Well...after today's philm club, this feels different.

Phil didn't even try to speak, he just gave his thoughts to Dan, DAN asked Phil if he wanted to say something, that could be, because earlier Dan had been talking and missed that Phil was trying to speak till Phil tapped his arm.

For Dan, this moment must have been akin to screaming "THIS IS MY BOYFRIEND AND I LOVE HIM"

His main focus was on making Phil comfortable not what it would look like, up until the "aww" when you can watch his face fall and panic set in (the same reaction to when he noticed the camera at the BRITs)

The two moments of note:

25:29 - Phil tries to talk after Dan but Dan is not paying attention so Phil taps his arm lightly and he instantly gives Phil the floor

27:11 - "Can Phil express an opinion?"

Bottom line, this was a REALLY big deal for Dan to do. It crossed every single boundary we now know they had about VidCon and contact.

Phil's comment was a REALLY good one, I'm glad Dan did it from a professional perspective, alone, though obviously it's a really personally sweet thing too. He knew Phil had a good point, and didn't think about anything else, he need to make sure he made it.

But watching Dan's face fall after hearing "awww" is heartbreaking and I bet he hated himself the rest of the day.

Two other thoughts—I hate Dan's smile, it doesn't reach his eyes at any point and dan was constantly getting sexually harassing comments and because he's a man (or perceived as one) no one cared.
