"Okay, class is over. You may now leave the class, take care." Ms. Bustier announced and your classmates picked up their things and started leaving with their friends. "Hey, let's go." Rose spoke to you, you shook your head. "You guys go ahead, I have something to do." You smiled at them and packed your things. Rose waved good bye and left with Juleka, you on the other hand waited for all the students to leave. "(Y/n), why are you still here?" Ms. Bustier asked you and you approached her. "Ms. Bustier, I wanna know something..." "You can count on me, what is it?" You fiddled with your bag strap. "Do some people don't have soulmates?" You looked at her, she was surprised by your question. "I-It was just a thought. Nothing personal." You cleared up, lying.
"Well, in my own opinion, all people in the world have their own soulmates. It doesn't have to be a romantic partner it could also be platonic." Ms. Bustier answered and gave you a pat on the shoulder. "I see, then did you already meet your soulmate, Ms. Bustier?" "I did, as the clock ticks down you'll meet them. Why, what's the matter?" "Nothing! I was just curious, thank you." You left the classroom and headed home.
You flopped on your bed leaving your bag on the floor and groaned. Something's bothering you for a long time, ever since you've been aware of what a soulmate is. It saddens you every time you remember that the clock you had never even ticked, even once. You never told anyone about it except your parents. You lie every time your friends ask about it, some of them already met their other half yet here you are doubting yourself if your soulmate ever exists.
"(Y/n)? Are you there? Can you please help us in the hotel again? There are many visitors this time!" Your father yelled enough for you to hear. "I will! I'll be there in a sec." You picked up your things for the hotel and went to join your parents. "I heard Audrey's here again with her daughter." "Chloé?" "No, Zoé." Your mom answered. "Anyway, it's good that the Mayor Bourgeois recognized you to become a part of the hotel staff." Your mom, changed the topic. "Yeah, I'm grateful for him, Mayor Bourgeois is kind to his employees. I don't know what happened to her daughter, though." You chuckled. "That's not nice, (Y/n)." Your mother reprimanded you.
You're currently in the dining hall when the Mayor Bourgeois and his family entered and sat down. You waited for a couple of minutes and approached them when the time is right. "Bonjour, Messieurs Dames, are you ready to order?" "Bring us the best of the bests." Audrey demanded. Chloé was about to say something but just agreed with her mom. "Yes, (Y/n), if you failed to serve us what we like, you'll get fired. Isn't that right, mom?" Her mother nodded which made Chloé smile just from getting her approval. "Y-yes, and make it fast! We don't want to wait." The other girl uttered, she was staring at you since earlier, you considered her to be who your mother talked about earlier, Zoé. 'Bossy as the other two, not surprised.' You looked at Mayor Bourgeois, he smiled at you and seemed to be hoping for no trouble happening. "Alright, I'll be back soon." You smiled at them and left.
"The usual, mom, for the Bourgeois' and add the special for their new family member." You handed her their order, "We've got that covered." she answered. "Is it the best of the bests?" You chuckled imitating Audrey. "Yes it is." Your mother also chuckled. You waited for a few minutes and you're now ready to serve the food.
"Thank you for waiting." You served them their food, while serving, Chloé's whispering into her sister's ear. You ignored it and continued on what you're doing. When you were going to serve Zoé her beverage. Chloé tripped you, making you you spill the drink on Zoé's clothes. She now winked at her sister for her to do her part, still hesitant, Zoé stood and yelled at you. "What have you done?! I never knew servers in here are this clumsy!" Audrey smirks and Chloé lets out a chuckle. "I'm sorry, I never mean for it to happen." You apologized. "Daddy! You better do something about this!" Chloé shouted. "I'll have them dismissed for a while." Her father declared. Satisfied, Chloé gave you look that made you want to rip it off her face. You looked at her sister and she hung her head low, you brought her a towel and apologized once again.
"Wait!" Someone called you, you looked around and saw no one but when you looked up you saw Zoé. She quickly went down and catch up to you. "What is it? Make it quick, I'm going home." You said as you crossed your arms. "I, I'm sorry about what happened earlier." "Yeah, thanks to you and your sister, I can't help my parents for a while." You turned around and started walking and she stopped you once again. "I'm really sorry, but can we talk?" She spoke while fiddling with her fingers, she seemed sincere right now. "Alright, let's go." You sighed and waited for her to go somewhere but she didn't say anything. She must be still unfamiliar of the place. "Let's go to the park." You invited her and she nodded.
"What do want to talk about?" You asked while sitting on a bench at Place des Vosges. "You saw it too, right?" She checked on you. "See what?" "The timer, it went zero the moment I saw you." She answered while looking at you in the eyes. "What?! I think you got the wrong person. Mine never ticked even once so it's impossible for you to think about that." You chuckled. "I'm serious. It really did." She insisted. "Look, maybe something went wrong." "No, it doesn't have anything wrong with it. Why would fate fail?" You sighed. "Zoé, I'm telling you what my truth. I'm sorry." You touched her shoulders. "And I forgive you, Zoe." You said before you started to leave the place. "I'll see you again!" She shouted and you just held your hand up and gave her a thumbs up.
"So, are you still pretending to be someone else?" You asked her while eating one of her fruits on the table. You're currently at her place to hang out after she invited you to. "Did it seem like that?" "Yeah, you're acting into someone you're not just to get the approval of your family." She frowned and hugged her pillow. "Hey, you know you can stand up to them right?" "I'll try." You smiled at her, you noticed her hair's covering her face and you tucked it behind her ear unconsciously. Your face blushed from embarrassment and she just giggle. "Hey, it's okay." She touched your hand and you quickly retracted it. They're kinda sweaty.
Your hang outs became frequent the moment you got closer together. You two always went out, because for sure once Chloé knew about your friendship with her sister: she'll plot an evil scheme and tell her mother about it. Hang outs with Zoé are always fun, she shared what she's passionate and you also shared yours. She loves acting yet it slowly made her dislike it when she has pretend she's someone else to fit in. You always assure her that you'll accept her as who is she is and maybe your friends will like her too, you believe that she's that lovable.
She started going to school after a week of staying in Le Grand Paris. You're excited for her to attend school and she's also going to meet your friends. The sisters arrived at the school with Sabrina minutes after you and your friends arrived.
"Hey you meaningless nobodies! Stop your chatter for a minute and listen up. This is..." She whispered to her sister for a second and continued what she was talking about. "This is Zoé, she's only my half sister for now, but you must treat her with respect. So, bow down! Uh.. I mean, give her the welcome her status deserve."
The gang chattered about Zoé being Chloé's sister and assuming she's as bad as her. Marinette interrupted them saying she's good and you agreed with her. "Are you really sure she's good?" Nino asked. "Yeah, I'm sure of it." You responded.
You and Marinette went near the two sisters. "Hey, Zoé, what'd you think about the macaroon? Good, huh?" Chloé was shook at the sudden acquaintance of Dupain-Cheng and her half sister. She flipped out at Zoé and uterring hurtful things. "Hey, Chloé, you should stop rambling utterly ridiculous words." You interrupt, "And you Zoé, let's go. Class is about to start soon."
"You also know (Y/n)?!" The angry Chloé faced her sister. "Y-yeah, we've also met." She spoke under pressure. "This clueless klutz knocked me down, so she gave me uh.. disgusting macaroons!" She pointed at Marinette. "And you, you've been tailing me for the past few days and it's already creeping me out! Those clothes are also so tacky that I'm not surprised you're dismissed from the kitchen. Poor you, you can't help your parents anymore." Zoé got carried away with she said.
"Well, yeah? They're right, you're no different than Chloé. I thought you're better than that." You glared at her. At this point, you can't believe Zoé would do that especially in the eyes on many. You thought she's your friend after the time you spent together. You felt betrayed that she'd treat you like that just to show something to Chloé. You even believed she was really your soulmate, even if it contradicts your clocks. She made you cared for her for real.
"I'm sure she didn't mean it." Marinette tried consoling you and you know it's not gonna work. "Hey, it's okay Marinette. I'm used to Chloé outbursts of insults, I just didn't expect her to do the same." You forced a smile and looked at Mari.
You immediately went home after school. You sat on the couch and just rested there. You're glad you eased your mind and calmed down or you'll get akumatized again, and that's the last thing you want to happen. "(Y/n), are you okay?" your mom sat next to you, she noticed looked you look exhausted. "No, mom, it's just that something happened today at school. Zoé drove me away, I thought I was her friend. I thought we... we had something special, yet she didn't even think twice of what she said." You hugged your knees. "I'm sorry that happened. You know, I remembered something like that when you were little." You looked at your mom, interested. "But it was Audrey who drove you and me away. Well, you saw her daughter entering Le Grand Paris and started reaching out for her to play. You even let go of my hand." She chuckled. "Before the girl could even see you, Audrey stood in your way and well... you know, saying such things a baby couldn't understand. I was really mad at her, pushing you and such. Huh, like mother like daughter." Her alarm rings, and she told you she's going to take care of what she's cooking and left you
'That's something I would never thought about.' You laid on your couch and try to think of something when a lightbulb pops over your head. 'That's it! it's something I had never thought about.' You picked up your phone and start heading out. Of course your clock never worked, it stopped ticking a long time ago. Hers just stopped recently because she just met you at the dining hall.
You're running towards her house when titan sized golden Chloé is terrorizing the city. 'Damn, I guess her wish came true. Expensive and 'big' enough to look down on us.' You moved near and hid somewhere safe to get a better view of what's going on, you could see the villain is holding Marinette and Marinette's reasoning with her. "Zoé, no one can judge you here. You can just be yourself, you might trip, you might fall and there's someone who'll pick you back up. I'll always be there for you." 'Zoé? The villain is Zoé?' She must have pushed herself too far. "Zoé! She's right, we'll be here for you." You shouted but she didn't listen, she continued walking towards your friends until Chat Noir tripped her. Ladybug joined the scene a bit late but still fought her with her Lucky Charm. When the villain's attention was caught by them, you ran towards your friends and checked if they were okay.
Ladybug managed to de-akumatize Zoé and left her safe. You and your friends on the other hand are on the ship enjoying the music. You were wishing Zoé was there to join you guys but you know she needs time alone. You were talking to Adrien when the girl you're hoping for entered the ship and Marinette introduced her to your friends. "I'm really sorry about today. I thought that if I did everything Chloé wanted me to, then she'd accept me. I just wanted to meet my family's expectations, which is why I left New York in the first place." She told her woes to everyone, she also told them everything she'd been through back in New York with the bullying. She cleared up what happened and she didn't mean all of it.
You and Ivan approached her and gave her a hug, and soon everyone gave her a hug she deserves. You watched her become friends with everyone and talk to them. After a few minutes, you approached her once again. Once she saw you, she uttered her apologies but you dismissed her. "Hey it's okay, I understand." You smiled at her. "I have something to tell you, it's about our clocks." She nodded and felt a bit nervous. You two stepped out of the ship and went a bit far from the ship so the music wouldn't interrupt you.
"Remember when you said I was your soulmate?" You spoke, "Yeah?" "I think... It's true." "Of course it is." She giggled. "I uh.. I heard from my mom that I already met you when we were little." You felt nervous and shy right now, your palms are even sweating. "That explains why I thought my clocked never worked, but the truth is already found my soulmate." You're already smiling at her, when she's about to reach for your hand; you immediately stopped her. "No! I uh... my palms are sweaty, it's gross." You looked way embarrassed and rubbed the back of your neck. She gave you a hug instead and you gladly returned it. You felt warm and somehow complete when she's in your arms and it made you happy. You can't explain it but you waited for this to happen, you were just hesitant to confess when you were hanging out together knowing that she may belong to someone else. You told yourself that you'll make sure she'll feel at home here in Paris and be herself.
"Go get her, (Y/n)!" You could here Nino and Alya yelled from the ship that made the gang checked what it was and cheered for the both of you. You looked at each other and chuckled.
