Weekly Art Challenge #213 (March 16th – March 24th) – Draw a classic piece of your liking in your own style!

First of all, we’re not trying to stain art history or mock any piece! Sometimes the great masters are also a great inspiration and their pieces keep a special spot in our hearts. (I love Klimt for example) and they deserve a tribute! Take those beautiful ballerinas by Edgar Degas -link- or Vincent Van Gogh’s starry night -link-  or maybe Klimt’s Judith? -link- For this challenge probably google images search is your ally if you don’t have a favorite. You could just look for “famous reinassance art” or just famous paintings! And if you actually have a fav, tell us why! :) [The deadline for this challenge will be March 24th at 10PM GMT/ 5PM EST] For more information about the group and its submissions, please read the FAQ! If you have a question you do not see mentioned there, please don’t hesitate to ask.Make sure to submit your piece using the ->submission<- page, and tag it for the appropriate challenge! If you love a big piece with background and people in it of course we encourage you to redraw it all and turn it your style completely, but if you love a piece like, let’s say “The birth of Venus” and you feel there’s too much, you could draw the central character or object of attention in that painting :), in this case Venus obviously, good luck!

January 4th – January 17th

Happy New Year to all of you! We hope you had relaxing holidays and are ready to get drawing again in 2017! What better way to kick off a new year than drawing yourself as the greatest goddamn hero you can imagine? Of course, if you are more partial to the Chaotic Evil side of RPG alignments, you can design a villain too, or antihero?. You may choose any genre you want – an action adventurer, or a space soldier, or a fantasy wizard – the world is your oyster! Try to think of a character that would work well in a video game, maybe think about some stats.

And of course, who could resist a cute sidekick supporting the dashing heroine (or the dashing villain)? Pirate captains have their parrot, Batman has Robin, Queen Elizabeth has her Corgis… When you design your character, also think about who is supporting them in battle. This sidekick should ideally compensate the weaknesses of your other character. The squishy wizard could befriend a mighty dragon. The action adventurer needs someone who will carefully steer them away from any abysses they might walk in. They may be an animal, or a robot, or a fairy. Just make sure that the two fit together! (Although a medieval knight with a robodog as companion could be very interesting, too…) [The deadline for this challenge will be January 17th at 10PM GMT/ 5PM EST]

hey!! so, a week more! art art art!

We’ve been asked if  the challenge could have an extra week. We thought it was best to go back to the one-week-system so you didn’t feel you were sitting there with just one artwork. But it seems you guys got used to the two-week way, so let’s use another week for this one and two weeks for the next one too, hope this helps! :) tell us your opinion. ? PS. so, new deadline would be december 25th aand, there would be no christmas themed challenge 0:

FINALLY I CAN POST THIS

This took a week to make, and the most trouble I had was  with the movement of the mane/hair

I am sorta sad I didn’t make it in time to submit it to the WAC challenge stuff, but ehhh i wanted to focus more on the animation and space stuff then anything else here, I need to push my style more and such, and  any tips or advice would be great!

Robotic dogs are usually easier to deal with. Except when they want to walk. You can’t just go to the city park and let them run around untill they’re tired. No. Their walks must be on space. And since Riley begged her parents to buy Sausage, this is her responsability.

Mirror Maru, a.k.a., Anywhere But Here

I’ve been really depressed and while it didn’t make me feel any better, I decided to pick a common part of my routine a year or so ago that was always the most refreshing, calming part of my night. 

I drew this for the weekly art challenge, ‘Convey the Emotion Calm’! Not super detailed but the act of working on it was soothing.
