Identity of the Day
Androgyne
Type: Gender
Definition: Androgyne is a label used by those who's gender is a mix of man and woman or masculine and feminine, and by those who's gender is in some way androgynous. The amount in which one feels masculine and feminine doesn't have to be equal, and for some the amounts may shift. It is a part of the multigender umbrella. It is also a part of the nonbinary, transgender, and genderqueer umbrellas, though not everyone who uses this label considers themself to be either of these as well. Those who are Femandrogyne have a gender that is more feminine than it is masculine. Those who are Mascandrogyne have a gender that is more masculine than feminine. Neutrandrogyne has two possible meanings, it can be used by those who's gender is equality masculine and feminine, as well as by those who are partially masculine, feminine, and androgynous in gender, it is sometimes used interchangeably with Versandrogyne which has its own definition. Those who are Versandrogyne have a gender in which the amount of masculine and feminine shift. Androgyne is not androgynous, androgynous is a gender expression that mixes masculine and feminine. Not all who are Androgyne will present androgynous. Some who are Androgyne may identify as Bigender as well.

This is an alternate Androgyne flag posted by Pride-Flags-For-Us in March 2015. The black and white stripes are used to represent how, even as a nonbinary identity, Androgyn feels slightly more binary than other nonbinary identities, instead blending the binary man and woman together. The blue stripe represents masculinity, weather that be in identity, expression, or aesthetic, as well as those who are on the more masculine side of Androgyne, as well as the masculine traits those who are Androgyne have. The pink stripe represents femininity, weather that be in identity, expression, or aesthetic, as well as those who are on the more feminine side of Androgyne, as well as the feminine traits those who are Androgyne have. The purple stripe represents the blending of masculine and feminine to make the unique identity of Androgyne as well as the nonbinary nature of the identity.
