At the urging of various friends who wanted to keep in contact with him a little better, Shadow had been urged to pick up a computer. Luckily he had been directed towards a good place to buy them, and had gotten one that was fairly top-of-the-line at a relatively cheap price, and had also been recommended a few things to get for it. Most of them were given to him via discs from the person he got them from, but he had been told that one of them he would have to download himself, due to how the program worked. They didn’t tell him too much other than that.

So, after Shadow had managed to follow instructions and get the computer set up and connected to the internet, he went and found the program he had been told to get, which was called ‘MIKU_V1_BETA.exe’. It looked a little shady, but the guy he had bought it from hadn’t led him wrong thus far, so he clicked download, before getting up, needing to stretch his legs a little and get a drink. So he left the computer running, downloading the program, as he headed towards his kitchen to get himself a drink. He figured he would be back well before it was done, but his apparently underestimated his computer, since it managed to download the program fairly quickly.

  “Excuse me, have y’ seen a metal cat anywhere?”

  The young boy was clearly in distress, worried for his latest INVENTION. She was designed to act independent, but he couldn’t help but get worried about her!

  “She didn’t come home last night, and I’m worried...”

Lost in the City

Stepping out of a dark alley, Lewis sighs. He can’t remember how long it’s been since he slept, but obviously it’s been longer than a few weeks. That is easy enough to deduce from the fact that it seems he’s landed himself somewhere strange.

And really, this place is rather strange. So far he’s caught sight of bright neon lit buildings, giant Hologram ads played in the sky for all to see, and few people that felt… off to him. They looked human, sounded human too, but the way they’d held themselves just seemed different

“Just where the heck am I now?”

Now sighing once again, Lewis scrubs at his face. His hood is still up, eye patch in place, but there are bags under his eyes and he is starting to remind his own self of a raccoon. At this point, it might be best just to ask someone where he is and have them direct him to some place he can stay.

And the next time someone turns the corner, walking in to his line of sight, he pulls the hood closer and does just that

“E-excuse me? Pardon me, but do you have a moment?”

A Strange Machine

Momiji grumbled, as she glared at this... this thing in her lap. It was called a laptop. Nitori had told her that much. Unfortunately, the Kappa had not told Momiji how literally anything else worked.

Momiji loved her friend, but the Kappa’s habit of stealing human technology and gifting it to her was a little annoying. “Now, what’s this?” she asked, spotting a strange icon on the main screen. It read ‘MikuV1.02.exe’.

So, of course, what happened next was simple. She double clicked on the icon, and waited.

‘‘Wait a damn minute!’‘ The boy exclaimed, suddenly pointing out the teal hair vocaloid. ‘‘I know you! You are--’‘ Killua pulled a blank, her name not registering in his mind at all. ‘‘....---Who are you?’‘

     He couldn’t help but laugh at the blunt statement. Honestly, for a collection of wires and machinery, Miku was growing more and more observant by the day. A swell of pride rose in his chest and he wondered for a moment if this was what it felt like to be a father. Then he laughed it off, because what a ridiculous notion. Tugging the goggles off from his face and letting them fall around his neck, the exhausted programmer shrugged.      “You aren’t wrong! That’s pretty good, Miku. Who told you that?” He rubbed his brow, glancing again at the screen to his left. Numbers looked good, the new code was downloading just fine. She should be up to date in no time.
