I don't want to argue about the canonicity of the ships, but it annoys me how many opponents of vanoe use an extra, where Noe asks Dante if he can be considered Vanitas' onii-chan, as confirmation that Noe and Vanitas have a purely brotherly relationship, and Vanitas Noe as brother.
When like even if you are not versed in Japanese culture, but only consume anime on a regular basis (and especially if you are versed in Japanese culture), it should be absolutely clear to you that if someone asks to call himself an older brother or sister, he does not implies that the younger is really like a brother / sister to him, this is only an affectionate address (perhaps a little implies patronage), not always even implying close friendship (and in anime and manga it is still often fan service).
Even in one of the translations of Mikhail's address to Domi there is a "sister", but Domi is clearly not "like a sister" for Mikhail...
Some people wrote that, although such an appeal can be interpreted in different ways, the author clearly meant brotherly relations, but sorry, probably no one drinks tea with the author ..
I personally interpret this scene as: Noe asks Dante if their relationship is like a brotherly relationship, describes why he thinks so, to which Dante calls Noe hubby, that is, jokingly, that the relationship is more like a married couple (if that is still doesn't mean ship is canon 100%, but it еxists.

You wanna know what I absolutely love about this line?
So, we know wishes are dangerous things for vampires to have in the world of vnc, due to the certain creature that professes to grant them, and what that creature steals in order to get them:
Naenia, while she/they pretend to be sympathetic, of course doesn’t actually care about the person’s struggles, emotions, and wishes, she just wants to steal their names and will do anything to get them. Though I think often the vampires she comes to are desperate enough for that sympathy they see it as real or else don’t care and will do anything to have their wishes granted.
We have an inclination that Jeanne may, in fact, have made this sort of wish at some point in her life:
And Vanitas himself also has inclination, but, as he himself said, not confirmation, of this same fact with regards to Jeanne.
Returning to the first two screenshots, on the surface it may just seem like Vanitas is being romantic, but, (especially since that’s not yet where he’s really in love with her), I see a much deeper meaning to the line.
Whether or not he directly means to, to me it sounds like he’s telling her,
“hey, I actually care about you, your struggles, your emotions, your wishes, and I want to grant them, not to get something out of it, but because I love you.
So if you have a wish, bring it to me. Don’t think just because the wish is ugly or a curse you have to ask someone, something, else to grant it.
I’m the only one who can make your wishes come true. So bring them to me. Not her.”
I know Vanitas of course has his own issues from the past with regards to helping people, so maybe the line isn’t nearly as nice as it seems.
At the same time, at this point he isn’t sure that she’s a curse bearer, so in addition to it being cool symbolically even if he doesn’t purposely mean it that way, it could be really powerful if saying this is part of his way of trying to make sure she does not become a curse bearer in the future. Or perhaps if she is a curse bearer, that she’ll be more willing to tell him and be treated by him in the future.
It’s just a really lovely scene in general, I wasn’t sure about their relationship at first, but I’m growing to really love it, and I’m excited to see where things go from here.

Hey, do you guys want to do some sort of countdown event for the VNC anime over here?
I know it's a little late to be asking that XD But I realized we could do something fun! (Though it'll likely have to be pretty casual since I gave myself no prep time)
If so, what kind of event would you like? A prompt event like Phmonth? Just a general "draw or write something for VNC every day till the anime releases and I'll reblog it"? We celebrate a new character each day--(the daily prompts could just be a character? Which characters would you want to be picked?)? I dunno...some sort of ask game/event? Like where we send each other vnc asks and/or prompts?
Also, should we do something about the time zone differences? That doesn’t really matter for phmonth, but it might for a countdown XD (I live in America so my time is quite off from Japan’s time)

I can come up with the prompts myself but I thought I’d give folks a chance to weigh in on what prompts you’d like, if anyone wants to!!
Questions:
Would you guys like to have separate lists for ph and vnc, or one for both?
I think a number of new people have probably joined the vnc fandom since the anime began, who aren’t familiar with ph, and who might better see the list, and be more inclined to participate, if they’re separate. So for that reason I’m inclined to do two. But I’ve always kind of made events that combine both series in the past here, and I don’t know if the majority of people would prefer to have just one list, and pick if they want to use the prompt for ph or vnc.
Would you guys like to have weekly prompts in addition to the daily prompts?
Personally I prefer daily prompts, so I’ll probably do that either way. But some inktober lists have weekly prompts and, if you want, it could potentially be fun to have some different weekly prompts? Like the weekly prompts could be things like “Costume Party” or “Vampire AU” whereas the daily prompts would be like “Moon” or “Pumpkin.” I dunno, just a thought.
