What are your plans for Vixeus and Damien? Will their relationship remain the same as in the reboot, or will it be something more manipulative and paternal love? Damn, they would give off a Jinx and Silco vibe.
Well, it's time to introduce an original character
Trust me, she has something to do with the Vexius and Damien from my rewrite
Her name is Vera: she was Daphne and Bloom's aunt, King Oritel's younger sister, Guardian Fairy of Domino and the previous Keeper of the Dragon Flame (before Daphne)
In my story Damien isn't blood-related to Domino's Royal Family at all BUT he was like a protégé to Vera. She took him under her wing to teach him magic. Let's say he was an apprentice/assistant, the Robin to her Batman, almost an adopted son
Vexius remains Oritel's advisor but there is more, he and Vera had a sort of "secret affair". They tended to keep their relationship in the shadows especially in the eyes of Oritel
The dynamics of Vexius' betrayal are also different.
Years ago (Daphne was about 13 at the time, Damien was 15 and Bloom wasn't born yet) Vexius betrayed the Royal Family, Vera and the entire Kingdom of Domino by revealing to the Wizards of the Black Circle the location of the Spirit's Cave, the place where the spirit of the Great Dragon rests (which was revealed to him by Vera herself who, in love, believed him to be part of the family by that time)
In my rewrite the Wizards of the Black Circle are not related to the Earth Fairies or to Tir Na Nog, since they don't exist (I explain this here), but they are simply dark sorcerers acolytes of the Darkness Forces and the Shadow Phoenix. In particular they are followers of the Black Circle: an artifact capable of draining magic from things and people. Their intent was to seize the Dragon Flame by using the Circle on the sleeping spirit of the Great Dragon
Naturally when they desecrated the Spirit's Cave a battle raged between them and Vera, who was charged with protecting that sacred place at all costs. The outcome of that battle was never known. Oritel and Marion, rushing there, found only the wounded Vexius and the lifeless body of Damien, who had probably been accidentally hit in the chaos of battle. There was no trace of Vera nor the Sorcerers of the Black Circle
With Vera's sudden disappearance someone else from the Royal Family was needed to take over as Guardian Fairy and as Keeper of the Flame, so Daphne was chosen, despite her young age. From then on she began her long training, guided by her parents
In conclusion, the relationship between Vexius and Damien cannot really be defined as father and son, but it could have been, if it hadn't been for Vexius' stupid and blind thirst for power (being respectively Vera's lover and adoptive son)
For the next several years Vexius served his sentence in prison until the glaciation of Domino by the Ancestral Witches. Oritel wanted to execute him for what he had done to his kingdom and his family, but he knew that if his sister Vera ever returned, she would never forgive him
For this reason Oritel decided to lock Vexius up, so that he would live as long as possible with the remorse for everything he had caused: the betrayal of the Kingdom, the betrayal of the woman he claimed to love and the death of a poor boy who was just in the wrong place at the wrong time
