‘Watch your step,’ the gargoyle tells the Headmaster’s visitors before it lets them through. There are potted plants on every step of the stairs leading towards the office. All of them harmless, of course, but there are some over-eager vines who take their job as greeting committee a bit too seriously and have caused half a dozen bruised elbows as of yet.

The Headmaster’s office is cluttered. Gone are Dumbledore’s intricate and fine silver instruments and McGonagall’s tartan upholstery. More plants occupy every available surface, stacks of books on Herbology inbetween. A lop-sided tower of paperwork on the desk is propped up by a snoring giant Venus Flytrap. A pair of robes hang forgotten over the back of the chair behind the desk.
