Yoko stretches out in Khany's bed, glad that the Vinean has come to see the advantages of an actual mattress over the hard mechanical sleeping nooks, if only for more pleasant activities than neural-induced sleep...
"I brought you something," she remembers, gesturing to her bag on the floor.
"A gift?" Khany smiles and leans over to pull the bag towards them. "Thank you! You know you don't need to get me something every time we meet?"
"I feel like I still haven't repaid you yet for all the things and adventures you've given me... and I like finding little gifts for you! But don't thank me yet, you haven't even seen what it is yet! And you might get into trouble one day, collecting so many things from earth."
"Oh, I'm already well known as an eccentric with my earthen memorabilia," Khany laughs and leans over Yoko to peck her on the lips.
Yoko snorts, grinning against Khany's smile. "Who are you calling memorabilia?"
When Khany sits back up, the zipper of the bag in her hand has pulled open, and she takes out a palm sized metallic disk. "Is this my gift, then?"
She turns it over, pressing on the middle -
"Not that!" Yoko squeaks, snatching the disk up and hurrying from the bed to the middle of the room, placing it down and backing away from it as it starts to emit golden sparks and light. "Oh, this just had to be one time Monya responds to the signal in a timely manner..."
"What is going on?" Khany asks from the bed, utterly confused.
"Pass me my shirt, will you?" Yoko just sighs as the time machine materializes in front of them. "And you might also want to get dressed before our teenaged guest walks in on us..."
