I recently came face to face with a parasitic plant called dodder. (Unsure of gif exact species of Cuscuta). This plant creates a mess of bright orange netting over an area; it looks like silly string from a spraycan. The dodder spreads eagerly by wrapping its vines around plants and will pierce plants by growing a haustoria - rootlike structures - into the vascular system of the host to suck out nutrients. Does this remind anyone else of the movie The Ruins?

Starting up these two little babies today! 💚

Both the succulent and the vine plant are being fueled by clear quartz which will allow for them to be a little more grounded and unstressed. I’ve also gone ahead and spritzed them with a water/lemongrass mix, to help ward of gnats.

The succulent has a a piece of green jasper in it, to encourage root and over all plant growth, while the vine plant holds a piece of moss agate to encourage vitality.

Today while watering my plants I found out a good 6-7 foot piece of vine (one that I was worried about) had broken off from the main plant who knows how long ago. I am on a mission to salvage the parts that where still healthy.
