The large, velvety leaves of Persicaria virginiana 'Brushstrokes' (jumpseed, Virginia knotweed) each one appears to be brushed with a central 'v' of deep red. Though grown for the foliage this herbaceous perennial also has tiny red blooms late into November. This cultivar is more compact than others.
