With all the shitty messages you’ve been getting, I’d say turning off anon would help quite a lot.

I would, Waen, but I also really don’t care about these little hate messages! It’s actually kind of amusing. It says WAY more about the person who sends the hate than it does about the person that receives it. 

Like this GinHiji hater. What did they get out of saying that? They reduced an amazing character to “just a foil” and it kind of just goes to show how little the anon knows about those characters. If the anon loved Hijikata and cared about his character, he would never have been reduced to “just Gintoki’s foil.” Shipping aside, Hijikata is a strong, independent character that deserves every bit of recognition and respect. I really understand not liking a ship, but just having someone go out of their way to be hateful it’s like sitting down to eat popcorn to a terrible movie.

I relate hateful anons to bugs smashing into your windshield. They go splat and make a tiny smudge, but then can be washed right off and forgotten about. 

Plus, there are people who are just shy and need the anon option to say something and I don’t want to take that option away from them. It’s amusing for me when people get all nasty about shipping, anyway. Like... it’s not canon? It’s just for fun?? And then there are some people who see that and go, “You’re having fun, you like a ship I don’t like, you need some hate!” Makes me wonder what happened to them to make them so negative and nasty. Like, what crawled up your ass and died to make you feel the need to go out of your way just to be hateful? It’s nothing more than a passing curiosity though.

Rest assured, no hate actually gets to me. It all just kinda rolls right off with a shrug. People are entitled to their opinions and they’re allowed to pop into my inbox with it if they so choose!
