ITS FINALLY DONE, HERE IS MY DESIGN FOR THE 2ND PRIMARCH!!!
Naran Marin, 2nd Legion The Monocerotes
Origin: As an infant his gestation pod landed on the planet of Tlalli, a desert planet orbiting a binary sun system. This planet used to having a thriving biosphere before it was ruined by war and mining during the age of strife. What was left of its inhabitants struggled for survival in an environment bled dry of any natural resource.
When he crash landed in the middle of the night and was discovered by the local tribe it was said that his first cries brought about the miraculous rain. In truth his gestation pod unearthed a massive reservoir of water beneath the ruined dirt. To commemorate such a blessing the locals named him after this miracle, Naran for the lunar eclipse of his arrival, and Marin for the water he brought them. This, as it turned out, would be the first in a long line of feats of extreme luck that became commonplace with Naran around.
Abilities: Extremely strong and fast as most primarchs are Naran actually lacks something they all have; Sight. Despite this Naran is able to navigate his surroundings with infinite ease thanks to his psyker abilities, utilizing methods not totally unlike those of the imperial astropaths. Although not nearly as strong as someone like Magnus, some brothers would later note that with Naran’s luck it often seemed that the obstacles in his path simply jump to avoid him.
This ability is shared to a degree by his legion, The Monocerotes, whose geneseed mutations result in the titular horn and tail (and varying degrees of blindness) that denote their members. Almost preternaturally lucky, it became common practice to have squadrons of the 2nd legion accompany other legions to assist in a faster victory.
The ability which would lead to his eventual capture by Tzeentch is one that even Naran wasn’t aware he possessed: The ability to manipulate the strings of fate. Tzeentch coveted this power as it would mean that all his machinations could be kept in perfect perpetual motion and so he tricked Naran into giving up his freedom as the only way to save his family. Kept trapped in a section of the warp furthest from the influence of any chaos gods Naran now manipulates the strings of fate to an unnatural stasis of war for his people, his eternal company only a single one of his sons.
The emperor struck him from memory for the perceived treason.
Christmas Tree Cluster
This is an image of the NGC 2264 region, best known as the Christmas Tree Cluster sitting in the same neighborhood as the Cone Nebula, all tucked away in Monoceros about 2,500 light-years from us.

Two types of stars: one on the stage, and one from the sky.
I just can’t resist drawing these two.

Idk if anyone noticed this before or if it has any relevance but…
Do u guys remember that scene in the brothers hawthorne where avery and jameson are at the horse races or whatever and were trying to make theur “in” to the devils mercy with some of the rich folks there?? Im sure u dont as nobody actually knows or remembers what happened in jamesons pov in tbh because it was way too damn much BUT in that scene when they’re discussing horses, one of the horses was named “Lady Monoceros”
The hand in alices strange cult is called Monoceros, and its an all female organization. Coincidence??
And then when that horse gets mentioned, theres another horse that jameson claims hes betting on, aka the “devils duel”, but jameson call it the devils mercy, again, as his way to hint to someone there that he knew about the organization. But that doesnt matter. What i think matters is HOW he said it
Again, it seems insignificant, but it kind of looks like it holds a separate meaning about how jameson might approach this whole avery missing situation. Maybe he originally starts off in prague, meets the hand (monoceros), but doesnt have much luck on his own. Then maybe he goes to the devils mercy instead, and with some cool favour that the devils mercy gives him for some reason (idk im not the author jlb u got that) the devils mercy uses its resources to get her back.
Or maybe im just spitballing here. Idk do u guys think that mention of lady monoceros carries any relevance?? Or is it just jlbs way of hinting to figures in her later series’, as a little easter egg?
Guys what if jameson finds the monoceros and she tells him that she will give him avery back in exchange for the other girl, and then she says the aquila/drakos/reyes girl (meaning lyra) and jameson has no idea it meant her because he doesn't know her last name... then when he finds out he has this whole moral dilemma about what to do (not really, he would give her lyra in the blink of an eye if he could).
