Audrey is still mixed up with Orrin Scrivello. It's not that she likes him, it's simply that he's terrified he'll kill her if she doesn't comply. She constantly has to deal with power-trips from Orrin which can involve things that scare her half to death, and physical injuries because Orrin gets an adrenaline rush with every scream that escapes her lips. So she's been tied up, prodded, and made to feel like nothing, possibly even made to feel like food, and every time he lets her go she fears it'll be the last.
She keeps everything hidden from Seymour. Every burn mark and scrape, and sometimes, when it's really bad, he knows, because she'll scurry around and simply avoid him altogether until she finds a way to conceal one more bruise, or break, or tear in her skin and it kills him to know how badly she's hurting. The worst has been when she's come back to the shop when he's still half-asleep, lying in bed, and he's heard her muffled sobbing.
She'll curl up against his chest and try her best not to cry any harder in front of him, and Seymour feels his heart break because her little body is covered in slick slime and bite marks and he knows exactly the kind of shit Orrin's put her through, and he vows, then, that he'll never be that terrifying to her. Never ever.
Oh, how wrong he is...
