feel free to push this to the bottom of your ask-to-do-list, but rereading your frankenstan and nikola stuff brought a thought to mind. if stan, as a cat, were to die and for some reason not turn into a human corpse, and ford was traumatized/mentally unstable enough to resurrect his cat: wouldnt it be fucked up if being frankenstan'd as a cat made him permanently stuck as a cat. like the curse broke incorrectly, or fords franken-magic messed with it somehow.

like, stan wouldnt KNOW that ofc. and ford probably(?) wouldnt be able to detect the curse on nikola anymore, so this could just be stan chillin as a pet cat for the rest of his life. ((maybe he can detect *a* curse but cant break it w/ is anti curse spell and it drives him up the wall and stans sweating watching his brother get pissed at his catcurse)) BUT CONSIDER THE ANGST IF FORD DID FIND OUT HIS CAT WAS STAN and the reason he can't fix it is because he died :))) or because ford used weird magic to bring his cat back to life :)))) that is all thank you for your time

Hmmm. Yeah this would either go perma cat Stan who no one ever realizes was Fords cat until they meet again in the afterlife and Ford double kills him with his bare ghost hands, or go the route of @artistredfox fic 'Whats the matter, Cat got your tongue?' where Ford spends thirty years trying to break the curse on Stan, with the additional angst of Ford knowing his brother died and is only alive through magical necromatic means.

The only difference would be if everyone else knew Nikola was Stan, or if Ford kept that fact to himself, or if Ford told everyone, but they think he lost it through grief, and let him do his little magic experiments as a way to work through it, and are surprised as the twins are when Ford proudly shows Stan off when he's human again.
