“perhaps you’re right.” it would come to a surprise to most that she lets the android stay with her instead of return it to the person that had purchased it but she’s grown fond. and, in truth, the idea that a human would take out anger on a machine is ridiculous enough that she’s decided the idiot man didn’t deserve an android. at least not one of this particular make. “i suppose it’s time to return to the house. come.”

Dyns grinned. He hadn’t been sure what to expect when he first approached the woman. But he was glad to see she seemed to like him. At least. More than anyone else he’d known. Which pretty much had only been his father. He looked up at her with all the innocent affection a child often had for their parent, signing quickly. “Ok. Can I come to work with you again tomorrow?” Without giving the action any thought, he grabbed one of her hands, still grinning.

Peter can’t focus. He can’t focus on anything; all he can think about is CyberLife. How they’re going to find him, and shut him down. It’s the reason why he’s been so hesitant towards deviancy, even with Tony’s constant reassurance. He’s a prototype, which means they must have already caught onto the irregularities in his system. Now it’s simply a game of WAITING,waiting for when they’ll eventually strike.

He doesn’t realize he’s simply sitting and staring at the wall, his LED flickering from blue, to yellow, to red, with even the mere thought of being taken. He doesn’t even notice Dyns coming to sit down next to him, until the other’s fingers wrap around his hand. Synthetic skin meets synthetic skin, and an unnecessary breath of air catches in his throat as he looks towards the child android. “Sorry…distracted.”

Dyns holds the hand a little tighter. He recognized that sort of distracted. A lot of grown ups got that kinda distracted. The kind where they’re thinking about things they don’t want to and letting themselves get upset over it. Most of the time, when he asked, it was the sort of distracted that had to do with being a deviant, and the fear every single deviant seemed to have- they’d be found by CyberLife.

He wants Peter to know that it’s going to be ok. Somehow. Dyns was a deviant and he was ok. And Peter was better than Dyns. So he would definitely be ok. Part of the problem with telling the teenage android that though was that Dyns also didn’t want to let go of his hand.

The LED on his temple spun yellow while he tried to come up with a solution to the problem.

DUM-E wasn’t really sure what the other android meant, but he knew his dad wasn’t always the nicest person. He nodded and stepped aside, letting Dyns in. “I need to ask Tony first, but it should not be a problem. We have a lot of space.” DUM-E knew his own dad liked his android friend, but he had been taught to always ask Tony first, so he would.

Dyns grinned and hopped inside. He’d decided earlier in his walk over that he wanted to hop today. And so he was. Not all the time or it would take to long to get places. But certainly more often than normal. He signed, bouncing in place. “Ok. If Mr. Stark doesn’t want me to stay over that’s ok.” He wasn’t sure it was ok. But his programming said very strictly to not be at a place come dark. He needed to be home, or at a friends house. He couldn’t just... not be somewhere. If he couldn't stay here, he’d have no choice but to go home again. And he didn’t want to be there today. “Are you really going to go to school? With normal kids?”

Open RP - Android AU (can adjust for fandoms like DBH or Humans, etc)

Marcus was lounging with his feet up on the desk, laptop balanced precariously on his thighs as lines of code were added to the string of commands being written into the body sat neatly on his workbench. The body didn't look too dissimilar to the inventor himself; shorter, with slightly longer hair so the curls were more prominent but, other than that, they could have been brothers.

When the door opened, Marcus' hand left his keyboard to hang in the air. "Unless you've brought coffee, I don't want to talk to you right now. I'm almost done." He said firmly, wiggling his fingers without turning to look as he waited for the offering from his guest.

Headcannon:

In his normal android verse, Dyns's skin is as much part of him as a humans. It feels very similar though he does tend to run a little colder then a human child. Also, small abrasions don't bleed. The fluid one might consider blood is located only in his deeper components. It does take time and redirected automated effort however to heal unless a manufacturer or service department is contacted. This is of particular concern to Dyns as his father leaves cuts and even bruises on him. To bruise the android is no easy feat- the man is hitting him hard enough to cause minor damage to internal components.

In his Detroit: Become Human verse, Dyns has a tendency to drop the skin on his hands when he feels safe. Not only to interface with other androids or electronics. He'll do so even when holding the hand of a human. He doesn't know why other androids interface like that. But he thinks of it as a show of trust. Because that's part of what he really is and it's him being willing to share it with someone. Particularly since, being a child, no one as a rule is trying to interface with him.

His smile fades, “oh, I’m sorry to hear that. I was hoping it would have been fun.” He says, then he shrugs, and his smile returns. “Well, it isn’t the end of the world, yes? We can find other fun activities.”

Dyns looked at the ground, as if his shoes would make it better somehow. he signed very quietly, glancing up at the adult deviant from time to time without holding eye contact. “Maybe I’m broken. Maybe real kids find it fun and I don’t. Maybe I’m not able to have fun.” The child stared at his hands, bottom lip quivering as the LED he refused to have removed spun yellow.

Android Dyns. Consider someone realizing that the little boy has deviated from his program. Consider said person realizing that because he’s a child even other deviant androids are likely to trust him. Consider that same person telling Dyns that they need his help to find the other deviant androids. That those grown up androids are sick and need help and if he finds them than what he’s really doing is helping to save them. He’ll be a hero if he goes and finds the other deviants. All of them. One by one if need be. 

And he’d do it. Because he’s a kid and he trusts whoever is taking care of him at the moment and this is his chance to show that he’s not useless and stupid. He’s super helpful and good.

Dyns accidentally being a traitor to other androids who have deviated from their programming because he thinks he’s helping.

“I don’t want to be afraid. The deeper that I go, it takes my breath away, soft hearts, electric souls.” There’s something about this child that’s…gotten to him. Connor is still unfamiliar with what’s going on, with what may be happening to him, QUESTIONS without answers swarming him. “Heart to heart and eyes to eyes. Is this taboo?”

The little LED on the deviant’s temple spun an angry red. Every second that the cop stood there the boy’s stress was rising. A tiny warning in the back of his mind saying he was nearing 75% now. Too much higher and he’d just--- But he didn’t want to. But the thought of it made him more stressed. A cycle only aggravated by the grown up.

Hands shaking, Dyns tried again to sign quickly. Explain why he’d run away from home. Why he had broken his programming and left and wasn’t never ever going back ever.

“Fear is ok. Sometimes fear is what protects you. Fear protected me. It’s ok to be afraid. It’s ok to let me go. I won’t hurt anyone I promise. Don’t let them hurt me.”
