Untouchable - Chapter 6
Lucanis x Rook x Spite
-
“No! No more. Promises.” He tilted his head as though considering her and smirked as, with a brilliant burst of purple light, his wings unfurled behind him. For the first time, Kash felt a genuine pang of fright. “I like. Deals !”
She could feel herself trembling as Spite half moved onto the bed, almost kneeling over her as he kept her trapped, his arms either side of her and his wings folding around them like a cocoon. Somehow the motion seemed threatening and seductive at the same time, and a strange thrill ran through her. The knife in her hand felt woefully inadequate, and she sucked in a slow breath and nodded.
“Okay,” her voice shook the tiniest amount, and the demon frowned, apparently not liking that she was scared of him. “You give me back Lucanis and I promise you we'll talk again-”
“Not enough!” Spite muttered and lowered himself closer, not touching, but so close that his energy made her skin tingle with awareness. Her breath caught as the demon stared at her - Lucanis’ face framed against demonic wings - and brushed his thumb across her lower lip, the touch deceptively gentle and far too intimate. “A kiss,” he told her. “Want to kiss Rook.”

❛ i could keep you safe. they’re all afraid of me. ❜
For one of your Rook x Lucanis pairings! Pretty please!!!
You got it, bestie! Thanks for the prompt (from this list), and so sorry this took so long 🙈
Here's some fluffy Rookanis banter before a big mission. aka Lucanis tries to be playful so Julianna can calm herself before facing an entire gathering of Venatori:
The rags Strife had provided for them smelled dreadful, like rotting meat that had sat out in the sun for days on end. They had done their best to cover the bloodstains found on the fabric, and had to hope it would be enough. At least Neve looked presentable in her magister’s robes, though that didn’t stop her face from contorting in such a way that showed her discomfort. These were not the best disguises. Strife and the Veil Jumpers had obviously stripped them from some fallen Venatori, and it was the best they could do given their time constraints. Their priority was saving the Dalish before the Gods could sacrifice them. Julianna adjusted the rough fabric of her shirt and looked around at her companions as they all prepared for the mission. She couldn’t seem to help herself as her gaze was drawn to Lucanis. He stood near the edge of the ridge, set away from the others and all alone. From this distance, she could see his fingers as he fidgeted with the frayed hem of his sleeve. His gaze was focused on the valley below, where the Venatori were gathered below them. He seemed anxious, but also eerily calm. Her feet were moving in his direction before she could stop them, drawn to him as if he had a magnetic pull. “Are we really about to try to walk through this camp full of Venatori?” she asked him as she came to stand beside him. He slowly turned his gaze to her and smiled softly. All signs of nervousness left his face as he looked at her. “Rook, are you worried?” he asked teasingly. Julianna felt her cheeks warm and gently shoved her hand against his shoulder in a playful gesture. “Oh, what’s there to worry about, Lucanis? We’re only attempting to infiltrate a camp full of Venatori, who just so happen to want us all dead.” “Not to mention, the entire clan of Dalish that are relying on our success here,” he reminded her somberly. She felt her heart race at the thought, as it normally did before a big mission. Lucanis chuckled lightly, though the seriousness of the situation didn’t elude him. He stepped closer to Julianna, intertwining his fingers with hers. The gesture was comforting and grounded her. “I could keep you safe, you know. They’re all incredibly afraid of me.” She finally cracked a smile, feeling a portion of the weight lifting from her shoulders as they stood together, the quiet rustling of their companions continuing in the background. “They’re afraid of the Demon of Vyrantium, you mean,” she countered smartly. “Ouch, that hurts,” he replied in mock distress. “Here I am trying to comfort you, and you insult me?” He shook his head slowly. “You’re right, Lucanis, I’m so sorry,” she apologized with an impish grin. “How could I ever make it up to you?” He tugged against her hand, still clasped in his, until she stepped closer to him, his free hand landing against her hip and pulling her close. He looked into her violet-hazel eyes as his demeanor shifted suddenly. All of the playfulness left him, replaced with the solemnity befitting the situation they faced. Julianna was taken aback by the sudden shift and looked at him with concern, but he drew nearer still until he could press his lips against hers. His hand moved up to cradle against her cheek affectionately as he let the moment linger. Kissing her again and again, until they were both breathless. He pulled away, letting their foreheads rest together in this quiet reprieve before the mission was set to begin. “I think that will suffice, Rook.”
Helloooo!! For the prompts, could I ask for sparring turned sexy with a dash of I've been meaning to ask you something ?
Ty for your patience! Been chipping away at this and it just kept getting longer, enjoy! Prompt from Vorchagirl's Veilguard Prompts (please send me more these are great) This is pre-relationship rookanis :>
------------------
Rook shook out their hands, bouncing from foot to foot, “Ready?” Lucanis stood still as a statue, arms by his side, “Yes.”
They feigned right, ducking back left to dodge his immediate response. Hopping around his left side, they moved to strike but he was faster. Lucanis stepped gracefully and purposefully out of reach, then back as Rook retracted their fist.
Their brow furrowed as Lucanis remained stoic.
Spinning, they whirled a kick at him and he bent back to let it fly through the air. Using the momentum of the kick they quickly switched legs, spinning to kick again with the other.
Lucanis stepped to the right and then past them.
His every foot placement was firm, purposeful as a dancer, while Rook felt like a rabbit hopping around him.
“Why aren’t you hitting me” Rook demanded. “Why aren’t you?” they could almost sense a smirk in his words, knowing the quip was meant to bait them.
Rook’s hopping brought them backwards another foot, further from him. Lucanis circled them slowly, clearly waiting for them to try another attack. His stare was hard, cataloging their movement.
Their gray eyes flicked between his face and wherever they intended to hit next, every time.
Rook never stopped moving, always bouncing while stationary, trying to calculate their next step.
Sweat was beginning to trap the hair of their sideburns, where their long ears curved into the edge of their jawline. Rook spun to strike again, but Lucanis' eyes had not been watching theirs. It was too late to dodge, so he quickly caught their fist and tried to swing their arm backwards and into a hold. Rook kept moving however, slipping below his grasp and landing a playful chop to the back of his neck. “Dead. Your turn!” Rook huffed a smile, bouncing away out of reach again.
Lucanis sighed.
Distracted…
Shut up… He shook his head to silence Spite. His eyes analyzed Rook again. Their gaze darted between his face and hands now, preparing to defend.
Rook’s technique was sloppy but effective. Years of lost back alley fights had made their mark in every step they took.
It should be simple to neutralize them, if he weren’t getting so distracted.
His eyes caught on a bead of sweat rolling down their neck and disappearing into the collar of their shirt. Following what would’ve been its path had it not been interrupted by the linen garment, his gaze traveled down their chest to the waistband of their pants, drawn up high and cinched with a simple cord at their navel.
Solar plexus, but they’ll see it coming, so turn and kidney strike. With that plan in mind, he moved. He stepped quickly into Rook’s personal space, keeping low like he was trying to strike their stomach. As predicted, they swung both hands down to deflect him, and he spun past them. He swung his arm around their middle, pulling them backwards where their lower back met his hand – where a knife would’ve been in a real fight.
Rook froze in place, clearly startled by the quick maneuver. His arm around their middle felt as firm as a statue’s, locking them to his chest. “Dead,” He murmured softly. Rook felt his breath hit the shell of their pointed ear and shivered.
He released his grasp slowly, fingertips tracing the band of Rook’s pants before stepping back from them. Neither spoke as Rook stepped away, turning to face him again. Their eyes met for a second but Lucanis quickly looked away. That was too close, he chided himself, too intimate.
When his eyes returned to Rook he was stunned to see their shirt making its way over their face as they doffed it. They quickly wiped their face and neck with the discarded garment before tossing it aside, shaking out their hair. Their skin was tanned from days in the sun. A pale scar swirled down their right side, clearly magical in origin from Lucanis’ estimation. Clearly old and painful, to have scarred so badly meant they’d gone without healing magics as well. Defiance, punishment, but a badge of honor later. Spite murmured, as though reading the history of the scar off a page. Lucanis knew all too well that Rook had come from Tevinter. Rook blushed and huffed, “Yes, I used to have breasts, its complicated.” “What-? I-?” Lucanis flushed red, he hadn’t been caught staring at someone like this since he was a child, “That’s not what I…” “Oh? Oh, yes the other scars,” Rook chuckled, “Usually people are too polite to stare at those, but can’t take their eyes off my chest since its not what they expected.” Glancing back at Rook he could see the twin slash scars, edges much neater than the magic scar, at the curve of their pectoral muscles. “Forgive me, Rook, I…” his eyes met theirs, dark gray like a rolling storm. They stepped closer, “Yes, Lucanis?” “I've been meaning to ask you... ” his stomach wavered as Rook took another step towards him, now just an arms reach away.
He could smell them this close, the tang of sweat mixed with cedar.
“Hmm?” They leaned in closer, stormy eyes scanning his for a hint. Their faces were inches apart. Lucanis swallowed. His voice was low and soft, “What would you like for dinner tonight?”
Rook’s gaze softened, a small smile gracing their face, “I thought you’d never ask.”
How did you get into Blood Moon? And I'd love to know about your character/s. (I'm assuming you have more than one 😅)
Hi, Lena! 💖
Hmm... I think either one of the Interactive Fiction author I follow reblogged a post about Barb's update for Blood Moon or I found randomly a post about it. Honestly I don't remember, it was in 2021. :'D
I have only Selene. She's my one and only werewolf girl. 🫶
I'm so jealous of people who can make more than one MC for an IF. I can only make one for every game I play, or either reuse another I was obsessed with and that's it, haha. Like, for example, it's so damn hard to visualize Eva for Thicker Than and I still feel like something is not "okay" with her look. I drew so far 3 different version of her I think and while I love every version it's still feels like it's not my Eva... so yeah :'D
Meet Me Halfway
@vorchagirl also asked me about this so tagging her as well!
Meet Me Halfway is my long-fic for Vega/Ryder where they meet post-Mass Effect 3 and see if they can have a relationship after all the stuff that they've been through. Also it's about Ryder finally growing the fuck up and letting go of the BS that she let run her life for so long. There's also a sub-plot about Diana Allers trying to figure out who James is dating since that would be amazing ratings for her news show.
Here's a snippet:
Diana Allers needed another big news story.
Since the war had ended, and her access to the Normandy and its crew, BattleSpace ratings had steadily declined and she needed something else to bring people back. “That and no one really wants to hear about rebuilding efforts again. Everyone wants to move on.” she thought while idly going over the footage from the medal ceremony. “But I should get a decent bump with Vega making N7. Him and Alenko always drew numbers, which is why I featured them so much.”
Bored, but wanting to finish scrubbing through the footage, she fast forwarded to when she was talking to Vega, Allers stopped at the part where she was asking about his personal life.
“Since you’ve been back on Earth, is there anyone special in your life?”
Allers made a face at her fake tone, she hadn’t even wanted to ask the question but her producers made her- saying that speculation on his personal life always tracked well. There had been rumors on the Normandy during the war that he’d been involved with someone, but she could never get anything solid to ask Vega about. She was about to fast forward again when she paused, looking at how uneasy Vega looked.
“-haven’t had much time for personal relationships while focusing on N-school.” James vaguely answered, shifting slightly as he continued, “But there are a few people outside of the Normandy crew that I’ve kept in touch with and hopefully, I’ll be able to see them more now that I’ve graduated.”
Just wanted to drop by and share some love! Your work always makes me smile and cheers me up. Thanks for everything you do in the ME fandom ^_^
Thank you Lena, hope you are doing well! Thanks for being here too ^^
