THERE IS A GOAT PEOPLE FACTION IN AGE OF SIGMAR?
Let Me Be Your Wings
So I saw a post just before my computer shut down (sorry I was gone so long without word, guys!) and y'all know how I can't let a thing rest without writing it, so I decided to write a Hyrule fic for the Feathered AU!
This is more a companion piece and not at all crucial to the plot, but I needed the wing AU for Reasons and just used this because I'm already writing for it.
@telemna-hyelle this is for you! Both as an apology for still not finishing your Raven fic, but also because I know how much you love ZeLink! I hope you like it!
I used the song Let Me Be Your Wings from Don Bluth's Thumbelina here, so I'd definitely suggest listening to that!!!
Notes: Young fairies are born non-binary and can choose what they want to be when they are of age, at which point their great fairy mother will help them through the process of claiming their chosen gender (because otherwise they are genderless for life). During his first adventure, Hyrule had not yet chosen what he wanted, and his pronouns were they/them. After a few years, however, he chose to be a he/him, and his Mama (Navi) helped him adjust to that. His wings came in shortly after and reflect his gender, something which pleases him very much.
(Just wanted to share this in case anyone was confused by the change of pronouns. The others didn’t misgender him, he just is male now. 😊)

“When will my wings come, Mama?” Link asked softly, staring up at their mama from their place floating in her pool. The little fairy nymph had been waiting for years now, watching as their sisters each slowly took to the sky to explore the world outside. Link had followed after them, walking on his Hylian legs and exploring the country until he had become lost.
Mama has fussed for ages over them when they’d come home, scarred and tired and a full year older, with two pieces of the triforce on their hand and an adventure under their belt. Link had been scolded fiercely for wandering off, but Mama had never forced them to stay, only worrying whenever they went out again.
It had been a few years since that time, and Mama had moved to Hyrule with them to keep watch over them and the princess as the kingdom was slowly pulled together from where Ganon’s forces had shredded it to pieces. The towns and villages were growing and Princess Zelda had started training soldiers to protect the kingdom again. Most days, Link joined her, lending their own skill to her efforts, but today was different. Today was their day off, when Zelda would pack them a basket of food and personally kick them off of the training field so they could go and rest. Usually, they wandered around for a while and eventually came here, sharing the sweet things in the basket they’d been given with their sisters and swimming in Mama’s pool as she fussed and cooed over them, their sisters playing in their curly hair and their stomach full of the lovely things that Zelda made for them to eat.
Today though, they’d wandered in directly, a frown on their face as they’d dipped into Mama’s pool.
And as their question rung in the air, Mama drifted closer to them, smiling gently as her eyes glowed soft and warm. “When you are ready, leanbh, they will come.”
“But I want to fly.” They pouted softly, golden gaze trailing up to where their sisters fluttered overhead. “I want to fly with my sisters, but I can’t without wings.”
Mama smiled softly, scooping them up in her hands, bringing them up to stare into her bright eyes that shone with love and warmth. “Let me be your wings than, croí milis, I will help you fly until your wings come.” Mama’s big hand raised over their head, fingers brushing together softly as a stream of fairy dust rained down on them, her smile bright as she blew softly into her hand, sending them tumbling over the tips of her fingers with a giggle as they floated about in the air, glimmering dust giving them the power to drift about lightly as their sisters giggled and fussed about them, darting past and tugging their hair playfully as they clumsily pushed themselves through the air after.
Mama smiled over at them, humming softly until their sisters were chittering and pleading. “Sing, great fairy! Sing for us, please! Sing for our little brother! Please, we love your voice and your songs!”
And sing Mama did, voice rich and lilting in the way that they’d never heard from any of those in Catalia or Hyrule. “Let me be your wings.” She crooned softly, making their sisters giggle and dart about in delight. “Let me be your only love, let me take you far beyond the stars!” Mama’s eyes shone softly as she sang, and she swayed softly as they clumsily danced to her voice, their own smile abashed and hopeful as pride sparked in her gaze. “Let me be your wings; let me lift you high above! Everything we're dreaming of will soon be ours.”
They giggled at that, and Mama’s smile brightened as she fluttered her own wings, rising from her pool to dance with them, giant hands taking their own and gently spinning them in the air as she continued to sing. “Anything that you desire, anything at all! Every day, I'll take you higher, and I'll never let you fall!”
“You will be my wings,” They sang, voice warbling softly and nervously as Mama continued to guide them through the air with an ease that one day they might also achieve. “You will be my only love-”
“For now.” Mama whispered, and the words startled them so much that they choked on the next set of words that had come to their mind, tumbling forwards in the air to bump against Mama’s shoulder with a curious look on their swiftly flushing face. Mama’s smile was knowing, golden eyes glimmering as giggled softly.
“’Rule.” Legend’s sharp eyes stared down at him, a feat only made possible by the fact that he was sitting at the moment. “Why didn’t you tell anyone?”
“I thought it would be a bother.”
His wings fluttered softly behind him, free again and no longer hidden in the wake of discovering his mentor’s own feathery pair. It had taken forever before they could get Legend to accept his wings, but Hyrule liked to think that showing his mentor his own wings had helped with that at least a little. Legend’s own wings, pink and plush and finally healthy again after all their hard work, were flared ever so slightly in an effort to make Legend look bigger as he delivered his reproachful stare which was made entirely ineffective by the slight smile pulling at his lips every other second.
“A bother?”
“We have so much to do,” He explained. “There’s still monsters out there and it would be selfish of me to ask. Besides, we weren’t even in my time when it came! It wouldn’t have mattered anyways...”
Sharp violet sparked knowingly as Legend dropped slowly down to sit in front of them, smile fully bloomed now to match those of the others as they all stared at him. “But do you want to?” Legend prodded, prompting a flush to rise up his cheeks while his mentor watched him, Legend’s long ears flicking every so often while Hyrule continued to blush and try and hide behind his long bangs.
“Yes.” It was whispered in the faintest of voices, but trust Legend and his bluppee ears to catch the sound, a wide smile settling over the vet’s face as the teen leapt back up, grabbing his hand and pulling him up to stumble after the pink-haired hero.
“I thought so, come on, we’re going to have to find you something suitable, unless of course there’s something waiting for you at the castle?”
He flushed under the vet’s sharp gaze, but shook his head. “Anything there is probably too small now; I’ve had a growth spurt recently.”
The other teen nodded knowingly, sharp eyes sweeping over him and coming to rest on his face. Legend’s bangs swung into his eyes as he cocked his head, holding his hands out as if to frame Hyrule between his fingers as the vet scowled in thought. Hyrule let him do it; his mentor had something on his mind and he knew better than to ask what it was while Legend circled him slowly, the captain coming to join with a smirk of his own, and royal blue eyes darting from him to Legend with a soft twinkle.
“What do you think of blue?” Legend murmured, picking at his sleeve and making him stare in confusion as the vet circled him, eyes locked and ears twitching thoughtfully. He shuffled in place, trying to hold still but nervous under his mentor's stare, even as Legend’s soft wings brushed against his own in a comforting manner.
“Not his color.” Wars’ soft baritone rumbled.
The vet nodded sharply at the words. “Yellow would be too overpowering,”
“Green?” The captain offered, stroking his chin and staring, brilliant blue eyes pinning him in place like a needle on an insect. Hyrule squirmed again, this wasn’t comfortable and he wasn’t quite sure how to feel about all the attention on him at the moment. The others were helping either, just standing back with amusement clear on their faces while the vet and captain picked his appearance apart like an insect.
The vet waved off the suggestion. “Too standard, this is the princess’ birthday festivities, He needs to stand out if she’s going to be able to find him in the crowd.”
Curls swam in front of his eyes as he looked at his brothers. “Why would she need to find me?” And at the look they exchanged, knowing and entirely too playful considering their usual banter and insults, Hyrule found himself flushing. Was his desire to see the princess really that clear? Incandescent rose-gold wings fluttered nervously behind him as he ducked his head to avoid the looks being shot his way. Legend’s hands gently touched the tips, sending a pleasant shiver running down his shoulders and through his spine. Legend squawked as the glistening wings flapped into his face, but quickly composed himself and returned to his inspection, murmuring softly and either nodding slowly at or sharply dismissing the ideas that Warriors offered.
Hyrule tried to stay still, did his absolute best, even when Legend was working over him with a measuring tape, but it was with a sigh of relief that he settled onto the ground while the vet set to work over a notebook, Warriors peering over his shoulder again. With the two ‘fashion masters’ as Wild teasingly named them, preoccupied, he was faced with the full power of the others’ smiles.
Time’s grin was soft, but slightly teasing as he nodded slowly, knowing but supportive. Sky’s smile was utterly adoring, warm and bright and like the sun so much that it sent warmth shooting down to his toes while Four nodded with a friendly look and Wind and Wild chuckled and smirked at him. Twilight’s smile was bittersweet, distant, as if his mind was elsewhere, but it was warm none-the-less, and Hyrule had to hide under his hair again from the sheer amount of attention he was getting.
Once outfitted in the fine things that Wars, legend and Four had conspired to craft though, he was feeling a touch more confident, reveling in the room afforded by the tunic’s skirt and laughing softly to himself at how it swished. It was a fine suit of clothes, red and warm like a fire in the winter, with a crisp white undershirt and tailored brown trousers that tucked neatly into the boots Four had polished for him.
The others looked quite nice themselves, and Hyrule smiled as brightly as he could, wings quivering against his mentor’s when Wild had had them all pose together to take a picture.
Thank heavens they’d talked the vet out of wearing a dress! It was only in jest, but having the older boy wear a royal gown to the princess of Hyrule’s birthday festivities was far from being appropriate, Wars had looked horrified at the very idea of it and it had made Legend bust up laughing at how fiercely the captain had insisted that such a thing wasn’t to be done.
As was, they all looked dashing in the clothes that the trio of tailors had managed to make for them, and when the princesses caught sight of them, Aurora giggling in delight and Dawn smiling warmly at them all as they bowed, Hyrule had felt himself puff up ever so slightly at the appreciative look sent his way by the older of the two, even if Legend did smack him on the back with his wing once Dawn had looked away.
Dawn stepped to the front of the room to welcome the guests, hair glistening and eyes full of light and life as she presented her fellow princess to the eager party-goers, and as the clapping faded Hyrule found that he’d been smiling painfully dopeishly the whole time, something he only realized when Legend smirked at him and grabbed his arm, tugging him over to the two princesses.
With all the charm and charisma of a true prince, Legend offered his hand to Aurora, who took it with an adoring smile as she gazed down at her great-uncle (and that had been interesting to discover!) while the hero led her out among her guests. Hyrule himself attempted a similar bow, and even though it lacked the practiced flair of her mentors, it was still enough to make Dawn blush lightly as she took his arm. Over her shoulder, he could see the other heroes all smiling at him again, Wild offering him a thumbs up while Sky beamed.
Hyrule wished he could have remembered more of the party, but his mind was caught almost entirely on speaking with the princess on his arm, and listening to her speak as guest after guest stopped to speak with them, complimenting him on his heroics and her on her leadership of the kingdom, before nodding and bowing and fussing about how thankful they were for being invited. He remembered that the food was fantastic, and how Dawn had winked at him when she’d served him an extra-large portion of the sweeter of the things at the head table. He remembered how Aurora had giggled and laughed and clung to Legend’s arm while the pink-haired vet had smiled back, soft and fond and looking every inch the uncle to the young teen, even if she was taller than him. And of course, he couldn’t forget when the alms plate was passed around to the guests and Sky and Wind had stared at it in confusion until Time had explained it to them.
But what he remembered most clearly, other than perhaps Warriors’ constant teasing throughout the night, was when the minstrels began to play and the hall was cleared for dancing.
Legend had risen first, bowing low and extending his hand again to his grandniece, and when Aurora had taken it the two had swept into the center of the hall for a gorgeous waltz. The birthday girl had beamed and blushed in delight, wings quivering softly as she and Legend had glided across the floor, pink flaring at this turn as Legend balanced them out, and Aurora’s own sweeping cream-colored plumage drawing attention as her uncle dipped her low. Their smiles would remain ingrained in his memory, and he’d sighed soft and heavy into his hand at the sight, Dawn’s fingers intertwined with his and squeezed softly as she chuckled when the two dancers bowed low to the head table.
After that, the floor had been opened to the other guests, with the heroes joining in, the dance lessons that their noble brothers had forced on those of less experience acting as the sole barrier between fun and disaster. He’d watched, nervousness pooling in his gut as he stole glances at the princess by his side. So far, she’d only rejected offers from other nobles, standing quietly at his side and watching those on the dancefloor with a look of longing.
Now that was something that didn’t make sense, why turn them all down if she wanted to dance so much? Of course, on the other hands, that meant he had a better chance of actually getting up the nerve to ask her himself, except... she’d already rejected everyone else. Every time he tried it just got harder, the words sticking in his throat and sweat beading on his palms as he thought of the hand resting in the crook of his arm, or how Dawn’s other hand rested on his bicep, or how sweet she smelled, or how her hair was sparkling or-
“May I have this dance, fair princess?” Sky chuckled, bowing low, eyes sparkling as Dawn laughed, taking the offered hand and moving out onto the floor. Hyrule’s heart sunk in his chest, and then leaped into his throat as Warriors snagged his arm and pulled him over to the other heroes.
“What are you doing, ‘Rulie? Girl was literally hanging off your arm and you don’t have the guts to ask her?” Wars scolded, producing a comp from seemingly nowhere and working it through his curls with a sigh, straightening his collar and tugging at his clothes to straighten them out.
“I want to!” He did, he really did. He’d only ever danced with legend before, and that was just so he could learn how to do it. The Mama and the fairies in the woods didn’t exactly count and he was still nervous. “I just...she won’t dance with others and-”
“Rule,” Wars’ blond hair fell into his eyes, distractingly charming as the captain set a hand on his shoulder. “She’s clearly as hopeful you’ll dance with her as you are that she’ll say yes. Just ask, okay? Settle yourself, take a couple deep breaths,” The man’s chest swelled with one of said deep breaths, and then he was pushing it out, breath puffing into Hyrule’s face and making him blink in surprise while the captain laughed. “And go talk to her. You’ve been talking all evening, asking her to dance isn’t that different. You don’t even have to be fancy about it like Legend and Sky, you can just-” He started as Wars darted up beside him, smiling down as if he was a gentleman talking with a princess. “Like this. Look down, or up if she’s taller, hard to tell with heels on, and ask if she doesn’t think that everyone’s having fun. Then, I don’t know,” the captain gestured vaguely. “Ask if she wouldn’t like to join them. Subtlety isn’t a bad thing, kiddo, only fear.” Long fingers swept through his hair a final time as the man pushed him back to where he’d been standing with Aurora moments ago. “Go wow her, hot stuff.”
Nervous laughter bubbled up in his chest at the captain’s compliment, but warmth spread over him at the words, and before he could let himself think twice about it, he was striding across the dancefloor as the musicians came to a halt, wings fluttering softly as he stopped before Sky and Dawn, bowing low and very nearly elegant to the two of them. “Might I, Highness?” He’d meant to ask if he could have the next dance, but while he’d missed half the words, he’d at least seemed confident, and when he glanced up through his hair Dawn with blushing madly, Sky’s eyes glimmering as he patted his great-grand-daughter's hand.
“Yes, kind hero, I would be honored!” The princess squeaked, and as Hyrule straightened, Sky passed the young woman to him, winking and offering a bright smile as the Skyloftian went to find a new partner.
The music began to swell and his heart very nearly caught in his throat and choked him as he settled his hand on Dawn’s waist, her own soft fingers settling gently on top of his shoulder. Across the dancefloor, Legend nodded approvingly, both he and Aurora smiling as the vet straightened pointedly, a silent prompt for him to do so himself and one which he followed, swaying slowly as the music began again, stepping carefully, counting very nearly under his breath.
One, two, dip, four. One, two, dip, four. One, turn, spin, four. It was an easy rhythm to fall into and an even easier dance to do, and as it progressed, he felt more and more bold, even daring so far as to dip the princess, both their cheeks flushing brightly as he smiled down at her, careful lest the princess’s lovely form hit the floor, an- well, he wouldn’t lie; it was nice how tightly she was holding onto him even as he pulled her back up. He could feel the others’ smiles more than he could see them, his eyes too fixed on flushed cheeks and dark brown eyes that glittered wildly in the candlelight of the hall. The princess’s hair had swept into her eyes and his mind didn’t bother thinking as he reached up to push it behind her ear, still swaying softly to the music, feet keeping time nearly effortlessly as Dawn flushed even brighter, closing the distance between them and hiding her blushing cheeks against his shoulder.
His wings fluttered in delight at her warmth, and he adjusted his hold on her hands and waist to better accommodate her new position. Someone, somewhere, chuckled softly, but Hyrule was too busy trying his hardest not to combust as the princess sighed against him, warm and soft and gentle and regal and...
“Uncle.” Aurora’s soft voice graced his ears, hesitant and gentle. “Could- I mean-”
“Yes?” Legend hummed, soft and warm and kind, and he couldn’t help but glance over, smiling at his mentor and little sister dancing as she flushed softly.
“When I was little, we used to dance like this but- Can we get away from the floor? It’s hot down here.”
Legend started, blinking slowly before realization seemed to dawn behind violet hues, and then the vet was dipping his head, wings fluttering softly. “Of course, Aurora.” Dawn’s head raised and the entire dancefloor watched as wings beat softly, uncle and niece fluttering softly in the air while Legend flushed and Aurora beamed.
The princess in his arms sighed, eyes wide and full of longing as she looked up at where her little sister and ancestor danced above the crowd, her shoulders sagging and eyes darting down to their feet as they continued to sway. Worry bubbled up in his heart, and he stopped his feet to stare down at the girl in his arms. “Dawn, are you okay?”
“It’s nothing, Link. Let’s just keep dancing.” Dark eyes trailed back up to their friends as another sigh blossomed between them.
Their feet stuttered as they danced, and at last Hyrule made the decision that it was time to stop, instead leading the drooping princess over to one of the great hall’s balcony doors to catch some fresh air, hoping that it was just the heat of the dancefloor or the press of bodies around them that had the princess so upset. It did little good, the princess only threaded their fingers together as she watched the dancers with the same longing stare as earlier on in the night.
“Zelda, really, what’s wrong?” He glanced down at her with concern swelling inside him. When the princess didn’t respond, he fluttered his wings, letting his fairy side bleed over until Aurora’s joy and his brothers’ pleasure was rushing sweet over his tongue, the emotions of the crowd falling in alongside, but all of it faded in comparison to the bitter taste of jealousy and regret that washed over him from the girl at his side. “Dawn?”
“I miss flying.” The princess murmured, hunching her shoulders and swiping quickly at her eyes until Hyrule offered her the handkerchief Wars had tucked into his pocket at the beginning of the night. He was suddenly thankful to the man, and made a mental note to give Wars a free pass the next time the man did something stupid and got hurt; the captain could live with one less scolding, it would be fine.
“I used to dance with my brother,” The princess continued, dabbing away her tears and flawlessly failing to smudge her light makeup. “I miss that.”
Golden eyes trailed up to where his brother and the princess were still dancing above the crowd, their melodic laughter drifting down and swirling with the music around everyone’s ears. “Would you like to be up there?”
Dawn’s deep breath nearly rattled him as she handed him his kerchief back. “I haven’t any wings, Link.” He winced at the words, reminded again of how terribly his princess had suffered at the hands of Ganon and all that she had lost in that time. The princess’s lovely wings, a plush violet and lavender that would have set even Hylia burning with envy, had been reduced to mere shreds, and had to be removed to save the ailing princess’s life after he’d rescued her from the dungeons. She took it well enough, but there were times when she’s stare at himself and Aurora with sadness, eyes trailing over their feathers while she rubbed her damaged shoulders and sighed softly.
Offense on behalf of his princess stirred in his heart, hurt on her behalf for her loss and the injustice done to her. She ought to be up there too! She was an utter angel, suffering for her people and giving them her all no matter what they did to her or how they acted, and she deserved to fly amid the stars like they did!
He wasn’t thinking when he swept away from her side, coming instead to stand before her and taking her hands in his own, smile warm and eyes shining with care as his own incandescent wings fluttered softly behind him. “Let me be your wings, Princess.”
Dark eyes stared up at him in surprise and he had to struggle not to fidget as the princess stared at him with her pretty pink lips parted in surprise at his offer. “What?”
He didn’t know if he could say it again, so he only smiled at her, wings fluttering as he rose an inch or two of the ground, hand’s still holding her own. “Dance with me.”
Hesitation flitted over Dawn’s features, lasting for only a moment before she was letting him pull her up and, rather than sweeping her up over the ballroom, he carried them out of the open doors and into the night sky beyond, chest swelling with joy in the night air and wings flickering with their own light as he twirled the princess round.
Dawn’s laughter filled his ears, light and sweet and warm and his alone in the moment, and he reveled in it, sweeping her along into the dance they had left off with, humming softly beneath his breath when the music of the hall faded and their feet nearly brushed over the roof of the hall. The wind was chilly, but welcome after the heat and stuffiness of the royal hall, and while they both shivered, it was with delight.
“What are you singing?” Dawn asked softly as he swept her down into another dip.
The princess’s face was cast in a soft golden and pink glow that made his heart sing and wings flutter even more than intended, and a soft flush bloomed warm over his face as he righted the two of them. “It’s an old song my mama used to sing to me.”
Dawn hummed softly, lying her head on his chest with her eyes lidded. “Sing it for me?”
And really, how could he say no?
Hyrule’s voice stammered on the first few words, but as he kept going, he found himself able to trill the words with the same soft richness of that Mama sang with. “Let me be your wings, let me be your only love.” Dawn flushed in his arms and his cheeks warmed further as he pushed his heart back down into his chest, begging himself to not turn into a stammering mess in front of his princess.
“Let me take you far beyond the stars.” As if to oblige them, the stars glimmered overhead, cold and bright and casting Dan’s face in a silver glow where the glow of his wings didn’t already brush over her features.
“Let me be your wings, let me lift you high above!” He hefted the princes higher in his arms, making her giggle as he pushed onwards, dancing from memory and trying his hardest to remember the words.
“Everything we're dreaming of, will soon be ours. Anything that you desire, anything at all! Every day I'll take you higher, and I'll never let you fall.” The princess dipped gracefully in his arms, hair swishing across her shoulders as she beamed up at him, letting him pull her back up to spin her gently, light in his arms like and warm to the touch and so heavenly in the starlight.
Rose-gold carried them up to light their feet lightly on the castle’s tallest spires, his wings still fluttering and Dawn’s smile still dazzling as he carried her from point to point, cherishing every minute as the song hit its peak. “Let me be your wings, leave behind the world you know. For another world of wondrous things. We'll see the universe and dance ‘tween Hylia's rings. Fly with me and I will be your wings.”
“Anything that you desire, anything at all.” He crooned softly warm and rich, only to hear Dawn’s dulcet tones join his own in a melody, hands clasping as they spun midair. “Every day I'll take you higher And I'll never let you fall!”
“You will be my wings.” The princess in his arms trilled, pure and lovely as dark eyes stared up at his and reflected the very stars themselves.
“Let me be your wings.” He returned in kind, their voices weaving together with a magical grace that sent shivers don his spine.
“You will be my only love.”
Just a song, Hyrule, she’s only repeating you! Calm down! He reminded himself. “Get ready for a world of wondrous things!” He returned, spinning her gently.
“Wondrous things are sure to happen!” Dawn flushed, letting the spin carry her back into his arms an nestle against him with a sigh as he continued, arms wrapped tight around her and holding her warm and giggling against his chest.
“We'll see the universe and dance ‘tween Hylia's rings. Heaven isn't too far-”
“Heaven is where you are.” She sighed.
“Stay with me and let me be your wings.” The final notes hung soft in the air as they alighted on the roof of the great hall, still wrapped in each other's arms even as his wings stilled, and Hyrule didn’t complain, sinking down to sit on the cold tile, not minding as the warmth of another body pressed close to his own, Dawn’s hand still holding his own in their laps as her soft thumb ran over their joined fingers. He wasn’t expecting it in the least when she spoke, but he welcomed the sound as it thrummed through the both of them, rich and sweet like honey. “Thank you, Link.”
“It was my pleasure, Princess.” He flushed, squeezing her hand carefully.
He wasn’t expecting the press of warm lips to his cheek, or the soft blush that colored Dawn’s face even as she met his stare with her own, long lashes fluttering softly as she stammered something he couldn’t hear past the rushing in his ears.
Legend had drilled him on court behavior a dozen times, and Wars had backed it up with story after story, but Hyrule threw all that aside and swept the princess up in his arms, giggling in a nervous mess as his wings fluttered madly behind him, lifting the two of them up unintentionally and sending them tumbling through the sky in a tangle of limbs and hair and nervous laughter until he caught them just above the balcony.
Sky and Aurora, who’d been dancing amid the night air themselves, started when the couple lighted on the stone, still laughing and holding tight to each other, even as they got their feet under themselves. Aurora laughed delightedly, and Sky’s smile sent warmth rushing down to his toes as he gently released his princess.
“Well,” Sky chuckled at the two of them. “I was going to ask my other grand-daughter for another dance, but it looks like she’s busy.” Crystal eyes glimmered knowingly, the Skyloftian’s tone teasing as he wrapped an arm around the younger princess’s shoulders, guiding her back to the hall. “Let’s leave those two alone for a bit, yeah?”
“Sounds marvelous.” The red-head princess returned, tone just as teasing as she shot a final glance towards the flushing couple.
“I’d still like that dance later, if you aren’t too busy.” Sky winked, and Dawn nodded shyly in Hyrule’s arms as the other two returned back to the hall.
Brown met golden for a brief moment, and another burst of giggles escaped the two as they pulled the other back into their arms, holding tight and shaking with the force of their nervous mirth.
