Rain poured down on the TARDIS as it healed, soaking up precious energy from the rift. An impressive machine though she was, the Doctor’s old girl needed some tender loving care after towing the Earth back to its proper place in the universe. So he fought the urge to dash into the console room and point her in the opposite direction of their current location and drive her until she could go no further. He felt her hum appreciatively, her gentle caress on his mind like a rocking cradle, pacifying him until his head met the cool pillow again and he lay staring up at the ceiling.

The Doctor wasn’t usually one for laying in bed. Either sleep would come to him or it wouldn’t and he had never been the type to be still and wait for it patiently. But he had much to think about on this night and sleep wasn’t something he would have wanted even if his veins weren’t still burning with adrenaline.

His thoughts kept circling back to hours before, when a single one hundred and eighty degree turn had changed everything for him. His constantly wandering and calculating mind had gone blank, with the exception of one thought that had pounded through his synapses and urged his legs to run.

Rose.

In the seconds that he had to carry himself down the street, he had suddenly remembered every detail about her that had begun to fade from him during the years of their separation. He remembered how each of their reunions had gone in the past; how she felt when she wrapped her arms around his neck as her body slammed against his. The way he would lift her, spin her, pull her closer, breath her in, and the way she would smile at him when he would finally stand back just enough to look into her eyes. Those hazel eyes that he had once known so well. He remembered how they had looked with her whiskey irises lost in the blackness of her dilated pupils as he lavished her in the very bed he lay in now.

He rolled onto his side, amazed at how just a few short hours ago he had looked into his past with Rose and seen nothing but happiness. Now he lay awake, alone in his bed once more, remembering nothing but regret.

Why had she worked so hard to get back to him? There had been so many things he had kept from her, so many times he had pushed her away, so many words he had never worked up the courage to say.

He closed his eyes against the torrent of images of the things he had done or said that made him unworthy of her.

The tears she had barely kept from falling when he told her she would wither and die.  

A kiss against a fireplace from a beautiful young woman that would break the only remaining heart that meant anything to him.

The way she had kept her distance from him the day after the first time he had led her to his bed and then left her to wake up alone.

How he couldn’t even say the words that would profess his love for her to a dark and endless pit.

The mark he had left as he bit into her skin to keep from screaming those words, even as her walls spasmed around his length, driving him to his own completion.

An endless variety of ways to let her down and he had managed to do every one of them in the single year he had spent with her.

He turned onto his other side, facing towards the door to his en suite, watching as the steam began to leak out of the open doorway. Then he heard the faucet turning and the sound of running water being cut off.

Rose appeared in the open doorway minutes later, her honey blond hair hanging damp at her shoulders, even longer now that it was weighed down with moisture. Water dropped onto her skin, creating rivets that danced in mesmerizing patters down her glowing skin before soaking into the towel that hid the rest of her body from him.

"What took you so long?" he asked and it sounded slightly sharper than he had intended it to.

Rose looked taken aback but then leaned into her hip and gave him a coy grin. “Rubbish human biology, remember? It’s hard to keep properly clean when you’re saving the multiverse.”

He sat up and patted the empty space on the bed between them where the sheets where still wrinkled from their passionate reunion.

"Come here."

She obliged and smiled, her expression warming in response the softer tone he had taken.

"You’re still here," she observed as she sat next to him, her long legs stretching out before crossing at the ankles.

"Where else would I be?"

He brought his arm around her shoulders, gently coaxing her towards him until his bare chest was in contact with her dripping tresses, flushed skin, and concealing towel.

"One of your usual places. I’m sure there’s tinkering to be done somewhere," she joked but then her teasing tone turned somber, "You never used to stay afterwards."

The Doctor was on her then, brazenly naked, with his knees on either side of her thighs as his hands slowly skated their way up her bare legs until they disappeared beneath the fabric of her towel.

"It’s not going to be that way this time," he said, one hand gripping her hip as the other teased and tickled its way towards her center.

"Give it a month," she dared when his fingertips just brushed her curls.

"A thousand years, Rose," he said before sliding a finger through her folds, receiving a gasp of pleasure from her as he spread her moisture up and around her sensitive nub. "Give it a thousand years and then we’ll see."

it's been weird for me too. sometimes when i try posting to tenrose-s, it will post to this blog as well. kinda frustrating tbh. *shrugs* but that's tumblr for you.

I did notice that too, I wondered what happened, if you just really liked that post or something, since it didn't fit with your marvel blog (I think it was a DW post).

Yeah, tumblr, over the last week or so, has been on the fritz and I wonder if they are doing micro updates or trying to make the site "better" and live testing things as they work, 'cause they don't exactly work. 

I am, and I am sorry to say, getting a bit tired of it. I hope they'll fix everything soon and that we can go back to smooth blogging soon.
