I know I'm not Australian but honestly I don't care, and I'm sure Jewish Australians feel even more strongly about this. I am already very tired of non-Jewish Australians crying about how they're scared and how this is about gun violence, yada yada yada. You shouldn't be scared if you're not Jewish and not a friend of Jews. This attack was not about guns. It was about antisemitism. It was about increasingly escalating antisemitic violence going unchecked by the Australian government and Australian society. There was a bunch of horrific antisemitic graffiti at the exact spot the attack happened just a week earlier. There were people in the streets calling to gas the Jews in the same city the other year and hardly anything was done about it. Stop whining about being scared or making the discourse about firearms if you're the same kind of antisemitic schmuck that enabled this attack to happen.

I just heard about the synagogue attack in West Bloomfield, Michigan. My heart dropped into my stomach as I feared yet another massacre, but it appears the congregants of Temple Israel are all safe. Baruch Hashem. May the injured security guard have a speedy recovery.

Maybe this is me being toxic, but I personally think that people who have blogs dedicated to vintage/historical content have a responsibility to not share things that call for all Jewish people to be murdered, or that feature the antisemitic trope that Jewish people control the media… Like, you’re the one claiming to know historical things. You are the one positioning yourself as an authority. How did you miss blatant antisemitism? One ethic would’ve prevented this.

Lod: Arab girls attempt to drown Jewish girl in swimming pool

These past ~three days have been hell like yall know not only did we have the shooting at the synagogue in Pittsburgh but a white guy shot two black people at a grocery store which was plan B cause he couldn’t get into a black church. Plus we got the Magabomber and yeah....i’m way too tired to process this shit.

Today is the anniversary of the Tree of Life synagogue massacre in the Gregorian calendar. It happened in 2018, not that long ago, almost yesterday in Jewish time, but so many more horrific things have rocked our community since then, that it seems to have been overlooked. And it's devastating. It's devastating that in the six years since that day, hundreds more Jews have been killed for the sole reason that they were Jews, for the same ancient hatred that fueled Robert Bowers to open fire in a synagogue on Shabbat and kill eleven Jews. We can't let it be forgotten. It was forgotten by the rest of the world almost as soon as soon as it happened, but we can't let it be forgotten amongst us Jews. Our memory is what keeps us going.

Hamas has threatened that they're gonna start posting graphic videos of their torture/murder of their Jewish hostages in the next few hours on social media. These will be very graphic and very distressing, so please be very careful on sites like Instagram and TikTok when scrolling through recommended videos. Please do not share these videos and photos, it is part of the terroristic strategy. Also, because unfortunately there is no shortage of antisemites on Tumblr, please be careful when sent a video or photo on anon or from a user you don't recognize. These are intended to induce horror, don't help Hamas spread their message.

Every time I see a photo of Ariel with a Batman T-shirt or Batman drawing I keep thinking of my baby brother Chaim, who is the same age now as Ariel was when he was murdered. Chaim also loves Batman. He calls most superheroes "Bah-man!" He loves superheroes just like Ariel did. Chaim just celebrated his 4th birthday, my mom made him a Spiderman cake. Ariel was still a baby. He had the same interests so many four year olds do. He was just an average four year old, until he wasn't.
