Edge and christian are back yippiee
Finally life is worth living again
He just looks perpetually unimpressed no matter where I tote him around in my purse
(Based on this post because it reminded me of him)
Everyone let's cultivate a little joy amongst ourselves today. Either send me an ask or reblog this post, with anything on your mind about your OCs, your OC-ified canon characters, anything at all about your creations that you've been excited about but might not have had the chance to yet. Here's some ideas you can share but don't limit yourself to them alone, you can answer one, none, all, and/or come up with your own
Favorite niche canon character/headcanon for them
A piece of personal worldbuilding to expand on an untapped canonical aspect
Obscure OC fact
Concept art that you're working on, can be as vague as you want
OC/story song(s) (bonus if it's one you stumbled on recently and had a lightbulb moment about)
Character dynamic you haven't talked about as much as you wanted to
Recent idea that you're unsure will stick
Ready set go, show me your brainworms, let's have some fun
I really like to headcanon that the reason a young Martin and his friends chose Sanguine as their patron is that the general perception of Sanguine to the common folk is similar to our own common painting of Sanguine as a mostly harmless, fun-loving prankster.
Like, Hermaeus Mora would seem like the choice most aligning with their objectives, judging from Martin's dialogue, but I like to think they weren't quite that foolish enough to ignore the risks in consorting with... at least the more dubiously-presented Princes.
Sanguine, meanwhile... he doesn't seem terrible on first impression. Even compared to the other "fun" Prince, Sheogorath, he would be less liable to flay you on a whim for his amusement. But I like to think Sanguine has made this amiable representation of himself as part of his lure. After all, the you feel fine for the first few drinks; your first experience tripping on skooma feels euphoric, transcendent. The party is all fun and games until you get carried away, you take a dose too much and tip over the edge into a downward spiral of dependence and excess beyond the body's natural limit.
Additionally, his dialogue implies they were likely still Arcane University students by the time they wading deeper into daedrology and Sanguine worship.
They were college kids.
I can't think of a better Prince that would appeal to frat boy lifestyle than Sanguine.
I pretended to do WIP-its at work once and my coworker yelled at me
First Wednesday I've been off work in a long time so I'm motivated to tag myself for WIP Wednesday 💪 Also I have a surprising amount I'd like to share
No pressure tagging: @dark-brotherhoe @unironicallytes @the-radic0le @ophanstears and honestly anyone who sees this! I've gained new Skyrim blorbos and would like to talk to new people who also enjoy the blorbos. I don't bite 🤗
I'm still working on the portrait pieces I showed my last WIP Wednesday and honestly, though I didn't want to show more until I finished them, I'm hitting a roadblock.
(Special thanks to @unironicallytes for providing me helpful tips on drawing khajiit faces!)
Currently I'm messing around with Marcurio's hair to make it more wavy + trying to figure out hairlines. Had a hangup earlier where his expression was just... not working. Hoping that making him look mid-snark with Ko'zajjat helps fix the asymmetry of his eyes. Beyond that, besides some shading I'm... not really sure what else I can add at my lesser skill level, yet still feel like something's missing?
With Ko'zajjat I'm just trying to get motivated for the lineart because I fear I'm going to ruin the rough sketch 🤷
Now for a medium I'm more confident in, I've been actively juggling between about... 5 various WIPs! This is something I also need some encouragement with, as while I'm super happy to be drowning in WIPs, my attention gets diverted often to the point I end up procrastinating instead of working on anything at all. I can't promise anything, but maybe an interest check might help me narrow focus for a bit.
The following excerpts are for fics centered around, respectively: Marcurio, Marcurio x OC, Erik the Slayer & Sissel, Martin Septim x Sanguine, and my OC fankid of Martin Septim x Sanguine
@the-radic0le Thank you for the ask! Here's a snippet of Wonderful, Ruthless Vices, the Martin Septim Sanguinite origin fic with a twist of a toxic affair with his Daedric Prince, a love like religion 🌹
You were never much of a drinker. Your father's example was to reserve it as a sleep or sick aid, or to toast the survival of another winter's day. To yourself, it's use was as a social courtesy. One ale to deflect wisecracks. To feel included. A book always accompanied you, even to social callings, and you would loathe for your concentration on them to waver too far.
Neither were you accustomed to large crowds. Your standard for a good time had been set to outings with your group of favorite people, their banter and dynamic providing well enough spirit.
And... sex? Hah. Any thoughts on that matter had remained just that - thoughts, confused and incomplete.
There was a method to you, an order by which you conducted yourself, despite how driven you were to reach past boundaries - or perhaps due in part to it. Your thirst was of knowledge, secrets, power.
Or so you believed. You never truly delved into the depths of yourself until Sanguine.
... Sanguine...
Lord of Revelry. Blood-Made-Pleasure. He Who Tastes the Shaven Fruit. A purveyor of human interest at its most unrestricted, and an amicable host to those willing to let go and live in full. His reported cordiality was what appealed to you all compared to other Princes. More liable to offer enlightenment with less risk - and where was the harm in some parties and pranks to supplement it? Yves was all but diving into the prospect, with Sevilon eager to follow.
You could feel something in the recesses of your mind shudder, exhilarated, like wings testing the bars of its cage with muscles atrophic from so long in its trappings. It would be let out to stretch, you promised, but it wouldn't fly out of your sight. You must keep your wits about you - partake only so far as to earn the Prince's favor.
This was easy enough within your lot's first task. Emptied more than one bottle, for a change, but not enough to forget how you roused the streets of Skingrad into spontaneous celebration. J'Khajad procured the refreshments, Illas-Tei and Yves provided entertainment, and Sevilon and Ingjard fortified efforts to persuade the masses, yet it became more apparent as the crowds gathered that it was you who commanded the helm. It felt as natural to you as a leader rallying his garrison. A gratification like never before - a longing when it was over.
Sanguine's lesson in revelry - the art of weaving a sprited, clamorous event.
I'll be honest, I've had the first chapter sitting finished for quite awhile now, but I promised myself I'd finish all 3 of the planned chapters before posting because I wanted to have at least one fic where readers get to enjoy it start to finish consistently across three weeks.
This is also my first ever fic I've written in Second Person. I love the voice I've created but it can be a challenge to use it consistently 😅
@dark-brotherhoe Thank you as well for the ask! I debated what kind of snippet I wanted to show for Temporary Bliss because it's either... saucy... or brief breaks for humor. Here's a mostly humorous exchange with a light drizzle of sauce, fair warning:
I'm legally, morally, and religiously obligated to bring this back into the fandom conscience. The OGs must remember and the new bloods must learn of this Classic.
