The night grew cold, a shiver brushing over the leather clad hereon. His routine survey of Paris was concluding, yet he was not so willing to relinquish his freedom just yet. Those chartreuse eyes landed on a familiar building, one that he had visited just hours ago in the warm afternoon sun. 

Surely you wouldn't mind a visitor. He was Chat Noir after all, beloved feline hero of all Parisians. Who wouldn't want him visiting? It wasn't uncommon for him to linger around certain houses, and more so bakeries with leftover croissants and pain au chocolats. Adjusting his staff between the maroon bricks, the blonde launched himself upwards, using the momentum of his staff to swing himself forwards in the direction of your home. Just passing the Dupain-Cheng's bakery, Adrien found himself just steps away from your brick clad house. Rising to two levels, the small building was held up by maroon bricks and umber trimmings. Your garden was minimal, a few potted plants thanks to your mother and a small figure of a snail hidden just beneath a large leaf thanks to yourself. Messy and clearly hand made with the sweetest heart and shaky fingers, it was easy to spot out that you had made it. Your mother had a steady hand, and your father wouldn't have bothered with such frivolous things; but you just could never help yourself when it came to adding a touch of light in your empty space. Warmth greeted him, seeping from the orange lights of the kitchen where your dad stood. He helplessly scrubbed dishes in hopes to figure out a more sustainable lifestyle for his daughter, barely noticing the distance protruding between them, ever-growing. His love was strong, but his ignorance stronger. 

A blue hue emitted from a second-floor window, cracked open just enough for the soft hum of a miniature heater to filter through his sensitive ears. That figurative warmth turned literal as Adrien used his staff to raise him just past the first floor, ears flickering at the subtle hum. He almost gave himself away, losing his balance momentarily before correcting himself. Leather gloved hands caught himself on the cold bricks, a slight wince of pain flashing across his dark features before he finally decided to knock on the ajar window. Adrien didn't want to startle you, but that would be much better than suffering in the cool of the dark night. 

Your head immediately lurched, vision blurry and ears ringing at the sudden movement. How stupid could you truly be. This flare up had gone from an overwhelming shakiness to a struggle with just sitting up. Vomit creeped up your throat, bile settling momentarily as you steadied yourself. Cece, who was previously sleeping on the pillow beside you had drifted behind your desk, hiding from the stranger in the window. At first, you believed it might be an akuma, clutching your necklace as a way to self-regulate while also protecting your miraculous. Yet, at the sight of black ears and chartreuse eyes you sighed, the tightness in your shoulders relaxing the slightest bit as you struggled to stand. Adrien observed your state, clearly much worse than you were earlier. You must have been good at hiding your symptoms if this is how you were behind closed doors.

You were sluggish walking to the window, that limp still prominent with every step you took. Gripping the small golden clasp of the window, you gently pushed the glass outwards. Black ears flickered at each noise, a small trait that you had yet to pick up in your short time fighting beside the cat. It forced a small chuff past your lips, a smile tugging at your face despite your slight distaste for the cat. You didn't hate him; you had a truce after all. In this moment, you were no longer Clementine and just the sick kid you had always been. Time passed slower than usual, chartreuse eyes stuck on your every movement. He made no effort to come inside and instead studied you from the windowsill, concerned as ever. In some way he reminded you of a sad dog nervous to intrude on your unwell state. 

"You don't have to stay in the cold... Unless you want to freeze your whiskers off." 

And there it was. That sly grin and mischievous glint, yet he still didn't say anything. You paid no mind to it as Chat stepped in, glancing around your room. It was covered in small trinkets. Glow in the dark stars lined your roof, sketches of flowers and bugs were scattered across your desk, skilfully hiding your study of whoever was beneath the mask of that ignorant cat. There was an acoustic guitar standing in the corner of your cluttered room, neglected. Playing became difficult as the years went by, your knuckles seizing after playing for more than just a few minutes. The same was beginning to happen with holding a pencil, but at least you could still type despite everything else. He took a step towards you now, squinting as his pupil's dilated. You had been this close to him before, but this was different. He was no longer arrogant, ignorant and egotistical, but much rather concerned and critical. 

"Do you have something to say or are you just looking for someone to pity?" your words fell with venom, "I am not looking for your pity, Chat." There was no surprise in your question to Adrien. He still remembered you barely letting him guide you up the stairs. "Am I not allowed to pay a simple visit? A birdie told me you could use some company." His smirk was annoying, but maybe there was a small part of you that lifted with the corners of your lips. You did need company more than you ever planned to admit. 

Instead of sitting back at your desk, you took steady steps towards your bed. The sheets were a soft shade of sage, but they weren't anything special. "You can sit down, y'know?" You arched a brow, pulling a pillow off the head of the bed and hugging it tight to your stomach, legs crossed beneath it. Chat Noirs smirk softened into a peaceful smile. Taking a seat at your desk, he found himself kicking his feet off of the floor. The chair spun and he heard you let out a sweet giggle. Relief washed over him. While he wasn't technically Adrien in the moment a part of him felt at ease knowing you found some form of enjoyment from his alter ego. He planted his feet into the floor, steadying himself to face you once more. "So..." he trailed off. Gosh, why hadn't he planned of something to say before he actually came inside. 

"So?" You squinted and shook your head slightly, still dizzy and head thumping periodically behind your eyes. He took instant note of your slipping demeanour. He had seen you exhausted, but never so sick. Instead of taking pity or freezing up, he resorted to trying to become helpful. "What can I do to help you? You kind of look like shit," he snickered in hopes of lightening the mood, "And I can't have one of my civilians so wrecked." You shut your eyes, although he was sure he saw you roll them just before. You snickered, your smile failing to leave. Momentarily you denied his assistance. This was your every day. 

Headaches, migraines, pain, nausea, dizziness, and the list could simply go on. 

"I'm fine." Teeth gritted, you turned your head to the left, away from his furrowed brows and worried eyes. They reminded you so much of your best friends that it almost hurt to look at them. He could read you too well now. "You aren't," his name left your lips so softly that it almost made you wonder how he knew your name, come to think of it, how did he find your address? "Look at yourself, you're freezing and clearly not okay. I'm not pitying you; I'm offering support." He sighed. The disappointment dug its sharp claws into your skin. The sudden regret of being rude filling the empty pit of your stomach. 

You didn't want to admit it, but Chat Noir was right. "There's anti-nausea wafers and pain meds in that top draw." You pointed to the top draw of your wooden desk. You were lucky he was here. There was no chance you were making it to that draw, suffering in your bed until you managed to pass out, whether that be from pain or exhaustion was not up to you. The blonde asked no questions, instantly retrieving them in his gloved hands. The glass you had broken earlier that day was half-heartedly shoved into the trash. A few stray shards had fallen over the edge, but you didn't have the heart to pick them up earlier. Instead, there was a replacement cup, a plastic one that you would buy for a kid just learning how to hold precious items. It was embarrassing, but you would rather the embarrassment than another glass shard stuck in your finger. 

After placing the pills in his palm, he offered them to you. In a practiced fashion you placed the wafer under your tongue to dissolve and the pill on top of your tongue. They were both small. The wafer was a small pink pill that tasted bitter, whereas the pain medication was slightly larger and a baby blue with that ever-familiar sugar coating. You reached for the plastic cup, but it never met your outstretched hand. You were practically trembling and after hearing how upset you were over the phone for spilling that glass Adrien wasn't just about to let history repeat. In a swift and steady motion, he raised the plastic cup to your lips, eyes locked on yours. He followed as you slightly tilt your head backwards, swallowing the aftertaste of the wafer down with the small pill. He pulled it back when you were done, turning just in time to miss the flush and shudder of your body. 

What the fuck was that.

He cleared his throat, as if only then realising just how intimate that moment had been. He shook his head slightly, blonde strands falling into his eyes before he pushed them back. You mumbled a small thanks and flashed a gentle smile. It felt nice to be looked after. You were yet to recover from the moment, but it did help serve as a distraction from your other feelings. He didn't apologise. He stayed for maybe an hour afterwards, watching as the medication forced drowsiness to make your eyelids heavy. Chat had rolled across the room to be closer to you, simply enjoying the small talk and company as you settled into bed, now laying down. He pulled the blanket further up your chest, fighting the urge to push a strand of hair behind your ear. Instead, he faltered and pulled his hand back. You stayed ignorant, so close to being lulled to sleep by the gentle purring of his chest. You were too drowsy to even realise it was coming from him. 

"I should leave. You need rest." 

There was no fighting back when he was already taking steps towards the window. He grinned at you, that cheeky look always fighting its way up front. You had no time to say 'thank you' as he climbed out of your window. The silence was almost saddening, but alas sleep was eating at your mind, and you were no stranger to succumbing to its persuasive mouth. You would simply have to thank him the next time he visited.

Bullet Train

I'm in my Brad Pitt's moment, so here's a Ladybug x female reader story.

He was the unluckiest man in the world.

Maria could give him all the nicknames she wanted to ward off fate, matched with lucky charms and incantations, Ladybug knew he was unlucky.

All the work with Gary was not intended to change that.

The sessions only helped him accept this reality.

Part of him considered that maybe it was karma. He had done a lot of harm, in his work, and sometimes outside of his work. He had chosen to do evil, because he could have decided to be a dentist or a hot dog seller instead of an assassin.

Even if Gary wasn't there to give him hope, Ladybug still wanted change. This was why he now only accepted simple contracts, without violence, or almost none.

That way, maybe he would end up being a little less unlucky.

Stealing a suitcase from a train should have been easy. No need for a gun. No need for violence. Almost no need for luck, the suitcase waiting for him quietly in the suitcase compartment.

Ladybug just had to take it, wait for the next stop, and get off the train.

Super easy.

The easiest job of his entire career.

And it had absolutely nothing to do with the stupid nickname Maria and the others had decided to give him for his return to the field.

It didn't take long for him to realize that it wouldn't be that easy.

There were other people on the train, a lot of people, who also wanted the suitcase. Getting it was the easy part. Now he had to survive and escape.

Since no one yet knew who had the suitcase, he decided to play the normal passage, who had nothing to do with this mess. If he tried anything more complicated, his bad luck might play tricks on him.

He then approached another passenger who was returning from the bar car with an iced tea, pretending to crash into her by accident.

"Oh ! Sorry, so sorry ! Are you okay ? I'm really sorry, I can go get you another one."

"No, it will be fine. Thank you."

"I insist. I wasn't looking where I was going, I'm really stupid. My therapist says that I need to pay more attention to what's around me, focus on the present moment. He's very gifted, he has a lot of very intelligent sentences."

"I have no doubt about it."

"Please let me make it up to you. Your sweater is soaked. I'm confused, really. Let's sit down, I must have some tissues in my jacket."

This was how Ladybug met Y/N.

He didn't really like involving civilians in his missions, but sometimes it was necessary. He would make sure nothing happened to her. She wouldn't even know that she had spoken with a dangerous criminal, to help him escape from several dangerous criminals.

No, they were just going to have a good time talking, until the next stop.

"This Maria shouldn't make fun of you, it's good to see a specialist when you need one, and there's no reason to be ashamed of it."

"Exactly !" Ladybug exclaimed with joy. "My boss doesn't understand this at all. It's very nice of her to say that my old self was great, but I didn't like it. I wanted to change, and Gary helps me a lot."

"I don't know what you were like before, but you look calm and happy. You still need to look ahead, but I think you're on the right track."

"Sorry again about the iced tea. I can definitely buy you another one if you want."

“No, thank you, that’s nice Mike.”

Ladybug didn't know why he said that his name was Mike. Maybe because it was classy, and he needed to give a credible name, and it was quite close to his real name, which he wasn't allowed to give.

They had only been talking for fifteen minutes, and he felt a real connection with Y/N. He couldn't explain it, but she listened to him, and what she said was clever, and he really wanted to know her better.

It had been a real chance to meet her.

The bad luck was that it happened during a mission.

The agents had every right to have a life. They could even be honest about their work with their family, if they signed certain documents. But under the current circumstances, there was little chance that he would be tolerated for him to keep in touch with Y/N.

Too risky.

The job was to get in and out of the train, taking the suitcase, without being spotted.

"You travel a lot ?" Y/N asked him with her soft voice and sparkling eyes, showing that she was really interested in what he was going to say.

“I think I’ve been everywhere.”

“It’s impossible, I don’t believe you !”

"Oh, but it's true. My job requires me to go everywhere. It's beautiful and tiring. A little depressing too, you end up getting bored and no longer impressed at all. Gary always told me take the time to admire the place where I am, as well as the people around me."

“That’s good advice.”

“I'm applying it right now, and I think yeah, it's really good advice.”

Y/N smiled, biting her lip slightly. How long had it been since he last flirted ? Outside of work anyway, not to get out of a complicated situation, even if he spoke with Y/N to get out of a complicated situation.

Now that he thought about it, it must have been several months, and the last attempts had been disasters, like all the relationships he had tried to have. He was also unlucky in love. Ladybug never stood a chance.

He was about to ask Y/N a question to show her that he was also interested in what she had to say, when his phone rang. Maria, of course.

"My boss." he sighed, waving his phone. "I have to answer."

“You don’t have to get up.”

"Unfortunately, I have to. Confidential informations."

“I can watch your place and your things if you want.”

It wasn't a good idea to leave the suitcase. Someone might take it, hurting Y/N. But he also couldn't walk around on the train with the suitcase, while he was answering the phone. It was difficult to defend yourself with a phone in one hand and a suitcase in the other.

"… Okay, but could you put my suitcase between your leg and the wall ? It's very important, I don't want anyone trying to take it."

“Sure, no worries.”

No one could see the suitcase there, so Ladybug was reassured and he went to answer Maria with a calm and satisfied mind. It only took two minutes, he calculated. The time to tell his boss that everything was fine, he had the suitcase, and he would soon get off the train.

She was calling to tell him he would have to get off the train soon.

Ladybug wanted to thank her for wasting two precious minutes with Y/N, who he would never see again, but he restrained himself. That would have wasted even more time, and he shouldn't have to go through the hassle of solving a problem. Gary would have been proud of him.

When he came back to sit down, Y/N asked him if everything was okay, handing him back the suitcase.

"I have to get off at the next stop, which makes me very desperate. I wish I could have spent more time… on the train…"

With you.

Well, he hadn't flirted in a long time, but Ladybug had enough experience to know that this sentence was way too quick and ridiculous.

"I understand. I'll stay there, but it won't be the same."

Maybe not. But too late, the train was already starting to brake, and they entered the station.

He asked her if she really didn't want an iced tea. Y/N gave him a beautiful smile, wishing him a good end to his trip to Tokyo.

They left each other like this, without exchanging numbers. She had seemed like she wanted it, but probably she was waiting for him to propose it. Unfortunately he didn't have the right to do so.

Ladybug then went to the meeting point where he had to give the suitcase to his contact. Super easy mission, no problem, no need for a gun at all.

This was what he said as he gave the package to the man waiting for it. That didn't make him smile. He smiled even less as he opened the suitcase. Ladybug didn't even know what was supposed to be in it, he hadn't asked.

Later, Maria would tell him that there should have been a lot of money, and a USB stick had very important information regarding a mafia gang.

"… It's for you." the man said in a monotone voice, handing him a piece of paper which he took out of the suitcase.

"What's this ? A secret code ?"

"No," the man said, and it sounded a lot like a way of saying 'idiot'.

It wasn't easy to tell if he was an idiot or not from reading the paper. Maybe a little bit. Like it was not easy to tell if he was as unlucky as he claimed.

The message was short and simple.

'Thanks "Mike". Call me for an iced tea' with a number next to it.

Out of all the passengers he could have chosen to hide with, Ladybug had chosen one who wanted to take the suitcase, and he had literally given it to her for two minutes, which was enough for Y/N to empty it.

He wondered if Y/N was her real name. They had to have the same rules when they were on a mission.

Really, Ladybug didn't have much luck. But he got Y/N's number without even having to ask, so maybe he wasn't the unluckiest man in the world, but just a little.

He would talk to Gary about it at their next session to see what he thought about all that.

Dating Ladybug Would Include...

I feel like he met you at a coffee shop, maybe even a library? Nothing insane or too crazy though.

He would definitely be a regular at a small coffee shop that you go to quite often, so running into eachother every once in a while there would be a given.

Now, I know I said coffee shop but he definitely isn't a caffeine person and doesn't like the taste of coffee. He probably gets jasmine tea or something of the sort and like a scone maybe.

He eventually goes up to you and makes some small talk after a while of shared glances and such.

I just feel like the first times recognising eachother would be catching glances at eachother and sending small waves or little smiles. (Seems cute I dunno).

When he first talks to you, he starts off really strong in terms of confidence, then proceeds to get more shy and awkward as the conversation goes on.

"Hey, I see you around here a lot. Would you mind if I sat with you?" A male voice says from beside you.

You look up to see the man with black framed glasses you see often right behind you.

"Oh, hello! Yeah you can go right on ahead," You say, motioning for him to take the seat right across you, putting your book down.

The man sits across from you and places his drink onto the table.

"What are you reading?"

"Oh, well.. Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen," You look down to your book, slightly embarrassed.

"Good book," He replies.

You awkwardly hum in acknowledgement, drumming your fingers on the table to the rhythm of a song stuck in your head.

"Frankie Valli?" The man says.

You look up and stop drumming your fingers, looking at him in confusion.

"Sorry, but it uh, it sounded like you were drumming the rhythm of Sherry by Frankie Valli,"

"Oh! Yes I was, sorry I was just confused, you like Frankie Valli?" You say, a little too excitedly.

"I do! My name's Ladybug by the way, its a bit weird I know but," The man introduces himself, trailing off slightly.

"I'm Y/n, its nice to officially meet you, Ladybug,"

Ladybug smiles.

After a couple of times seeing you there and interacting with you, he might ask you subtly of your single; of course checking for a wedding or engagement ring first.

He gives off awkwardly confident autistic vibes, I'm right and I know it.

"Hey, uh, I don't mean to sound weird or anything, but I was wondering if uh, maybe you we're single and if so would you be willing to, I dunno maybe have dinner with me sometime? And you totally don't have to if you don't want to if by chance you are single but uh, yeah.."

He's so cute.

He would take you to a nice little restaurant, and he waits for you at the door with a bouquet of flowers, (which we all know would be something like peonies,) he pushes your seat in for you, lets you order first and everything, he would be such a gentleman.

After the date before you get into your car and leave (Which he very nicely escorted you to,) he asks you very nicely if you would like to go on another with him sometime, to which you say yes to.

Say a couple dates later, you guys are now a thing.

When you go to his house he cooks for you.

This man would be such a good cook but it being Ladybug, he would definitely burn something on accident.

After a while of being together, he finally tells you about his job.

You love this man so much and he's so sweet that you find it impossible for him to be an assassin. But you try to be as accepting of it as you can be.

You're more worried than anything now, to be honest.

After the whole entire bullet train mission when he gets back with all these cuts and bruises, you patch him up and such, obviously upset he came back so hurt.

You were currently sitting on the couch of your apartment, reading a book.

You hadn't seen Ladybug in a while as he was on a mission in Japan. It was only supposed to be for a couple of days, but you were very worried being that it was so far away.

He would text you updates and such regularly, but for the past day you had gotten nothing from him which worried you even more.

Suddenly you hear a knock on your door. You get up from your spot and place your book on the coffee table, face down as to not loose your page.

You look through the peephole to see its a teenage boy in a Domino's uniform with a box of pizza.

You open the door, telling the boy to give you a second as you rush to the kitchen island and pull a 5 dollar bill out of your wallet, walking back and handing it to him, getting the box as well and closing the door.

You walk back to your spot, placing the box down and opening it, the savory smell filling the area.

You take a slice, and bring it to your face, taking a bite as the mix of the gooey cheese, tangy sauce, and crispy crust mix together perfectly on your taste buds.

Another knock on your door rudly interrupts your joy in eating, you walk back, not even bothering to check who it is.

You open the door to see a bruised and bloodied up Ladybug at your door sheepishly smiling, a tired look evident on his face.

"Oh my god, sweetheart are you okay? Come in here," You say, gently pushing Ladybug into your apartment, sitting him on the couch where you were.

"What happened? Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, don't worry. Just a few cuts and bruises is all," Ladybug replies, a soft smile on his face as to reassure you he really is alright.

"Let me clean you up, stay right here." You go to your restroom and look under the sink for your first aid kit, taking a bottle of rubbing alcohol as well.

You go back to the living room and begin to clean up the cuts on his face.

Ladybug was looking at you lovingly as you did so.

"I love you," Ladybug blurts out.

You stop what you were doing and look at him, your face growing warmer by the second.

That was the first time either of you had said "I love you," so you were processing it still.

"Sorry, it just kinda slipped ou-" Ladybug turns his face away, a slight blush spreading across his face.

"I love you, too." You say, finally replying and giving him a kiss on his cheek.

He loves you to pieces, so he would never yell at you during arguments of any sort, but with his anger issues that he's been trying oh so hard to get controlled, he slips up sometimes.

Hes profusely apologising, after he realises the mistake he made.

This poor guy is just kicking himself for it.

You assure him that its quite alright and that you understand.

He still gets you something nice as an apology. Such as flowers, maybe even sweets.

Such a sweetheart.

I didn't really know how to end this, and this took so long to finally put out, but it got done! I'm very happy with myself, sorry if its a little sloppy as well. I do hope you enjoyed it though.
