The Fall Guy yayaya

The Fall Guy? More like Fall and crash those tits to my face big guy- WOAH WHO SAID THAT??

Another banger movie featuring my beloved thousand-yard stare professional and giggleshitter, Ryan Gosling. 10/10. And it's not just because it's a RyGos film (well obviously that's a big part of the reason) but because I've always admired the people behind-the-scenes of films.

If I like a film best BELIEVE I'll be staying till the credits roll end. I'll be looking up the directors, screenplay writers, producers, audio crew, VFX, lights crew, practical effects crew, the costume department, etc.- basically everyone bts. I love the actors and performers of course, but the unsung heroes, I wanna know more about them. I wanna see them, learn about them and their profession, how they do what they do.

I mean it's the least I could do for the people who hauled their asses off to deliver me entertainment right? Exactly why I loved The Fall Guy.

It's a sneaky peek to the world of the stuntmen who are literally putting their lives on the line into the name of making art. Art in which they'd almost rarely get the chance to be thanked for. Bones broken, skin bruised, blood and tears and sweat, literally. A love letter (albeit over exaggerated for theatrics' sake) for all of the crew behind the gears that made what we see and enjoy possible.

I was so in awe when it cutted to the credits and it's a split screen of the stunt doubles doing their parts. It's mind-blowing and my heart races seeing the people behind the screen hold their breaths will they do these crazy stunts and the stuntmen will just give a simple gesture, a thumbs up like it's nothing. It's scary and so fucking impressive. They deserve their nominations and wins at the Taurus Awards!!

I hope more people see this movie and be enlightened about the courages work these people do as a living. I hope more people check out the behind-the-scenes of films, regardless of genre, it's incredible to see them piece all these bits and parts together to make art :'))

Can I also say that this fandom is very surprisingly (and wonderfully) an example of book and movie versions happily co-existing together

(I mean it's almost as if the heart of the book is about two completely different species living and working together, and fundamentally not having to change anything about themselves, but loving and respecting what the other person is and has to offer. Something like that)

The Eridian goodbye is not only the motion up and down the arm, it's the sound as well. So when Grace tries to mimic Rocky's goodbye, he can't make that sound, so he never fully "said" goodbye.

((((of course he uses it to say goodbye to stratt (and the planet) in his video too, which is where the significance might fall apart but hey, maybe he's not wishing earth goodbye either. "I'll see you again, even if it's across the stars. Good luck.")))

I can't remember the last time I watched a movie that made me actually feel so much lighter and happier at the end. I walked out of that theater each time with so much joy.

the puppetry in phm is just so fucking good dude. think abt how much improv there was. the dancing/mimicking scene when rocky and grace first met? that was improvised. that means that 5 people were so in sync with each other on this puppet that they were able to mimic ryan gosling in real time with no plan. bro.
