That ask you recently answered is one of my biggest conundrums in Ghostface fic because I know if I write the other character too willing he’d lose interest
Yeah, it's a fine line you have to try and balance on.
On the one hand, Danny is a narcissist. Positive attention feeds his ego, and that is like crack for him. But conversely his ego and self image is so inflated that people showing interest in him is just assumed. He's amazing, of course everyone is into him. (He takes rejection super well.)
Ultimately I've found it best to lean into his obsessive stalking tendencies. He watches people, slowly formulating his perfect design for their deaths. But who's to say when watching someone he doesn't find something about them interesting enough to let them live for a little bit longer?
And maybe they just warrant closer observation.
