Take a Gander at the Mind of a Visual Thinker

Poetry Illustrated; Take a Gander at the Mind of a Visual Thinker is my personal blog project that showcases personal and cultural artistic expression in the form of original poems and their illustrated visual versions and aims to portray how I, a visual thinker, processes, interprets and communicates ideas and thoughts. 

Through this project, I aimed to learn how to translate one art form (original poetry) into another (visual representation of poems) in a way that it is tangible, aesthetically pleasing and easy for foreign, non-visual thinkers to understand.

Sketch como herramienta de pensamiento visual Uno de los medios más importantes a la hora de comunicar alguna idea, es a través de los gráficos o dibujos comúnmente llamados Sketch; inicialmente vale la pena preguntarse porque el ser humano representa algo gráficamente, la respuesta se ha definido a través de muchos estudios, algunas conclusiones afirman que su intención puede ser por el deseo de comunicar, como una expresión artística, para contar historias o para enseñar entre otras, es así como se menciona que nosotros recibimos a diario mucha información y de esta el 60% es procesada visualmente. Sketches se producen en muchos ámbitos de comunicación. Son una especie de representación exterior creativa que sirve como una herramienta cognitiva para aumentar memoria y procesamiento de la información mediante el alivio de la mente de algunas de esas cargas. La vinculación que tiene el sketch con el design thinking es muy fuerte, en el sentido en el que ayuda a expresar y a tener una aproximación hacia la resolución de problemas de una manera diferente, todos los seres humanos somos unos “visual thinkers”, es decir reaccionamos ante expresiones gráficas.
