I love trying to compile something manually and always getting an error that takes forever to debug.

bored so ive been spending the whole day installing void linux on an old hp netbook! currently trying to set up the desktop environment for it... probably gonna go with xfce
Void what happened to the nonfree repo? Why is the connection failing? how did I fuck up? please talk to me I want to update my silly little things
God why is it so hard to keep the government out of your tech. System-d is introducing age verification, making a ton of Linux distros comply with authoritarian age verification laws.
But I hear you say, @fangsroyale that’s just to save the children yadayada.
No it is not, no government introducing these kind of draconian laws is caring about kids or many more pdf’s in the Epstein files would have been arrested.
While it seems harmless at first, this is just the first step to a future where even with Linux you’re gonna need to verify with your id card before using your computer. Linking everything you do or search to you, making you a honeypot target for hackers and meaning the end of anonymity or privacy.
I had just gotten used to using Fedora KDE, now im going to have to switch to a project that does have a spine. Thinking of using void Linux or Devuan.
You shouldn’t have to be a tech expert to have basic human privacy but it appears I have to.
My first config for @kali-official's layfetch! I had a lot of fun fiddling around with it. My setup is very similar to the default config at the moment, but I expect that to change as I get more comfortable with the json format.
For posterity, my dotfiles are in this repo. The biggest changes are the new logo (i <3< void), flag palette splitting (extensible to however many flags), and message of the day randomizing based on an included file. I also remade the estrogen day counter, which is strangely absent from the default layout.json.
I really like this tool! The tiling just looks so nice. I can't believe nobody'd done this before. I'll probably mess around with this a little more in the near future; I want to try making my own layout fully from scratch.
after so long of being on artix and using hyprland i have made the switch to void... and i am now using niri! definitely different but i kinda appreciate it! once i get used to it and perfect my config file i think itll be a lot better
Yall FUCKERS which distro should i use
Arch (defaulting to this)
Debian (installer has problems for some reason)
EndeavourOS
Void Linux
Dont Fucking Choose This Option
Keep in mind its a laptop with a NVIDIA quadro 1200m with a i7 7th gen it has a 256g NVMe
is it normal that flatpak software just doesn't work on void linux or did i fuck something up?
