(Yeah dear Dr. Connors, the more important question is: why didn't we come up with this sooner?😂)
Since a nice talk with my dear @thaliabubble one night again, I asked myself "Would Bucky re-grow his arm, if it would work normally?"
My conclusion of talking and thinking: No.
At first, he would been have tempted, maybe to the time after The Winter Soldier and Civil War ...wanting so bad to be normal..forget the pain he had caused.....
but....now, in Falcon and the Winter Soldier, as he rescued the people in the car..he realized, this arm cam do good; it doesn't only kill. Also Sam's family shows him, he hasn't to be afraid to show it in public. They accept him as he is, with the arm, not afraid of. I mean, those kids💓
So no. He wouldn't. He accepted it just like his surroundings does.😄 And that makes me so so happy
Any further words my dear @thaliabubble ? Since youre the Spider villiain expert💓💓💓Oh check her blog out and talk to her, its so much fun😄😄

Villain Motivation and the Banality of Evil
Motivation in Fact and Fiction
As you know by now, I am a huge true crime fan. I've read books by FBI profilers and crime historians, am addicted to the Investigation Discovery channel, and have even attended a semester of my local police departments "citizens police academy". This is a professional as well as a personal interest, given that I am currently outlining a mystery WIP set in an alternate version of our world. Thus, I want to understand crime investigation, different types of evidence, and, of course, motive. It's this last one—the motivation behind a villain's acts—that many authors, not just those who write mystery—concern themselves with. And, after examining hundreds of real-life crimes, I'm here to tell you that it's not that important.
Ok, it's a little important, in that a villain needs a motive, but it's not important that it be extremely groundbreaking, or extremely relatable, or extremely anything. Motives tend to be common place, not extreme, no matter how shocking the other aspects of a crime.
Prompts #43
I’ll write two or three of these for yesterday’s ask, then I’ll add a few extras, including someone who asked for something from bad things happen bingo but it was fluff and I had something planned, but here you go.
1. Sidekick focused more on their meal than the Villain in front of them. Constantly deceiving, constantly having to think before they could speak. It was exhausting.
“[Hero] is getting stupider by the day,“ Villain said, swirling their wine around the glass absent-mindedly.
“What makes you think that?“ Sidekick asked curiously. They took the first bite of their food but as they chewed Villain slid a piece of paper over to them. Sidekick knew what it was and their surprise showed before they could stop it.
“The fact they honestly thought you would get away with this and not get caught.“
Sidekick cleared their throat, feeling a sudden pain in their gut. They looked down at their meal. It was laced with something, was it... poison? Villain smiled and raised the glass, “To your good health.”
2. Henchman couldn’t stop the guards from wrestling them back into Hero’s main room. Their shackles rattled and clinked as though crying out for help. Hero was standing stock still, a cane clenched tightly in their fists. Dread pressed down on Henchman’s gut. Their feet could find no grip to resist. Finally, the guards threw Henchman on the floor, right in front of the Hero.
“Once over thieves would have their hands cut off. Imagine if that were the case for all crimes. Trespassers could lose a leg, liars their tongue,“ Hero turned to face them, “Traitors and backstabbers, well that speaks for itself.” Hero pulled the cane apart to reveal a blade. “Just imagine.”
3. “[Villain],” Sidekick asked, “Where are we going?”
“Just through here. There’s something I need to show you.” Villain opened the door and gestured for Sidekick to go inside. They did so without any fear. They knew they were safe. This had to just be something small.
When they looked in the room, they saw a light in the far end. Illuminated by the spotlight, was Hero, chained, on the floor, and dangerously weak.
“H.how?“ Sidekick’s voice trailed off.
“Take a good look,” Villain grinned. “Finally, I’ve been successful. You see, we had a terrible parasite lurking about, an undercover agent I suppose you could say. They took the bait. Fed [Hero] false information and here we all are now.”
“So, [Hero] was the undercover agent?“ Sidekick guessed.
Villain suddenly grabbed Sidekick by the throat and pushed them back, sending them scrambling back until they hit a wall.
“[S.sidekick],“ Hero murmured from afar. Villain looked back at Hero and then to Sidekick. That was all the confirmation they needed to know.
4. “[Villain]?” Hero said softly, cupping their cheek in their hand. “Wake up, please wake up. You need to wake up.”
Villain didn’t even try to move from the slab of metal they had been tied to moments ago. They started to murmur something, and Hero had to bring their ear closer to their face.
“They... they tried to... to take my powers...”
Hero swallowed hard. They should have been here sooner, they shouldn’t have let it last this long. “Let’s go. Try to keep quiet for me.”
Hero lifted Villain up with care and carried them out bridal-style. “I... I can’t control...” Hero could see the light beginning to shine from Villain’s hands.
And the ask was: villain and hero watching wizard of oz and messing around with each other like I Have You Now My Pretty *tackles them*. this is the most comfortable thing i can think of for u to write for that trope- See I do my best not to forget anyone. Sorry it's shorter than what I'd have ideally liked.
5. “Do you have to recite every line that the witch says?” Hero sighed.
“I’ll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too,” Villain imitated the voice of the witch without hesitation and tickled Hero’s sides mercilessly. Hero could hardly breathe for laughing, squirming around on the couch. Villain leaned in close and kissed them.
“Hmm, my pretty,” Villain grinned. Hero snuggled against Villain and relaxed in their arms to watch the rest of the movie. But there was a dull, heavy knock on the door. Hero peered up from the seat. Villain got to their feet.
“Wait here,“ Villain murmured.
OOH, also, Anon, I remember I had a previous ask which covered your request really well. You can find it here
tag yourself: villain types
the monster: creepy, lots of teeth, claws, and eyes, misunderstood, very hungry all the time. you are mother nature’s weapon.
the criminal: in it for the money and power or maybe even the adrenaline rush, wants to be covered in gold and wear the best clothes. doesn’t trust easily. but usually looks pretty glam while out on heist.
femme/homme fatale: seductive, lures people to their doom. very mysterious, no one really knows what you’ve got going on. but you look damn good in everything. secretly, a genius.
the henchperson: usually pretty loyal and supportive. you’re ruthless, skilled and lethal. you know your path in life and you are doing anything you can to make your dreams happen.
the machine: doesn’t understand why humans are like this?? can be seen as cold or calculating, but really you’re just logical. spends a lot of time googling and making evil plans.
EVIL: the personification of evil (kinda, people seem to think you are). you just want to shake things up. or maybe you have some other motivation. you’re really not in it for the money or the power or whatever. but those things definitely help. usually has a really fuckin rad aesthetic goin on.
Callisto - The “villain” or the “victim”?
Callisto is an antagonistic character whose mind has been psychologically warped over the death of her family. And yet, she acts and speaks so sincerely and playfully as if she recognizes her own behaviour and attitude and she is so apathetic that anything she has done or said to others doesn’t register in her head that it comes anywhere even close to her own torment. Her own life so twisted because of Xena, she turned into a psychopath, bent on destroying everything good in Xena’s life. But not the textbook definition of one. Oh, no. The most interesting thing about Callisto, for me, is that she is extremely self-reflective and expressive of her pain, despite feeling no remorse or regret of causing pain to others. Regardless of all the hatred, anger and vengeance she has towards Xena, she seems to be able to just tell it all to her just like that. As if she’s aware that she’s doing it and she’s passed the point of caring about that she’s doing it.
Here she taunts Gabrielle with details of murdering Perdicus just to get a rise out of her. Just to see her react in anger. Just to torture her. And I just find it so interesting the humorous way she acts despite being so depressed, damaged and deranged. Why would a psychopath be so honest? It’s not common for a psychopath or sociopath to be sincere because they’re pathological liars. They don’t understand other’s feelings when they hurt them and they don’t recognize that they are a psychopath. But Callisto is not like that at all. She’s a psychopath with a self-aware purpose. In fact she acts just plain evil. But you also can’t see her as evil because of the fact she expresses herself as a victim of evil doings.
All of this is so clear in her demeanor - Remarkably portrayed by the incredible Hudson Leick. Easily one of the greatest actresses I’ve ever known and Callisto is definetly the greatest “villain” I’ve ever known. She has puzzled me for years.
Shhhhhh. Come little children, come with me.
