Vote for Those Who Can’t
When you vote, you’re not just voting for a candidate - you’re also voting on a child’s education, policing and public safety, affordable housing and rent, public transit and more 🚌
If you’re able to vote this Election Day, please do. Since 2008, many states have passed laws that make it harder for many —particularly Black people, the elderly, students, and people with disabilities—to exercise their fundamental right to cast a ballot. These attacks include enacting strict voter ID requirements, random voter roll purges, reducing the number of polling places and limiting the options for early and absentee voting.
In addition - many states also have laws that prevent people who are incarcerated, on parole and/or felons from voting, impacting approximately 5.85 million Americans. (source: @aclu_nationwide)
Your vote matters. 💓 Many election outcomes are razor-thin, and your ballot can decide who makes the laws that impact your life and your community.
