We are keeping Beyblade as a sport. BUT BUT TO MAKE THIS INTERESTING IT’S AN ACTIVITY ONLY NOBLES AND THOSE OF THE HIGHEST STATUS WHO CAN TAKE PART IN IT.
Bird is a prince. Shieru becomes and is assigned to be his knight.
Multi & Shiguru are nobles but not royalty.
Ekusu is a noble but he might as well be a prince given how Chrome is constantly seen spoiling him (Shiguru is offered to be spoiled but she declines)
You may be asking: what is your reason for Shieru being the only knight out of the characters so far? IT HAS TO DO WITH CANON!!!! Now hear me aka read me rant ehehehehe. So uh we see that he doesn’t really have friends outside of Shiguru and um he’s just on friendly terms with Persona and well Chrome. Chrome is a whole other thing but not really friends. So I wanted to incorporate a sense of isolation with Shieru still present in this AU.
I say that but I’m inventing this on the spot
So da main cast minus Shieru don’t all get into Blading at once.
Shieru actually ends up getting into Blading because of Bird throughout the story. Yes I’m going the cheesy route. Bird introduced Shieru to his happiness, and also Bird becomes Shieru’s happiness along the way too.
I need to do actual research for stuff but um. Yeah. And uh uh uhhhhh because I can I’m gonna add sad stuff like Bird being pressured by royals to find someone to start being together with and his time alone with Shieru lessens and it HURTSSSS
And um yeah. Hey imagine Multi and Bird become besties and Multi is like trying to be like Sigrid (aka being a big sister) and giving advice to Bird on what to do
I’d imagine Ekusu and Bird still become close and idk 😭 UGH THEYRE SO SWEET imagine Ekusu doing things to cheer Bird up when he’s down in the dumps
Hmm… Shiguru meeting Shieru… imagine Bird is going outside his fancy castle for once and Shiguru accidentally throws a rock at him (she was trying to aim for the river behind Bird) and Shieru IMMEDIATELY loses his cool but Shiguru actually ends up giving him good advice
whats the advice for? For Shieru to be a better calculating knight. And hehe PLOTTTTTT it makes Shieru feel guilty because on mistake can cost him the prince’s life. Bird doesn’t really know what to say because he’s been clutching at his head that’s been bleeding that whole time and Shieru is like “WHY DIDNT YOU SAY ANYTHING” and Shiguru was like “maybe if you checked on him first before jumping me he wouldn’t be dying”
So yeah. Connection established there.
And uhhh EISHEKAHWKEBSSJ. Shieru’s goal starts out as just becoming a knight and being the pride of his family —> worry about becoming a better knight —> worry about Bird’s life more than his —> questioning what he actually wants after he’s introduced to Blading
but due to ✨ financial reasons ✨ aka not being wealthy or a noble he puts aside his dreams the best he can to focus on protecting what he DOES have in his life— Bird.

To also represent some of Shieru’s insecurities: I’m gonna have Bird be a better at combat than he is, and Shieru is hard on himself for having to learn from the person he’s supposed to be protecting
Because well. Bird is amazing at everything. Except Blading—
We need an incident. So. THE MASKS ARRIVE!
…I’m still not sure what I want for that. I dunno if I wanna make it similar to the show or in a different route.
Also I think Bird would plan cute outings for him and Shieru. Like he’d sneak them out into a hidden flower field and just do fun stuff. Flower crowns, jumping around on the trees, finding random things in nature and giving them a story.
even when they’re apart they’ll look outside their living situations at the sky, same time, at the stars, and feel their hearts swell with happiness
it’s a bond stronger than any emotion on earth could describe.
