Iiaat to have your voice change? Not like puberty, but go to a low pitch to a higher pitch depending on who you talk to? And have no control over it? Like, I'm at work and for most people I have a high pitch 'cutsie' voice, but at home and with family my voice drops a lot lower...

Autistic people often have difficulty with vocal modulation. We can struggle with controlling the pitch and/or volume of our voices as well as intonation. 

While most people change their voice to fit context (i.e. almost anyone who has worked customer service knows of “customer service voice” which is the voice most people adopt when dealing with customers which is generally lighter and high pitched), however, autistic people may experience more extreme vocal shifts due to our difficulties with vocal modulation. 

Our attempts at social blending (changing our voices to fit situations) often do not turn out as we intend and we may have a more “cutesy” voice when trying to do a lighthearted voice as we struggle to control our pitch and cadence.

I have some trouble with vocal tone, in that when I get overload while I'm tired (and they tend to go together) I start sounding incredibly annoyed. I'm usually not as annoyed as I sound but I'm having difficulty controlling it and I'm not sure how to explain/if my friends would understand. How could I explain it and do you have any tips to control my tone better?

I struggle with the same things and I don’t really have any tips for controlling tone better as most of my attempts have been futile. However, I have managed to explain things to those close to me. 

I would suggest saying something like “I tend to have a hard time controlling my tone of voice, particularly when I’m tired or stressed. At these times, I may sound like I’m annoyed or angry, even though that isn’t an accurate reflection of my emotional state. If I start seeming angry/annoyed, you can ask me how I’m doing. I just ask that you trust my words rather than my voice, as I will tell you the truth but my tone of voice likes to lie.”

I can pick up on other people's tone of voice/body language/etc. reasonably well but quite often struggle to effectively communicate with it myself - e.g. the facial expressions I pull are often either overexaggerated or not quite right (e.g. grimacing instead of fake-smiling) and I've been told I sometimes sound 'expressionless' or disinterested when I talk. Could this be an autistic symptom?

Yep! Autistic people often have overexaggerated or “inappropriate” facial expressions. We also tend to have difficulties modulating tone of voice and may have flat affect which means seeming expressionless. This would all fall under “Deficits in nonverbal communicative behaviors used for social interaction;”

So, yes, this is an autism thing.

Hello, I'm not sure if I sent this in or not, but iiaat to have multiple voices when speaking? Like I'll switch between a high pitch almost cartoony voice, and a lower more normal pitch... sometimes it switches to high when I'm in public, and low with people I know, sometimes it switches randomly.

Difficulties with vocal control are an aspect of autism which can include difficulties controlling vocal pitch. 

It’s fairly typical for people to use a different vocal tone/pitch in different situations, but autistic people often have difficulty controlling these switches and may experience more extreme switches.
