Standard Array - Final Cut
More vocals, two more drum loops, and a bit more tweaking. I also decided to loosen up on the compression a bit, it ended up a little too uniform. The quiet parts were too loud, the loud parts were getting muddy because I kept forcing them to be at a similar volume to the quiet parts.
I think I’m happy with it. Not too bad for something I was going to throw out halfway through working on the first draft.
*edit* Tumblr weirdness strikes again... combined with the fact that I put things up in a queue a few days ahead of time.
For some reason every now and then, it refuses to let you properly edit music posts. Those who have followed me for a while have seen that. Several tiomes I accidentally uploaded the wrong track, and tried to change it. And it refused to update. I ended up having to make another post every time. That’s what happened here. My previous post was originally a bandcamp link to the tentative final, but when I realized it wasn’t finalized, I decided to actually upload the tentative final as an mp3 on tumblr and continue working on the final before releasing it today on Bandcamp. But I made the mistake of editing the previous post and replacing the bandcamp link with an upload instead of deleting the post and making a new one... And of course, when it actually posted, it was still the bandcamp link.
So... yeah. This is the same link as the previous one. Just now the song is officially available for purchase now. When I get home today I’ll pull out my laptop and post the tentative final so you can hear what changed between the rough draft, tentative final, and final. I know some people like to hear the process as it goes along. :)
