Edd grinned as he saved the videos the cameras at the front of the house took the night before to his Google Drive.
"Hey," a soft voice said behind him.
He turned and took a long sip of his coffee as he looked his tall friend up and down.
"So about last night," he said once he put his coffee mug down next to his iPad.
"Yeah, I know," Ed groaned sheepishly. "But you gotta understand -"
"Oh, I understand plenty," he grinned as a loud groan came from the living room.
They had missed brunch and Edd had a meeting in town with the local health department to discuss their next steps in handling the pandemic that had put the entire planet on a slow pause, so when he came back home from his meetings and Sunday errands, an early supper was in order.
Kevin and Rolf were both munching on toast with a pot of Eddy's hangover tea brewing on the stove when Edd got home.
He barely greeted the two party animals in the living room, but Kevin figured he wasn't too upset when Edd started preparing his mother's stocky chicken noodle soup. It was heavy on the veggies and the broth was thicker than most soups Kevin had ever had but not creamy.
And it was perfect for hangovers.
The Eds passed soup bowls and tea around, but opted to drink KoolAid for themselves.
(What?)
(It's not like they were hungover!)
When Edd snuggled next to Kevin, the redhead started to feel better, but his stomach sank to the earth's core when his cuddle buddy turned the tv on, and pulled up his home video drive, and hit play on the first video to pop up, titled, "Don't Wake Him."
He saw himself and his foreign friend stumble onto the porch and he leaned against the door as Ed snatched his keys away. Rolf was close behind but wrapped himself around the pillar next to the top stair and held on for dear life.
"Shh," Kevin drunkenly drawled as Ed tried to figure out which key opened the front door. "You do not want to wake him."
"Oh, no," Rolf whispered. "To wake the master of the house is to ensure a three noodled beating."
Ed looked at the foreigner like he had two heads then shook his own.
Edd snickered as it took two minutes for Ed to figure out which key opened the door.
Well, keys.
The door knob had its own key, as did the deadbolt. But because they all looked alike to him under the porch light, it was rather frustrating trying to figure the system out.
But when the door flung open, Kevin fell inside, gratefully. Rolf slowly crawled in behind him, praying blessings to some foreign door god for safe passage.
The view then switched to the camera at the bottom of the stairs.
Miraculously enough, they took their bare wits and managed to get their shoes and jackets off and neatly placed in their respective places by the front door. Ed looked impressed, before looking up the stairs, his frightened then sheepish face giving everything away.
Another camera switch showed the view from the Nanny Cam hidden in a frog on the mantelpiece.
Ed quickly took a couple of blankets Edd had stashed in the ottamen in front of his easy chair and tossed them on his friends, before hurrying out of sight.
The video then ended and Edd used the remote to switch the input and brought up Hulu and his profile. Rolf and Kevin groaned as he clicked on a documentary about animals trying to survive climate change in the Arctic Circle.
"Oh, come now," he said brightly. "We can all learn a little something about what not to do when we're out and about sans the master of the house."
But they were essential employees, so off to work they went, Edd to the hospital and Kevin to the town’s only mechanic’s garage.
Edd going to work made sense. He was an ER nurse and desperately needed in the midst of a pandemic, but Kevin wondered if the governor had lost his mind by letting businesses like his remain open.
He had enough money to pay everyone for ninety days and if he got a small business loan to help offset any losses from the pandemic, he could afford to pay everyone for another ninety more. Not to mention being able to pay for a decent cleaning crew to make sure everything would be safe once the people smarter than him said it was safe to open.
But people were still out driving for small gig jobs like online food deliveries, off and out of work parents were taking the time to teach their now homeschooled kids to drive, and for some reason, the number of fender benders repairs thanks to speeders quadrupled.
And that was in the first sixty days.
It was now day 132 and Kevin’s numb.
He’s down to a third of his crew because someone had either caught the virus or has been in close contact with someone who has, customers that have been coming in for decades were taking their business elsewhere because they just couldn’t deal with his simple requests to keep their facial coverings on and to stay at least six feet from each other in the shop’s oversized lobby, parts were taking forever to come in because they weren’t essential items so they were low shipping priority, and he can’t remember the last time he’s seen Edd.
Video calls are verboten in the hospital because of HIPPA, but he hasn’t even gotten a meme from the man in a week.
Stepping out of the hottest shower he can bare to take, he checks his phone.
There were the usual texts from his mother, Nazz, Rolf, and he thinks his baby grandson has gotten a hold of his mother’s phone again, or his daughter in law has had a stroke.
Quickly opening the last text, he saw the baby had sent him a seven second video of himself running with said phone and his mother screaming at his father to catch him while his sister declared that he had to come with her if he wanted to live.
His chuckle turned into a high pitched scream not unlike that of the lead starlet in many of the B List horror films The Eds watched when they were kids when the bathroom door swung open.
Edd fell to the floor with a cackle, holding his sides as he rocked side to side and laughed til he cried as Kevin stormed out of the bathroom, quickly donned his housecoat, and threw an old quilt some great aunt from Ireland made his father when he was a baby over his head.
“YOU SCARED ME!” He screamed at his husband as he went to stand over the man still tittering on the floor.
“You look ri-ridiculous,” Edd snickered as he sat up and did his best to catch his breath.
“How dare you?!” He huffed, arms crossed, looking rather ridiculous considering his usual immodesty of just walking around naked when no one but Edd was in the house. “And what are you doing here anyways?!”
“I live here?” Edd shrugged and Kevin finally got a good look at him.
His hair was wet and he only had on an old tshirt and shorts he had made out of an old pair of sweatpants.
“You’re home?” Kevin asked softly, a bit disbelieving what he was seeing.
“As of today,” Edd answered as he looked at his smartwatch before taking it off and placing it on the charger on his nightstand, “I get the next two weeks off, pending the results of my latest round of tests.”
“What happens next?”
Edd looked the worried man in his weary face and tried to be as honest but as gentle as possible.
“If I’m not sick, I go back. If I’m sick, I stay home til I get worse and then I go back because I’m dying.”
And for some strange reason, Kevin thinks he can fight Death.
“You won’t die,” he said, voice low, the quilt hitting the floor and his housecoat quickly followed.
Edd had to admire his moxie, even if he was being a bit ridiculous.
“You gonna fight a novel virus for me?” He smirked as he walked over the naked man in front of their dresser, arms crossed defiantly.
HIs back hitting the bed and his shorts hitting the floor was his answer.
But then Kevin realized that if Edd was in the house, so were the germs.
“Where did you shower?” He asked as he straddled him, arms crossed but his dick was getting harder by the second and Edd is about to die.
“Main bathroom in the hall,” Edd groaned, batting at his chest to get him to get back to business.
“Clothes?”
“Washer downstairs? Your stuff is still in the one in the garage.”
The great thing about the house was that the first owners put the washer and dryer in the garage, the next family built a laundry room addition off the kitchen for some reason, but it was awesome because Kevin could always use the old set in the garage for his heavy, greasy coveralls, while the laundry room was used for their everyday clothes.
But before Edd got stuck at the hospital for the last way too long in Kevin’s mind, they both had been using the garage for laundry to keep from bringing the germs the CDC was only now getting an inkling of an understanding of, in the house.
If he used the sanitize cycle on the fancy set in the laundry room, they’d be ok.
“Sanitize?”
“I’ll roast you in it myself if you don’t blow me.”
“But I don’t want to die, Eddward!” Kevin pouted, feeling randy, confused, and oh, so frustrated.
Edd sat up and pulled his shirt off to bring Kevin’s warming body closer to his burning own.
“I’m ok,” he whispered lovingly. “I got the clothes washed and I took a shower, just like you. We can clean the cars tomorrow. It’ll be fine.”
“Fuck that, I’m having Jimmy’s cleaning crew over here first thing to do it,” he said matter of factly as he wiggled himself off Edd and grabbed his legs to pull him to the edge of the bed so he wouldn’t be roasted in the fancy washing machine.
Tears pricked the edges of Edd’s eyes as Kevin swallowed him whole and his hands lost themselves in sunset red locks.
Never had he been able to hold onto him like this and he distantly thinks of suggesting him never cutting his hair again because -
“OH GOD!” He screams as he pushes him away, embarrassed that he was to the edge so quickly.
“You like that, huh?” Kevin snickered at him as he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and waggled his brows at him.
“I hate you,” Edd huffed back but his body had other plans.
It was a bit like riding a bike.
But it was also almost like going through the motions, though.
Kevin’s mouth nipping at his neck as he grabbed the lube off his nightstand.
Them trading kisses between trading the lube between themselves; Kevin coating his hand and Edd coating Kevin’s dick.
Then Kevin’s first knuckle dropped inside.
Edd hissed in the back of his throat as he quickly squeezed the dick in his lap before he tossed his head back with a groan.
He knew he wouldn’t last long, but this was gonna take a bit.
“Just breathe for me, Babe,” Kevin huffed, trying to set his mind right.
If he was this tight on his hand, he’s gonna lose his damn mind once he gets inside of him.
Edd took a breath and Kevin wiggled his finger as gently as he could. The stretch lasted for only a moment before Edd picked up his hips for a bit more, but Kevin stayed him with a hand on his stomach.
“Breathe,” he ordered as he slipped down off Edd’s torso and Edd’s breath is gone as quickly as he took it because his dick is in Kevin’s mouth again, naturally.
He relaxes into the bed, taking everything in.
The softness of the sheets, the spicy musk of the air freshener plugged into the wall, the soft dampness of Kevin’s hair in his hands, the soaking warmth of his mouth.
When his head hits the pillow, it’s like he’s been wrapped up in something.
He gasps as another finger is added to Kevin’s ministrations and when he tosses his head to the side he realizes that Kevin’s been using his pillow.
Dear Lort…
The man has his head between his legs, two, no, three fingers up his ass, and his pillow smells like him.
Kevin wouldn’t be mad if he came this instant, but he’d rather he fuck him like he wants to do his pillow right about now.
“Kevin, please.”
The way he spoke was just so urgent that Kevin didn’t argue.
He just moved.
He grabbed the lube as he came off of him, squeezing some quickly into his hand and then giving himself a couple of strokes as he got into position. Resting on his knees, he pulled Edd into his lap and said, “You do it, ok?”
Edd nodded because they both knew if Edd could control the motion, he’d be less likely to be hurt.
No one wants a trip to the hospital in a pandemic over something like this!
Bracing his hands onto Kevin’s sides and Kevin doing likewise, he slowly worked his hips back and forth til he was fully hilted, his head falling onto Kevin’s shoulder with a thunk.
Neither moved for a few, long, tense moments.
When Edd finally brought his head up, Kevin whispered, “I’m...I’m not gonna last long.”
“Me, either,” Edd sighed as he placed a chaste kiss to Kevin’s lips and moved a bit.
Kevin groaned into the soft movement, his hands falling onto Edd’s hips, and his mouth searching for those soft lips again.
His gut whirled tight when Edd pushed their mouths together and his brain shorted out when the needy man in his lap started sucking on his tongue like he would his dick.
He moaned into the kiss and Edd’s hips picked up speed.
Lean arms around his neck made his hips jerk up, but he dug his knees into the bed to anchor himself down when Edd wrapped his legs around him.
Hands explored every inch of skin they could touch and they kissed each other breathless as Edd drove himself up and down on his dick as fast and hard as he could.
“Fuck, I missed you,” Edd whined before kissing him again.
But it was harder this time and his hips weren’t moving in any sort of rhythm anymore.
Kevin brought him closer with one arm, the other slipped between them and started to stroke Edd’s throbbing cock.
Kevin couldn’t wait to get his mouth on it again, but for now, he’d suck Edd’s tongue in his mouth to give him a taste of what he wanted to do to him, with him, and just for him for the next two weeks.
The hand on his cock and the mouth on his tongue made his hips jerk.
HARD.
And Kevin’s dick hit a spot in him that hadn’t been touched in weeks.
He could barely scream as he fell apart, his ass squeezing the hard dick inside him as his whole body begged for more.
Long, thick, milky white strips of cum bursts between them as a roar came out of Kevin.
Strong hands grabbed lithe hips and Edd’s gone.
Release like he hadn’t known in far too long coursed through his whole being as Kevin came as hard as he did.
Once the room stopped spinning, Edd realized that they had fallen backwards, their heads at the feet of the bed.
“You need a haircut,” Kevin grinned affectionately at him, running a weak hand through dark, thick, wavy locks.
“And If you ever cut your hair again, I’ll kill you,” Edd absolutely purred, relishing the gentle touch.
“So noted,” Kevin chuckled as he willed himself up.
“Where ya goin now?” Edd whined.
“Bathroom,” Kevin grinned as he snatched the lube up from where it had fallen on his pillow and made his way to the bathroom.
Edd scrambled as best he could on his baby deer legs to follow him.
Kevin didn’t go back to work and Johnny’s cleaning crew didn’t come for two weeks.
Kevin and Edd shrugged it off and said they were busy catching up on projects at home.

Kevin trudged through Jimmy’s kitchen and then practically threw himself into the seat in the middle of the floor.
“What’s it going to be?” The blond asked as he pulled Kevin’s ever present snapback off his head and handed it to him before flipping out the smock that would keep the redhead’s clothes free from auburn clippings.
“The usual and do you think you can line me up?” Kevin asked sheepishly as he removed his scarf and Jimmy gasped.
“Well, hello there, Stud,” the blond giggled and Kevin’s cheeks and hair started to match.
“C’mon, Jimmy,” the ginger whined and Jimmy whipped the smock around him with a flourish.
“You got it.”
Twenty minutes later, the smock was covered in auburn and black hair, but Kevin felt like he looked okay.
Not like his dad, but like he was trying too hard to look grown up, either.
So maybe he could get a date this weekend and not look like a total douchebag skeeveball doing it.
“You’re gonna knock ‘em dead, Dude,” Jimmy snickered when Kevin handed him the mirror back and stood up to dig out his wallet. “Hey, Edd!”
Kevin turned around as Edd shut the door and while Edd knew it was rude to stare, he couldn’t help himself.
Or the force of habit that made him tug his beanie off his head as soon as he walked into Jimmy’s home barber shop.
Wild ebony curls flopped out from under the hat, white streaks crowding around the crown of his head making him look a bit like a mad scientist, or angel, Kevin couldn’t decide.
But the genius was floored that the black beard Kevin had apparently been hiding all Halloween weekend was on his face at all as his face was generally hairless any other time he had ever seen him.
“That’ll be $20, Kev,” Jimmy said as he wiggled his fingers at the stunned ginger, breaking the shock and awe going down in his kitchen. “And not a word of this to anyone, understand?” He continued as he pocketed the money with one hand and pointed at a sheepish Edd with the other.
When Kevin started to protest, Jimmy gave him a silencing glare and the redhead nodded before hurrying out the house, clapping Edd on the shoulder, tossing a small, “But it looks good, though,” over his own as the backdoor slammed behind him.
“Knock ‘em dead, Kev!” Jimmy called after him with a laugh and Kevin’s groan resounded all over the backyard, which made one of Rolf’s chickens squawk in annoyance at all the noise.
Edd let out a breath he hadn’t realized he had been holding when the door slammed closed and Jimmy giggled.
“He won’t tell,” the blond said firmly as he flipped all of Kevin’s hair off the smock and Edd took off his coat, putting his beanie in a sleeve.
“I know.”
“You boys behave!” Mrs Vincent said as she slipped into the Über, Edd’s father sizing up the redhead standing next to his son before his wife hissed at him to get in the car.
“Goodbye! Call me when you land!” Edd called after them with a few enthusiastic hand waves goodbye as the car pulled away and Mrs Vincent blew kisses as Mr Vincent glared at Kevin.
“Can we go inside now!?” Kevin whined once the ride sharing service car pulled out of the cul-de-sac. “My face is cold.”
“His face is cold,” Edd mocked as he jammed his key in the front door’s lock and stormed inside. “YOUR FACE IS COLD?!” He screamed as Kevin slammed the door behind him and started to toe off his shoes.
“JIMMY’S SEEN YOUR HAIR!” Kevin retorted and both of Edd’s shoes hit him in his shins as the ravenette stormed into the kitchen.
Kevin found him pacing between the sink and the stove, hands in front of his face in thoughtful contemplation, but his blue eyes were still in a same state of shock as they were the day before when they ran into each other at Jimmy’s.
The same shock they’ve been in all night since Kevin stopped by to hang out and had dinner with Edd and his parents before heading to the arcade to hang out some more, grab some ice cream, and then head back to Edd’s just as his parents left for another quick business trip.
“What?!” Kevin said accusingly and Edd exploded.
“What?! What do you mean, ‘what?!’” He seethed. “Where in the world did all that hair on your face come from?!”
“The same place as the hair on your head!” Kevin snarked back and Edd screamed in exasperation. “Don’t you dare, Double Dork!” Kevin fumed. “How come Jimmy can see your hair but I can’t?!”
Edd looked into hurt green eyes and knew that while he may have been wrong to keep his secret from Kevin for so long, he still needed to get his hair cut and Jimmy wasn’t gonna brag about it.
“Because you can’t keep your mouth shut!”
“Can, too!”
“You all but told my parents we’ve had sex! You don’t do that!”
“Well we can’t have sex when I can’t get my damn boyfriend out of his damn hat or pants for that matter,” Kevin pouted as he eyeballed the beanie on Edd’s head.
Edd stared at him in sheer speechlessness for a few moments before whispering, “Your boyfriend?”
Kevin kicked off the kitchen island he was leaning on and walked over to the stunned teen in the middle of the kitchen.
“Only if you want to be, Edd.”
Mutual crushes became obvious after they hung out all night chatting and catching up after spending most of their summer away from home with academic camps and a family vacation on Edd’s part and sports camps and a family reunion on Kevin’s at Nazz’s Back To School party Labor Day weekend.
They went to the homecoming dance as friends, as the other Eds got dates, Nazz went with Johnny, and Marie was skipping the event in feminist protest, but most were sure that it was because Edd wouldn’t take her. When Kevin took Edd out to his favorite pho place for his birthday, Edd’s mother was falling all over herself fawning over their blossoming bromance and his father started to stare the redhead down every chance he got.
When they came back from the ice cream parlor, they were holding hands, and Mrs Vincent was beside herself.
Edd was sure that his father would want to have a chat with him Wednesday evening when they got back home, but his buzzing phone on the counter let him know that nearly everyone that saw them out tonight was wondering what Kevin was wondering rightthissecond.
He slid his beanie off his head and scared blue eyes, full of fear of rejection, looked up into awed green, and a heavy hand twisted itself into silky curls as it tugged their owner in for a kiss.
Edd whined a bit at the scruff of Kevin’s mustache on his upper lip, but the apologetic smooch he got more than made up for the small scratch.
“Is that a yes?”
Blue eyes twinkled as Edd nodded and the next kiss was deeper, the scruff of Kevin’s beard on his chin tickled a bit and he squeaked so Kevin pulled away.
“You okay?”
Edd sighed as he took his face in his hands and said, “This is gonna take some getting used to,” as his thumbs rubbed at the trail of black hair on Kevin’s jaw.
“You’ve got a month,” Kevin shrugged.
“Then let’s get started,” Edd smirked as he drew him in for another kiss, but his hands fell away from his face as Kevin’s tongue teased the gap in his teeth and he moaned.
“Yes, let’s,” Kevin growled as he pulled away and then started to pull Edd to his room.
They fell onto the bed, hands everywhere, the scruff of Kevin’s beard on Edd’s neck driving him insane.
He shoved the redhead’s hands down his pants, moaning for more and begging for relief all at the same time.
Kevin hated that the hair on his face came in a completely different color than the hair on his head and started shaving as soon as the first few dark hairs sprouted towards the end of eighth grade.
They were juniors now, and between his Granddad’s prostate cancer and Nazz’s fussing, he finally decided to grow out a beard for No Shave November.
Begging off of Nazz’s Halloween party with an excuse of homework and finishing up his extension on his art midterm, and thankful that Edd’s parents were in town to distract him from his self-imposed absence, he didn’t put a razor to his face for a full 32 hours.
With his head in a helmet for the game on Friday, everyone wound up in Halloween celebrations on Saturday, he woke up Sunday morning looking just like his father.
But it was all scraggly and messy and he knew he needed help.
Jimmy was clutch, for sure, and even his mom said he looked like young man and not her big baby.
He just didn’t expect Edd to react the way he did, but he liked the smol smarty pants reaction.
He liked it a lot.
Every kiss had a sound coming out of Edd that’s just making him want to do more, but only as far as Edd will let him.
And Edd was hitting the throttle like he’d pump his Harley through the hills that surrounded their small town.
But once he got Edd out of his pants, he stopped.
“Whaaaaaat?!” Edd whined, fully turned on, half naked with only his tank top and socks on as Kevin stared at his crotch.
“Oh. My. Gawd.”
Edd looked down to see what Kevin was staring at and he squeaked when he figured it out and went to cover himself, but Kevin’s hands were faster and locked his long arms above his head.
“Hooooooow?!” He drawled in shocked lust, a silly, slightly mischievous grin on his face, his eyes sparkling with sheer delight.
“I don’t know! Genetics?!” Edd squeaked shyly and Kevin wanted to get all up in his damn gene pool as he looked back down at the mound of red hair between Edd’s legs that ain’t his!
“What the hell kind of genetics is that?!” Kevin said as he released his arms to use both of his hands to point at the joy of Ireland that shows all of Edd’s manhood.
“I could ask you the same damn question!” Edd retorted as he grabbed Kevin’s face, thumbs firmly pinching black haired cheeks.
“My mom’s from Wales.”
“The French have a few redheads, too,” Edd sighed. “I mean, Europe as a whole has a bunch of them running around so it goes to reason that the gene pool will produce a few anomalies.”
“This is not an anomaly,” Kevin said huskily as he took Edd’s cock in his hand and the smaller male arched his back on a moan. “This is fucking amazing.”
A kiss to each nipple made him giggle, tiny bites to his side had him squirming, and Edd knew he wasn’t behaving and didn’t care when Kevin took all of who he was into the back of his throat and hummed.
His nose buried deep in Zestfully clean auburn curls made him well up a bit because he couldn’t believe he was finally getting to touch the boy he couldn’t get off his mind.
Said boy couldn’t keep his hands off his face and Kevin’s ego was getting stroked.
Soft hands smoothed back the hair on his beard a bit before gripping his jaw to get him to suck him down harder. When he did so, a bit of pre-cum came out and Kevin had to pull off of him because he knew he’d get him to cum but he wasn’t ready for that just yet.
“Why?!” Edd sobbed as he kissed the mound of red hair that was making him feel a bit like a bull in a china shop.
“B-Because,” Kevin stuttered, suddenly realizing that he didn’t know if Edd was truly ready to go all the way just yet.
“Well, if you’re not going to finish me off then kill me because I’m going to die!” Edd cried, tears coming down his cheeks like rain, hurt in his blue eyes.
“You’re not going to die,” Kevin smiled as pulled him into a cuddle. “I just…”
“Oh. You’re not ready, yet?” Edd asked softly.
“Oh, I’m plenty ready,” Kevin said reassuringly. “I was just wondering –“
He was cut off by Edd rolling him over onto his back and then sitting on his stomach, ass rubbing softly, teasingly against his cock.
“I’m ready when you are.”
And Irish eyes smiled.
It wasn’t anything they hadn’t done before, at least not to each other. Just themselves in curious exploration, then needed hormonal relief.
Where Kevin would need a gentler touch, Edd liked it rougher.
Kisses on his neck turned him on and made him open himself a bit more to the redhead, which made it easier to accept the dick he spent way too much time thinking about in the one place no one but him would ever touch.
A condom provided protection from the semen induced mess and eased Edd’s germ filled mind, and a bit more slickness to the task at hand as the lubed up touches got harder and kisses got rougher, a few leaving burning marks in their wake.
When Edd finally got through the haze the pain of sex had sent him into, he looked up to the man hovering above him, the strain in his arms showing with throbbing veins and his face went hot from all his staring.
“You okay?”
“Move.”
A slightly relieved moan turned into a shrill cry as Kevin’s hips moved out slowly only to snap back in.
“I’m s-sorry.”
“I-It’s okay. J-Just go slow. Please.”
Edd clung to him as he did his best to move as slow as possible moving his face to expose his neck and silently ask for more of those stupid delicious neck kisses.
He shifted his shaking legs a bit to relax them from the strain of being held open so wide, and it made Kevin hit his prostate.
Hard.
He was sure he’d never screamed like that in his life, but he was also sure he’d never felt anything like that ever before, either.
And he needed it to happen again.
NOW.
“A-Again.”
Kevin growled before biting his collarbone as he gave another hard thrust and Edd’s perfectly manicured nails left their mark across his back as he arched his back and screamed again.
“D-Don’t you d-dare stop.”
“Never.”
A heavy hand twisted into his hair and pulled while the other held his knee into his chest. He wrapped his free leg around the redhead’s hips and they kissed sloppily while Kevin railed him as fast and as hard as he could.
When Kevin felt the grip on his shoulders loosen and one of Edd’s hands crawl into the space between them he pulled back a bit to see what the other was up to.
“I don’t think so,” he huffed as batted Edd’s hand away from himself and the ravenette fell back into the bed on a choked sob that turned into a moan as Kevin gripped him and tried to keep his hand and hips moving at the same time.
He failed, but Edd didn’t care.
An opened mouth kiss to the sensitive spot behind his right ear had him shaking, but it was the tiny kiss to the underside of his jaw that made his overstimulated body cum, screaming the redhead’s name into the ceiling so shrilly, if he didn’t have a look of sheer bliss on his face, Kevin was sure he’d hurt him.
But Edd squishing his face into his neck did kinda hurt, especially since he couldn’t breathe and he had to wiggle away, leaving tiny kisses and beard scratches behind as he did so and Edd hummed as he melted into the bed.
In the afterglow, Edd guided him through all their usual kisses that first began after Edd’s birthday, but today seemed just a bit more sweeter, even with the hair on Kevin’s face making things different.
“Just a month?” Edd asked as they sat on the floor of his shower, the hot water easing the crick in his back as he leaned into Kevin’s chest.
“Us?” Kevin asked frantically as he sat up from leaning in the back of the tub and Edd cracked a smirk at the pout on his silly, grown up face.
“No, this,” he said as he pointed to Kevin’s beard.
“Oh.”
“Yeah,” Edd giggled. “I’m not breaking up with you in a month, that’s just silly.”
“Yeah, yeah, ya dork,” Kevin muttered. “I guess I can keep it, if ya like it…”
“I do,” Edd said with a thoughtful look in his eyes. “But, it’s your face.”
“Let’s give it a month,” Kevin shrugged as he pulled him close again.
Ten years later, they got married in November.
Jimmy lined up Kevin’s beard for the event and toasted to them and the continuation of the longest No Shave November ever.
Author’s Note: I have a chafe on my lower lip. Can somebody come and kiss it better?
Sealed With A Kiss
Kevin quietly closed the door to the garage and leaned against it as he took a deep breath and let home settle into his bones as he toed off his shoes and kicked them into the cubby hole Edd kept by the door.
He rolled his weary neck and came alive at the sound of laughter coming from the master bedroom.
A quizzical look crossed his face as he placed the pizza box in his hands in the refrigerator and the laughter died down to a snicker and then a gasp before silence filled the house again.
Trudging through the kitchen, he took the backstairs up to the second floor of the house and that’s when he heard it.
The soft whip of a crisp page being turned.
When Kevin got to their bedroom door, he saw Edd literally curled up with a book.
Knees in his chest, the book cradled between them, his arms wrapped around the sheets and blankets over his legs, reading glasses on the tip of his button nose, earbuds in his ears.
And Kevin’s mind flashed back to many a rainy fall Saturday in high school, a crisp winter morning in college, cool spring nights at their first apartment, and bright summer mornings spent on the deck when they first bought the house with Edd’s nose stuck in a book, earbuds in his ears completely oblivious to the world around him.
Despite a good fifteen years between the time he first saw him like this and now, there was still something about the light in his eyes; a child-like yearning for knowledge.
Most of the knowledge came in the form of math and science books, more often than not these days, though, the knowledge was elbow deep in lab reports that he had to decipher to make the correct diagnosis for the doctors in the hospital across town.
But occasionally, the knowledge would be in the form of a comic book, murder mystery series, or the memoir or autography of someone he looked up to.
Tonight, however, it was the latest installment in some chick lit series that one of the interns at the hospital introduced him to that they read whenever they needed something to take their mind of the stress of the job, but still feel like they were engaging their brain a bit.
What struck Kevin the most about the whole scene wasn’t just the fact he was reading a book that was light on any sort of intellectual fare, but that the stack of reports, text books and references he used to decipher the lab result’s, and his laptop were being ignored.
As he stepped into the room, his shadow from the hallway’s night light cast its long, dark cover across the room and Edd looked up from his book, near wide eyed and pleasantly surprised.
And Kevin froze.
It was the same look that Edd gave him when he first approached Edd to ask for “help” on a lab report in their physical science class sophomore year of high school.
A budding friendship had turned into a crush for the redhead and all he really wanted was more time with the smartest of the Eds, but Edd’s time was so monopolized by school, work, his parents’ sudden, heavy involvement in preparing him for college, and his other Ed friends, that Kevin couldn’t think of anything else to do with him that would help him gauge Edd’s interest without letting his own be known.
Edd kindly added him to his schedule and six months later, added him to his quiet life.
It was and now is a life that has its quiet ups and downs, loud celebrations; tears of fury and happiness, and a love lived out loud since the spring semester of junior year of high school when the quiet of who they were got too loud and they couldn’t hear each other for fear of world’s eternal silence.
The world didn’t silence them, and like a deep crescendo, their family and friends surrounded them with love and support.
A deep need wrapped itself in his gut and thudded through his chest as Edd sat up and started to pull his earbuds out of his ears.
“Don’t move.”
Edd gave him a knowing look and Kevin whimpered.
“Please don’t move,” he begged as he emptied his pants pockets of his wallet, keys, phone, and the cough drops that got him through the baseball games he coached at the high school.
Edd cocked a brow and settled back into the bed, picked up his book and pretended to read as Kevin went about his usual routine of dropping the day off at the dresser, ripping his tear away track pants off and tossing them into the hamper with his hoodie.
In the few quick moments it took Kevin to clear out his pockets and shed half his clothes, Edd would catch his eye in the mirror for as split second and the look in Kevin’s eyes had him smoldering.
To be loved was something that Edd hadn’t known he wanted to be until Kevin came along and loved him.
As the redhead’s crush deepened, he would get a longing look in his eyes. It was as if he couldn’t get enough of who Edd was, even with the ravenette rightnexttohim.
With time and so much love returned on Edd’s part, the look eased into simple adoration.
The longing would occasionally return and Edd would jump right into his needy depths, but he hadn’t seen this look in years.
When Kevin’s arm reached around to tug the back of his shirt over his head, Edd said, “Stop.”
Kevin looked at him in confusion until Edd looked over his reading glasses and beckoned him to the bed with one crooked finger.
Kevin stalked to the bed and promptly jumped on it when Edd went to take his glasses off.
“No, no,” he cooed as he put the glasses back in place. When Edd blinked up at him, he said, “It’s just that…you remind me of this guy I used to know.”
“Who?” Edd asked skeptically because they both knew everyone in each other’s lives.
“Just this cutie that grew up across the street from me,” Kevin shrugged and Edd gave him a sly grin.
“Oh, really now?” He snickered.
“Yeah,” Kevin said softly as he tucked a silky black curl behind a perfect ear and pulled his earbuds away. His eyes sparkled as he grinned smugly and said, “But don’t tell my husband.”
“I won’t tell if yours if you don’t tell mine,” Edd said lowly as his eyes grew dark with lust and Kevin flashed him a seductive smile.
“Deal.”
Edd then grabbed the collar of shirt and pulled him in for a kiss, but forgot about a sore spot on his lower lip and the kiss wasn’t as gentle as it should have been.
He pulled back a bit on a whimper and Kevin took his face in his hands as he eyeballed his lips.
“What happened, Baby?” He asked gently as he found the sore spot and his eyes grew concerned.
“I…I dunno,” Edd sighed as he went to bite his lip and Kevin tutted at him as he pulled his lip away from the gap in his teeth.
“You only bite at it when you’re worried and you’ve got a nice sore spot here, so what’s up?” Kevin said as he settled in his lap and crossed his arms.
Edd sighed as he looked at his hands.
He couldn’t really think about how his lip got so sore, but when he woke up yesterday morning, it just was. He put Carmex on it so it would heal up faster and did his best not to nibble at it because he knew that would make it worst, but somehow, it did just that.
“Is it the kids?” Kevin asked because he knew their kids were a handful on a good day and it wore on Edd more than he would ever say.
Edd shook his head no and Kevin caught him glancing at the stack of work on his nightstand as he did so.
“Work?”
Edd couldn’t even meet his knowing gaze as he sighed so he put his face in his hands.
“Baby, you can talk to me. You know that,” Kevin said gently as he tugged Edd’s wrists away from his face and weary blue eyes and a pout greeted him as the doctor’s hands fell away from his face.
“I don’t wanna,” he pouted as he crossed his arms and Kevin couldn’t help the laugh that came out of him.
“And now I know where Noah gets it from,” he grinned as he placed his hands around Edd’s face and drew him in for a kiss.
It was just a small peck to the sore spot on his lip, but Edd could have sworn it healed right up as Kevin pulled away.
“Better?”
Edd nodded, grabbed his collar again, and pulled him in for another kiss, but the way Kevin kissed him back left him shaking.
Their kisses always varied; sweet smooches goodbye, eager lip locks to say hello again, a quick real kiss just because, and hot, passionate kisses that led to clothes being torn away, hickeys laid on sweat slicked skin, and moans drawn from the depths of their souls to communicate just how much he loved and needed him.
But this kiss took Edd back to the beginnings of who they were.
A teasing wrestling-tickle match had ended with Kevin pinned to Edd’s living room floor and instead of saying Uncle, Kevin laced his free forearm around Edd’s, grabbed his collar and pulled him in for kiss that had them in what seemed to be a never ending lip lock, but the grandfather clock in the corner chiming six times as Edd’s mother pulled her car in the garage made it more like thirty minutes.
Just like back then, a needy tongue swiped his lower lip, paying special attention to the sore near the middle of it and when Edd opened his mouth on light moan, Kevin’s tongue eased inside. The dance it did with Edd’s own was slow and delicate, the nervousness that initially accompanied it was long gone but the need was still there.
A heavy hand twisted into his hair, the other gripped his hip, and as Kevin settled between his legs, Edd let out a moan.
Kevin tore his mouth away and his head whipped to the open bedroom door, expecting to hear Lydia whine.
“Mother came by today and took them away.”
Kevin whipped his head back and cocked a brow as Edd went on, a sly smirk playing on his lips, “But don’t tell my husband. He’s pretty protective of his kids.”
“You’re an adult, though,” Kevin grinned as he slid his hands under Edd’s old college swim team tshirt.
“I could say the same about you,” Edd smirked as he ripped Kevin’s shirt off. “But I don’t know too many adults with a body like this. Damn.”
Kevin smiled as awed blue eyes flitted across his torso.
Even in their mid-thirties, Kevin’s body looked like it did when they were in their teens. Muscles stayed toned thanks to daily workouts, Edd’s health conscious diet, and the manager at GNC.
The tan he held in his childhood and well into his college years came and went with the seasons now because between Edd, the kids, and indoor gym classes at the school, he wasn’t spending as much time outside now as he was then. So his freckles would fade, leaving Edd eager for spring.
Baseball season was in full swing now, tournaments nearly every weekend.
And the sun would start to kiss Kevin’s skin with tiny brown spots again and Edd would kiss them back.
“Gotta show the kids what’s up, ya know?” the redhead as he flexed a bit and Edd cocked a brow.
Kevin had left the school with the baseball team at lunch time to head to the city for a game that would be happening a good half hour after both high schools let out for the day.
Edd knew that there wouldn’t be many cheering for Peach Creek as most would get to the game just as it ended, so Kevin had his work cut out for him in keeping the player’s spirits up.
This typically meant that he would tap into his Big Kid side; there would be dirty jokes, general rough housing, very tall tales of his own high school escapades, and worldly advice on how to deal with their own.
He’d usually be dead tired by the time he got back home, but for some reason, tonight he was back to himself again and he wanted to play with Edd.
“Show me,” Edd purred and Kevin dove under the covers.
When he wedged himself between Edd’s legs again, Edd could see nerves shaking through trembling fingers that he hadn’t seen since junior year and they had sat through a sex talk in their health class.
They hadn’t had sex yet because the information they wanted to teach them how to do things right was scant and contradictory.
The talk helped as it gave them resources they didn’t have, but the idea of the act itself was still daunting.
Edd was the one who couldn’t stand the waiting anymore and while he walked Kevin through it, the redhead was just as nervous as he was and it showed.
Shaking, slow, jerky movements.
A million questions as to how he was feeling.
Not enough kisses and too rough touches.
Edd barely got to enjoy it because he was doing everything he could to get Kevin out of the headspace of trying not to hurt him and to just let things happen naturally.
Edd drew him in for a kiss and Special K came back to him.
Hands up his shirt, that makeout kiss on his lips.
Purposeful kisses down his neck and Kevin’s hands down his sweatpants.
A high gasp as Kevin’s mouth found a nipple to play with and just when Edd was ready to reach his peak, Kevin pulled away and Edd growled.
“Shh! Do you want your husband to walk in and hear this!?” Kevin hissed, a teasing glint in his eyes and a playful grin teasing the corners of his mouth.
“Let him hear!”
Needy blue eyes met sparkling green and five seconds later, Edd’s glasses are tossed haphazardly on top of his lab reports and he was naked and moaning, the noise echoing around the room and he vaguely remembered how often he wished someone would walk in and hear them when he was in high school.
The biggest jock in school wanted him.
Maybe if they saw Kevin’s head between his legs, they’d understand, but thankfully no one did, as the look in Kevin’s eyes whenever he saw him in public was enough.
love, adoration, admiration, respect.
When Edd looked down to see that look for himself, his heart took flight as his body shook.
You can call Coach Kevin Anthony Barr many things, but don’t call him late for dinner.
The not so secret rumor was that he was Double Dee’s LiL Cockslut and he liked that just fine as long as Edd let him be the only cockslut for him.
But despite his worshiping of the geek’s dick, he truly loved that he could do such intimate things with him.
The blissed out glow on his face as he arched his back and rolled through one orgasmic wave after another wasn’t just an ego boost, it was a soul connection.
Edd spoke to him in a way no one else ever had or would.
To find someone who understood what his life was like growing up in their small town, to share his feelings about being out in a world that wants you to hide yourself away, and who wanted to stand by his side and live it all with him was a gift Kevin was going to treasure.
A bite to his side made him whine, kisses from his navel to his ear made him moan.
“I’m sorry,” Kevin whispered as he laid down next to him and pulled him into a cuddle.
“Wha?” Edd asked as his orgasmic haze hadn’t faded just yet.
“For messing up so much when we first started doing this.”
Edd titled his head up a bit so he could get a read on what Kevin was thinking as he peered at him through slightly glazed over blue eyes.
Seeing the remorse on Kevin’s face was one thing, as he would often be a bit contrite about any bedroom mishaps they had in the past whenever they would finally experience something in the fullness of its pleasure later.
But the worry in his eyes let Edd know another thing.
Coach Barr had to have A Talk with his team.
“What happened?” He asked empathetically as he leaned his head on Kevin’s chest and started to play a nonsensically game of connect the dots with the freckles on his abs with his fingertips.
“So apparently Tommy thinks that he’s a stud puppy or something, and Tim has it on good authority that he’s not,” Kevin sighed and Edd’s face fell.
“Nuuuuu.”
“Yep,” the redhead sighed again as he tried to shake the memory of the uncomfortable but needed conversation he had with his team over their post-game dinner out of his head.
“Well, let’s be real, Kev,” Edd said as he sat up a bit and propped his elbow up so he could lean his head on his hand. “Perfect first time sex only happens on television and in movies and stuff.”
“She laughed at him,” Kevin deadpanned, as imperfection aside; at least Edd didn’t make fun of him after their lackluster first roll in the hay.
“Holy shit,” Edd breathed, his own ego taking an empathic bruise for Tommy’s.
“Yeah, it was bad apparently and after she left, she called her girlfriends about it and word got around, but no one said anything because Guy Code, ya know?” Kevin said as he played in Edd’s hair, not even fazed by his cursing because what the fuck else would he say to that?! “But then Tommy had to go running his mouth about his hitting and hitting average and Tim just went all nope on his ass.”
“Tell me this was after the game?” Edd groaned into his shoulder.
“Yeah, and we won, too!”
Triumphant grin met mischievous smirk as Edd said, “Does my hotshot boyfriend want a prize?”
Wide, eager green eyes lit up as Kevin nodded.
He hadn’t gotten a prize in way too long and he was dying for a memory to put on his heart’s shelf.
“Oh, dear God, yes, please.”
“Well,” Edd said softly. “My kids are gone for the weekend and I’m not dealing with work because no, and my husband is out for a bit, so maybe we could have a little fun for old time’s sake.”
If Edd was suggesting what Kevin thinks he’s suggesting, he’s gonna lose his mind.
“Oh, dear God.”
“I’ve just missed you a lil bit is all,” Edd pouted as he snuggled closer. “You’ve been gone all evening…”
As his voice trailed off, his fingertips lazily ran soft circles across Kevin’s chest. It was a thing he would do whenever he wanted the redhead’s attention.
And Kevin’s at full staff.
“I’m-I’m here now,” Kevin stuttered as he rolled on top of Edd, slightly shaking with nerves, but so much more need.
“You gonna stay?” Edd cooed.
“Uh huh,” Kevin breathlessly nodded and Edd gave him a grin that made the redhead pull him into a tight hug. “Forever.”
“That’s a long time, Kev,” Edd whispered, gently running his fingertips across the redhead’s shoulders.
“I know,” Kevin said quietly as a hand lightly grazed Edd’s side before grasping his hip. “But I know we can do it.”
“What would my husband say?” Edd grinned as the answer echoed in his head.
“That you should.”
The serious look in his eyes used to shake Edd whenever Kevin would reassure him that he was in it for the long haul. They were mere kids when Kevin would first make these promises and Edd would wonder if he knew the gravity of what he was speaking.
But over the years, Kevin kept every promise he made from texting him when he got home, to making sure he got his homework done and turned in on time, to showing him that he loved him as much as he told him, to saying I do, to making sure Edd and the kids never had to worry about a thing.
“I do wonder, though…,” Edd mused, an amused grin on his face and Kevin rolled his eyes.
“Wonder what, smart ass?” Kevin snarked as he started to pin Edd’s hands above his head.
“What my boyfriend would say.”
That longing look settled into his eyes again as he answered.
“That he’s gonna try and you gotta try with him.”
Kevin’s answer wasn’t what he was expecting, but it was what they needed.
For every misstep back that they took in the tango that was their relationship, Kevin was always the one trying to get things back on the right foot. So many thought it was because the fiery tempered, quick acting but slow to think redhead was the one fucking things up with the even tempered, thoughtful, deliberate acting dork. But the reality was far from typical hot headed idiot pissing off his more level headed boyfriend.
Edd could be petty, easily driven to jealousy, and had a dark side that ran deeper than a black hole.
After they started dating, all the nonsense from those outside of their general sphere of love and support got to Edd quickly and it could be hard to shake.
Kevin would beg him to stick with him and give them a chance and Edd would try but Kevin would try even harder. In seeing the redhead’s efforts to keep them together and just live his own damn life, Edd took the baby steps he needed to get into step with not only Kevin, but himself, and thus, they danced.
“Can we try making love? Please?”
“Absolutely.”
A warm, silky touch eases its way inside him and it’s like his worries and anxieties are shattered away in its wake so that love can break through.
The act itself is arduous, but needed.
He leans into Kevin’s kiss on his cheek and held onto his free hand as Kevin pushed him to the edge only to pull back when he was ready.
A needy whine flew out of his throat and Kevin groaned as he slicked himself up.
“Just wait. Pl-Please.”
Edd nods but the desperate anticipation in his eyes nearly makes Kevin come undone.
He wanted HIM.
Still.
Making love was peak affection for them but with work and the kids, they never got to do it as often as they wanted, let alone needed to.
But Edd would still wait for His Kevin.
He waited for after baseball practice so they could walk over to the library together and study, he waited for him to explain himself after misunderstandings got out of hand, and he waited on him to say I love you so he could hear what his actions meant.
He waited up so many nights for Kevin to come home from wherever it was his dream to play the game that was America’s pride and joy had taken him.
In high school and college, he would worry until Kevin would text him or slip into the bed with him and tell him the score of the game and then score a kiss with his favorite cheerleader.
After college, grown up leagues at the YMCA brought more of the same, and when he got hired on at the high school to coach the baseball team, teach boys gym and the same junior health class that taught them so much, Edd would wait up with a pile of his own work that did more than distract him from the hours the spent apart.
It allowed him help and heal.
But even a doctor needs care.
Kevin didn’t ever really have to fight for his attention because Edd was so good at keeping his priorities straight, unless the kids were involved, and then it was a tag team approach of giving their children the attention they needed and deserved and showing them what a healthy loving relationship looked like by their words and actions towards one another.
But this was one thing they’d always keep for themselves.
A gasp tears through Edd’s vocal cords from the pressure and pain that love oddly brings upon him and Kevin growls as he bottoms out.
Kevin presses their cheeks together as he hovers above him and slowly breathes in and out, and in moments Edd is breathing with him.
“Oh, Kevin. Please.”
The redhead whined as he pulled out, and with practiced perfection, Edd arched his back as he fell back inside.
A hand flies into thick, messy hair as red as the sunset, and knots itself in the soft threads.
Kevin groans at the touch, leaning his head into it as one hand slides up Edd’s back, the other gripping his hip.
“Don’t stop,” is whispered into his ear as Edd’s legs wrap around his waist.
It’s all the encouragement he could ever need.
Edd’s free arm falls back and grips the underside of the headboard as his hips start to rock with Kevin’s own.
The hand in Kevin’s hair holds the redhead right where the doctor wants him; face to face.
Edd’s eyes are closed, but he’s breathlessly breathing him in.
“Just like that.”
Three little words that let Kevin know that he was doing things just right. Hell, in his book it was better than I love you because it was confirmation that his actions in this exact moment were what Edd needed them to be.
He doesn’t stop, even when he kisses him senseless.
The hand that was under the headboard comes away to hold onto his shoulder and hold him closer.
His high and whiny breaths were like a lover’s song for Kevin’s soul.
Tiny, tender kisses to the sore spot on his lip were as soothing to his soul as they were to his face.
A high cry leaves him and his grip on reality is shaken for a brief moment before Kevin pulls back a bit and then shakes him up again.
“Kevin.”
The tone is dark, but Lort is it needy, too.
Kevin chuckles and a quick idea pops into his head.
Reluctantly, he pulls his head away from Edd’s tight grip and lays his head on his chest as he wraps his arms around his middle, holding them together, but the position arched Edd’s back completely off the bed and gave Kevin leverage to plow him into oblivion.
Except he didn’t.
He slowed his movements until Edd set the pace and a wrecked sob filled the room as Edd’s mind flashed to the first time they did this.
Kevin had lost all control in this position and while the result was mind blowing, Edd was left wanting. In Kevin’s mind, it wasn’t worth trying again because Edd didn’t think much of it as he did of Kevin.
To him, having the redhead’s genuine affections was enough.
So they moved on, but after what he had been through with his team tonight, Kevin had to make it up to him.
If only to make it up to himself.
“Make it up to me,” Edd thought as he gripped the sheets and screamed.
Kevin followed his pace as he held Edd as tight and close as he could and uttered one word.
“Eddward.”
A desperate call of his name and Edd’s on the edge.
His hands fly into Kevin’s hair as his hips rock faster. The grip around his torso loosens, but a tight grip on his cock replaces it and Edd’s done.
His arms flailed as he thrashed about the sheets and screamed his love’s name over and over again as one orgasmic wave after another washed over them both.
“A-Again,” Edd muttered as the last aftershock died away and Kevin lifted his fuzzy while taking a deep breath that gave him a much needed second wind.
Pulling Edd up and into his lap, he said, “I’m ready when you are.”
He got a nod immediately and five minutes later, Edd’s hips were rocking with his own again, the ravenette’s grip on his shoulders was numbing, but he didn’t care as he gently kissed the sore spot on his lip again and again.
This round was slower, gentler.
The kisses were so much more passionate.
Every touch was soft, and every need in them was fulfilled.
They didn’t need to speak, their actions were a sonic boom, and the reverb just strengthened who they were to each other.
And Kevin finally got it.
Who he was to Edd and for Edd was enough.
The way Edd had kissed him after that first time was like a seal on all they were. Every kiss since then was an epoxy that held their love in place.
He would never break it.
As they cuddled in the afterglow, Edd got more kisses than he would ever know what to do with.
He knew his lip would still be sore in the morning, but he didn’t care.
