Star Wars: Clone Wars (2003-2005)
SMASH OR PASS: Vulture Droid, Star Wars
Propaganda: This might be more of a robotfucker submission but ANYWAY! They're made for war, they can both fly and walk, they're super big, about 7 meters (22 feet) tall in walking mode. They're so sleek and scary but also cute. Terrifyingly beautiful if you ask me!
Vulture Droid (Robot)
Smash (and/or date/smooch/etc)
Pass (not my type)
Built by a Sith apprentice to hunt Jedi across the galaxy. Adaptive. Relentless. Capable of transforming from ground combatant to starfighter pursuit mode mid-battle.
It was deemed too dangerous even by the Separatists who commissioned it. Chained in a forgotten vault for centuries.
Until someone broke the seals.
From Force Engineer - where ancient weapons don't care about your good intentions.

idk if you're still doing doodle requests. if not you can ignore this ask, but...
could you draw a vulture droid?
(i am obsessed with vulture droids + you're so good at drawing droids that i wanna see you draw my beloveds)
Dont even worry!!! Im ALWAYS down to draw a droid <333
I have a lingering obsession with vulture droids and I have far too many thoughts about them. And I wanted to give y'all a tiny messy essay about specialized battle droids in general. I gotta spread my agenda y'know.
More humanoid droids such as B1s and BXs have a relatively easy time when it comes to doing things other than battle. They have hands, they can speak Galactic Basic, they don't have built-in weapons or the like. I could totally imagine a B1 working on a farm. But a lot of the other battle droids, such as droidekas (or my beloved vulture droids) aren't really able to do anything other than fight. They probably can't repair themselves, can't refill their munition or fuel by themselves… I find this a very interesting dynamic and prime oc material. What must it be like to be such a droid? You're a literal killing machine but you can't maintain yourself. You are simultaneously so powerful and so vulnerable.
I tend to hold that all droids are able to gain personality and sapience if they aren't memory wiped, so I spend a lot of time thinking about how that would be for one of these specialized battle droids. There's so many different routes you could go, here's some of my ideas about… battle droid body image? Can't believe I'm saying this, but anyway:
Mostly likes being what she is, but dislikes the fact that other people are terrified of her even when she's trying to be nice
Was left for dead by the seppies and had to survive alone, now his opinion about his body is underscored by the fact he can't live independently without doing so in squalor and misery, and the thought of what would happen if these new people also abandoned him
Wildly loves fighting, killing and being scary, is convinced no one would have the gall to try and hurt them
Was reactivated and sold on the black market after the Clone Wars, despises being what they are because it means they'll be enslaved, and they'll die if they escape because they can't live alone
If you think I'm encouraging you to also make nonhumanoid battle droid ocs… yes I am encouraging you. Dewit, in the words of Darth Sidious.
