Ironside s3e5- "A Bullet for Mark"

I just need to share this. This old episode of Ironside from the late 1960s has become probably my favorite whump episode of anything ever. And I watch a LOT of shows.

It has everything! Caretaker/whumpee role reversal, deeply concerned friends, surprisingly concerned minor characters, a serious wound treated seriously with lengthy hospital waiting and uncertain updates about his condition (etc.), secondary attempts on his life, important conversations and introspection by other character?? It's just so good. I have honestly watched this episode about 20 times in the last couple of months and I do not get tired of it.

Anyone interested?

I know this isn’t Vintage Whump (Also me) but just curious.. would anyone enjoy a documented list of all of the injuries in the ORIGINAL Magnum PI with Tom Selleck? I’m currently bingeing through it and I’m in the middle of season 2 and I know he’s already been shot like 3-4 times, pistol whipped, almost drowned, had PTSD type flashbacks, etc. And that’s all just in the first season-ish. I’d document them all for myself but I don’t know if I have the effort.. but I might do it if y’all would like the list 🤔❤️

Welcome to VintageWhump!

Howdy all!

Welcome to my new blog! I’m vintagewhump- but you may already know me as whumploversanonymous! Same girl, different blog.

Why the new blog you ask? My whole life I’ve had a passion for the “oldies” genre in general. I love the music, shows, movies- everything! And that’s where I got my start as a whumper! I fell in love with the angstier Kryptonite scenes in Adventures of Superman (1952) and the numerous intensely injury-filled moments of Scarecrow and Mrs. King (1983). I’ve watched more westerns and war movies than I could possibly count and scenes dozens and DOZENS of just bullet-whump instances from these! As I said, I’ve always had a passion for these thing, but I felt a bit out of place posting them on my current blog (idk, I felt like spamming oldies was a bit not what you signed up for over there lol), so I rarely post older whump scenes -despite loving them so much. SO, I figured I’d solve the problem by creating a second blog just focusing on the oldies! This way, if there’s any oldies type whump fans out there who don’t like (or just don’t typically view) the modern stuff, they don’t have to be bothered with that either!

What about whumploversanonymous?? No- I’m not shutting down the other blog. This is just a side/co project. Granted, for now, most of my creative efforts will be driven to populating this new blog and creating content (gifs, videos, fanfics) that you haven’t probably seen before (since it’s not you know.. modern)

aaanyway, that’s a long post but before I go I’d like to thank all the members of the whumpers chat room and whump community who spurred me on to create this blog and not only encouraged me to embrace my love of oldies but who willingly watched (and got sucked into!) some of my favorite shows/movies with me! I love you all so much and thank you for you help! (Looking at you Jo, Emrys, Marie, Val, Nikki, “ouch”, - ALL of you! I love you so much!!) Please give me a follow, I promise you won’t regret it!

I'd love to see some gifs of any of the (many many) whumpy moments in Hang Em High (1968) 😁

My anonymous friend sent this quite a long time ago (Well a few weeks ago anyways) and I instantly watched the movie. It is a very, very good, very, very whumpy movie. I absolutely loved it! Thank you so much for your suggestion! The gifsets are coming! I will be making a couple from this movie since there were indeed many, many whumpy moments! To any whumpers who like manhandling, scars, shootings, fevers, characters getting beat up, etc. This is the movie for you!!

An Update

Hey guys! I just wanted to fill you all in on where I’ve been and assure you that more posts are coming!

I just got back from a week+ long vacation away from technology (mostly) and in my absence I got several amazing requests and comments from you all! Thank you so much for the continued support and I will be bringing you more posts soon!

Even it may take me a while to get to them- Please! Do keep sending requests/comments my way! I love the ideas and I’m excited by the fact that people are interested in my content! Just one thing- I will obviously respond to any request, regardless of who sent it or if it was sent anonymously, but in your requests I’d like to ask you to consider requesting with your account (or at least giving me some way to contact you!). I will absolutely leave anonymous requests open (bc I know that some people need/want to do that) but since I am new to this whole request process I would appreciate the ability to update you individually about the status of your requests.
