“Girl’s night out, huh?” Vegeta stood in the bathroom doorway rubbing a towel through his wet hair. “What does that entail, exactly?”
Bulma was applying her makeup, dressed to kill, and Vegeta wasn’t too keen on letting her go out looking like that, especially without him. “Dinner, maybe a club afterwards. Just time for us girls to hang out, talk, and enjoy ourselves.”
Humph. “And no men, right?”
“Hence the whole girl’s night out.” She gave her husband a sideway glance as he sat down on their bed. “Why, you wanna come or somethin’?”
“Maybe.” He shrugged.
Shocked, Bulma turned completely around on her vanity bench, powder brush rested in her fingers. “Seriously?! But you never want to go anywhere with me! Especially places where there will be crowds of people everywhere.”
He scowled. “Crowds hmm?” Maybe he didn’t want to go. “With you two women strutting around dressed like that?”
“Like what?” Bulma turned back to her mirror with a roll of her bright, blue eyes. “This is how ladies dress when they do girl’s night out.”
“Judging by your appearance, this practice seems to involve picking up men. Not a married woman’s activity, if you ask me.”
“That can be a part of it, but that’s not what it’s intended for.”
“It’s intended to get you away from men, then. Correct?” There was a twinge of hurt in his voice.
“It’s intended to give us ladies a break from our men, yes. Goodness knows we need those sometimes!” She turned around again and was a little taken aback by the rather sad look in her husband’s eyes. “Aww, Geta… Seriously, am I hurting your feelings going without you?”
He looked away with a huff. “Of course not!”
“Oh my Kami, you think I’m doing this to get away from you!” She laughed, but not cruelly.
“Forget it.”
“No, Vegeta.” She sighed. “You can come, if you really want to. I know Ana would love it if you came. She’s so fond of you. And you know I am always trying to drag you places. I just don’t know why this time is different?”
“I’ve been… bored lately.” He shrugged and gave her one of his rare smiles.
She leaped up and threw her arms around his neck, knocking him back onto the bed. They laughed and Bulma sighed. “God I wish you’d smile and laugh like this more often, and in front of people, other than just me. It’s extremely adorable!” She kissed him, but gingerly. “Don’t wanna mess up my face.” She pulled away, but let her fingers slide down his chest and stomach, before returning to her vanity. “Get yourself dressed, mister, and you’d better look as dashing as I look sexy. Got it!”
“Can’t make any promises.” He moved to the large, walk-in closet and started flipping through his clothing.
