz vandermatthews is taking over my life
I literally can't NOT view Hosea and Dutch's belongings as something they had given to each other because they saw it and were like "this reminded me of you" or "I saw it and knew you'd certainly love it". The smallest of items and they literally cannot help themselves.
Hosea's green / red scarf he has? Dutch gave it to him, said he thought he'd like it and he was 100% correct. This goes along with his red handkerchief he ties around his neck. Each were given in his mid 30s.
That hat Dutch has? Yeah. Hosea had conveniently bought it( he stole it for Dutch—) because he knew that was Dutch's style. He had given it to him in his late 20s.
This goes for mundane stuff too btw, could literally be a blanket or rug, maybe a jacket, or a item of jewelry they had " found".
young hosea and dutch is hosea teaching him how to properly fight and lecturing his stance and guard while he forces him down—> "and what will you do if that ain't gonna work?"
"I won't have to worry cause I know you'll always be there to save me" ...
this but young vdms
Achilles, come down.. but it's Dutch and Hosea.. and specifically these lines::
"The self is not so weightless, not whole and unbroken, remember the pact of our youth.
Where you go, I'm going.
So jump and I'm jumping,
Since there is no me without You."
This could either be the younger years of Dutch pulling Hosea out of his darker days hidden in alcohol and grievances. Or, Hosea talking to 1907 Dutch and that's.. that's all I am saying ......(correction:: an au where hosea lives ))
what do you think would be vandermatthew's favorite song to dance to?
Okay, so- The ones that I COULD find, and thought would be their style ;
Charles K. Harris — After The Ball (Late 1800s )
Michael William Balfe(? ) — Then You'll Remember Me from 'The Bohemian Girl' (1843)
John McCormack — Come Into The Garden, Maud (Late 1800s )
I know songs could have a singular meaning, depending on which, but I mostly find that the feel of these is what would make me think they might dance to them!! I wassss contemplating adding Daisy Bell but the tone always gave me the chills for whatever reason (still a very lovely tune nonetheless lmao )
Vent du Mont Schärr - i need a rug cleaner
