mental image of one of anora's handmaidens fetching the queen and king from their bedchambers for some urgent business and verano is just also there

something something there was already rumors of the fereldan leadership being In Bed With The Wardens w the vigils keep thing & the king supposedly being one himself but this is next level

though i dont think it becomes a huge scandal or anything. ig sidenote i do think any elves that work in the castle are fairly fond of verano. i think he checks in on them and such when he visits and its prolly an open secret among them that he (& zev ?) has some sort of thing with the king but like if the king is gonna have a secret lover they much rather it be the handsome warden commander who drinks and plays cards with them and always checks in on their working conditions. like, i think alistair and anora are decent towards servants but theres gonna be enough of a wall there that therell surely be plenty they never notice. but if verano's not armored up he just looks like some random dalish dude so he can navigate these spaces more easily and weed out the bad apples moreso

though now i'm also thinking about sera knowing about him from the friends of red jenny cuz i think shed get such a kick out of this

been gradually leaning from a more silly/fun 'verano and zevran have two hands' approach with him and alistair to something kind of messier especially considering he makes alistair king with anora so id expect thered be some. complicated emotions there + generally like similar to most alistair romances he'd get kinda sorta broken up with or have to be an affair partner of sorts. and i don't think verano's doing that lol at least he's not like. committing to it?

idk. it can be a wardenzevistair situation during the blight but then things get serious with the landsmeet and start to fall apart. i'll have to ponder it more. considering too that while i dont think zevran and verano would mind Too much the idea of messing w alistair from time to time on visits i do think like. verano would quietly feel some kinda way about it and alistair would Very much feel some kinda way about it. especially considering marics. everything. idk. (imagining the comics being canon to this tl and having the convo with maric and oughhhhh)

i dont remember if alistairs hardened in veranos playthru but since idt he is in taeha/lockes tl then maybe he would be here... hm. and it could kinda make sense w the direction things take. idk. souping them
